I guess it also didn't help that in the context of SR, people really couldn't root for Superman and Lois to have intimate interactions with each other due to her being engaged to a rather nice guy who was assumed by all to be the father of her 5 year old son.

Here on the other hand, Amy and Cavil's characters can get as intimate as they want because they aren't restricted by those types of scenarios.

Also, like others have pointed out, it's definitely a classic scenario of seeing superman save Lois like that in film and I think it's the first time on film that we've seen Superman placed in a intense situation while carrying Lois to safety.

I won't even try to sugar coat it....

I ship a few different things across fiction.

But when the narrative is flowing and the emotions are on fire...there is nothing in this world that I ship harder than Lois and Clark. Nothing.

I ship them like burning. I have since I was a little kid and saw Superman the Movie for the first time.

I shipped them like mad again in the 90's when it was Dean and Teri.

I shipped them in the animated series.

I've shipped them since the first minute my Dad handed me a Superman comic years and years ago.

Even in Superman Returns...in that flight scene? I still shipped them. Yes, the story was messed up and it had so many errors but that flight scene is still gorgeous and they had a baby and I just wanted them to be a family.

I thought for sure I wouldn't ship them on Smallville bc I still attached to Dean and Teri and I thought, "Eh...can't possibly be as good." Except then Tom and Erica wound up having burning mad chemistry and I shipped THEM like mad. I wanted years for them to kiss and I got literal chills when they did. I cried at their wedding.

Even now, in the new 52, in the rare moment when you get a great scene betwen them like in Tony Daniel's recent flashback in Action Comics when they are in the bar and Clark is peering over his glasses and their eyes catch....damn I STILL ship them like mad. I'm like, "Go back to the hotel room. Fool around! You know you want to!"

And now, here we are again...and what do you know....against all odds....I've got the feels again.

I just can't help it. I will go down with this ship. I will legit ship Lois Lane and Superman forever. And really it's dumb to even call them a "ship" because they aren't a ship as much as the central, pivotal 75 year old relationship in the Superman mythos. They aren't a ship.

There. You have my confession.

Well Zod has a huge shadow on his nose in the latest tv spot and Superman is melting... I have it on good authority that damn butterfly from the trailer has something to do with it.

Back on topic and more seriously.... I think Amy is going to knock it out of the park as Lois. The small sample we've been given to so far, she's been excellent IMHO!
