The Dark Knight Rises Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman XII

It would be funny if she doesn't end up being a stripper after all. :oldrazz:

I fully support Anne's role in the movie because I like her as an actress, however, beautiful girl displaying a sexual routine is a bonus

With Anne, she would never make it just a purely sexual routine. Even in Love and Other Drugs, because she conveyed that sickness and sense of despair as a Parkinson's sufferer, she kind of defused some of the sexuality of her sex scenes so that you couldn't just enjoy it only on an erotic level without feeling some kind of compassion and sympathy for her.

If Anne did do a striptease as Catwoman, she might convey her sense of emptiness as if she were wishing that she didn't have to do this somewhat degrading act (even though she might as a stripper eventually come to enjoy it occasionally but probably most of the time not).

Exactly, which is why I love her as an actress. There's more to her than just looks which is a LOT more than can be said for some big name actresses. All I'm saying is, just the thought of Anne as a stripper has to ignite some thoughts in some heads :oldrazz:

I'm trying to think of the most sexual scene in a Nolan movie and I'm kinda stumped. Is it in The Prestige? Or in Memento? Other than that I can't think of any.

There isn't one. At all. It any of his films. :yay:

I mean, MAYBE Memento, when Leonard picks up a hooker, but there's no nudity, no sex scene, and no innuendo in the dialogue.

This is the primary concern I have with TDKR.
Catwoman is SEX.
Yet, Nolan has never depicted it in any way, ever.

Eck... I hope not. Where is that sense of authority and self-empowerment Selina has? It reeks of playing the sympathy card, one that is all too often pulled out in occupations of ambiguous moral nature. As if the only way a stripper can justify herself is if she's forced to do it and is unhappy. I'll pass on that idea.

Yeah, you're right. I tried really hard to come up with something but came up with nothing. The most I can think of was in The Prestige when Angier was kissing his wife who was in the bed but that's really nothing much. ScarJo was wearing some sexy outfits but that's just it.

There is nudity in "Insomnia". . .but's it's a corpse, so I'm not sure that counts as sexual.

That's why I said Nolans moves are like darker Disney movies. They're pretty sanitised, just giving the impression of being darker.

he allows you to make the implication yourself without having to show you; while it is part of the story to have those elements in the film they aren't necessary

Maybe not to you...

I thought Marion in Inception had the femme fatale role pretty spot on . If Selena is like that we will be fine .

By the way , just watched the Hathaay interview on the daily show . As a new adict of Words with friends , I must thank her for the scrabble tips:awesome: I have a frieends who ass I need to kick so If I can use QI , will do it:hrt:

I don't buy the stripper angle for a minute. Nolan's too classy (and more importantly, too much of a prudish Brit) for that.

The Brits are far less prudish than us Americans when it comes to sex

Just because she'll be a stripper doesn't mean that it will be glorified or anything in the movie.

Just as long as they don't glorify thievery, violence, and vigilantism, they should be fine.

Or as long as they don't include bats, police officers, butlers, or chases involving vehicles.

Given how much he's taken from Year One and DKR, and his penchant to avoid sexuality, I do indeed buy it as his way of toning down the prostitute angle.

I thought Marion was pretty alluring in Inception.

Anyway Anne doesn't have to be swinging around poles, talking like a hooker or performing anything erotically provocative to make her Catwoman sexy. There're many other ways that a woman can be sexual without breaking a PG-rating.

Besides, there's a lot more to Catwoman than just sex.
