the whole we think refers to civil war, peter revealed himself to be spider-man but that was retconned to be that he wasn't spider-man but the spokes man for starks idea of using joe public to create an army of spider-men, hence we get the scarlet spiders in the initiative

thats the way i took it

Good theory. but I have to debunk it for 2 reasons.

one "marvel published the statement that no one remembers who was under the mask.

two the symbiote does not know and this is also something Norman is VERY sure of.

I don't get the whole we need to know now thing. Am I the only one who likes it when things aren't revealved straight away? I hate to have read forums [even though they didn't exisy]] when the Hobgoblin stuff was happening.

people bought that book knowing what they were going into. lol.

its like going to see one of George Carlin's stand up and feeling offended of his view on politics or anything when he's always been advertised as controversial and what not

Norman figures out who spider-man is again. He then somehow remembers that he already figured this out a long time ago, and Norman ends up being the one unraveling all of this OMD/BND mystery crap

that might be cool, but I don't think it will happen.

They've spent, what, 2 years already planning and prepping for this new status quo. They're not just going to throw their hands up in the air after just a few months and say "Fine! We'll go back to how things were before!"

Now naturally, some things will inevitably come back eventually. You can betcha that Norman will eventually figure out who Peter is again one day. You can betcha that Pete and MJ will date again one day. But all this will happen when it feels right for the story, not when some readers demand a retraction of OMD.

There's a difference between a story took 2 years to write and clean up, and a story that was conceived, planned, and plotted 2 years before the first issue comes out.

And as for the mighty dollar, I agree. Thankfully, as TMOB has shown us over and over again, they're getting more of that fed to them this year than they have in, what, almost a decade at least?

Not that I can think of a better name for this character....but now that i think about it Anti-venom is a really really really stupid name. lol.

i like paper doll. menace is pretty cool. even freak is a catchy name...and he's a terrible character

but it just feels weird saying "anti-venom"

I took it in the context of how a snake Venom can be turned into an Anti-Venom, like when he said the whole thing about him being the cure for the disease that is venom, it made a whole lot more sense then when the name was introduced and he just looked like a mr. negative spin-off. (which he kinda is...but o well) haha

I don't think "anti-venom" will be around long though. I have a feeling he's one of those one-time characters. Anti-Venom doesn't have lasting appeal on me...yet. We just have to wait and see what happens next issue before I start saying that though.

To clarify, when I said "crap" I was talking about the confusion regarding Peter's Identity and what exactly were the results of OMD, I was not talking about BND itself. I'm enjoying BND quite a bit, and have bought every issue. Anyways, I'm still hoping that Norman will again figure out who spidey is. My favorite Spider-man arc is #39-40 (my girlfriend got me an original ASM#39 for our 2 year anniversary, and she got it framed)

Hmm, that means Brock could be some parts stronger and some parts weaker; Fire and sonics no longer harm him, but he may not be as durable as the original symbiote and maybe if it loses too much costume mass he has to wait till his body can produce more? Also I wonder if he'll have additional abilities? The burning seemed to be a close contact thing, but what if he can produce fluids (saliva?) that are toxic to the symbiote atwill? Hmm

I do have to say I like the new concept. but I am a bit scared because well...its symbiote themed..

and we all know what happened the last time marvel went symbiote crazy....

the best part of the story thus far (besides the return of norman)

is eddie brock is FINALLY getting rounded out as a character. he's not just some brain eating tool anymore and I tip my hat to Dan just for that. t:

If Marvel can do something with Eddie, it'll be the first time he's been interesting since his first two appearances (ASM #299, 300 and ASM #316, 317).

The most dangerous thing Eddie brock did to Pete was fold laundry with Aunt May....oh, and he pushed a tree down.
