She looks very pretty here....

She's very pretty. I know it's probably her casual look as Anne Hathaway, but I would LOVE to see her like that in the movie. Of course, it almost looks like it belongs in a Princess Diaries sequel, as she looks like a princess in that. :hrt:

Also, although some people here don't like her laugh, I thought it was adorable every time she giggled in her interview on the Daily Show. It probably wasn't as much of a "cackle" as in her other interview where she says "what a forward young man you are!" I would personally try to make Anne laugh as much as possible if I were with her. :hrt:

Someone remixed Anne's rap song. So now it's like a real rap song.

Eh, I think I prefer the original version. This sounds a bit speeded up and I just liked watching Anne performing it in that informal way.

Damn... I need to find a beautiful, talented, nice fun girl like her somewhere. :csad:

there is very little in Batman year one of catwoman to even use it in much of his movie.

The only hint to it his the hiring of that one young actress, The socilate angle makes more sense if Bruce is to know who Selina kyle is without knowing she is catwoman.

but meh who knows.

You're probably not going to find one stuck behind your monitor like this :cwink:

I like the fact that we know very little, if anything, about Catwoman at the present moment. In fact most of her can write out a rough plot for TDKR but nobody knows where Catwoman fits atm. I hope the wait will be worth it, and when she's finally revealed that she'll become the definitive Catwoman of our era :yay:

I guess that Selina will be a modern Robin Hood, as she won't stealing for herself

She will show up at a kids fundraiser, where she meets Bruce

I know that, and I do go out and meet lots of girls, but I would really like one who is very creatively talented and fun like Anne, and beautiful in a princessy sort of way. I just really like Anne.

I do hope Anne will become the definitive Catwoman. Jack Nicholson seemed to be the definitive Joker before, but now comes across rather hammy. I wonder if Michelle Pfieffer will come off like that if Anne gives a really great performance that isn't over the top?

Unfortunately, that design still doesn't scream "Catwoman" to me. But that is, in no way, a criticism of your drawing .

The Brits are far less prudish than us Americans when it comes to sex

Yes, but Nolan is the more uptight 'old-fashioned English gentleman' type who frown at overt displays of sexuality. I mean, the man's made more than half-a-dozen films by now and we should know he just doesn't write or depict female characters like that.

I like that spin on her myself, like Selina in BTAS. But realistically speaking, I kinda doubt that one who would steal, be it for the benefit of herself or for others, would turn up at a fundraiser, unless it's to pick pockets. After all, why go through the motions, and wait for rich people to feel generous enough to toss a little change into the donation jar when you can just bag a whole lot more out of the safes in their homes, especially if they're out at a fundraiser? :cwink:

And if she really was a Robin Hood-type character, I bet she would start out not liking Bruce Wayne, which can be a fun twist in the story if she ends up gaining respect for him at the end.

Good point

Selina might be like all the characters in Leverage rolled into one: Hacker, Hitter, Grifter, Thief, Mastermind!

Sometimes the bad guys make the best good guys!

Sometimes crappy tv show taglines are quoted on comic book message boards! :awesome:

All of the respective actors/actresses are gifted, so it will come down to characterisation. I like Nicholson's take, but Ledger is the complete package for me. I prefer The Joker as an anonymous, point to prove killer. Michelle's Catwoman is fantastic. She really nailed what she was given. But again, I know Nolan can provide something different and up the ante in terms of backstory/motivation. Regardless though, Anne is my favourite actress so she's already over the line.

If, as Selina Kyle, she comes across as relatively normal and a nice girl who is a little bit naughty, then I think I would already like her the most. I'm trying to think purely in terms of her performance and not in terms of the actress playing her (Anne is also my favourite so that would be a huge bias if I were to judge according to the star). I think Michelle's Selina seemed as if she were on drugs or something. She already looked pale and sickly before being pushed out of a window, and not entirely relatable as she was a rather odd character.

I want Anne's Selina to already be confident and naughty because that is her personality, not as a result of turning into Catwoman via some kind of accident a la Michelle.

LOL....based on that ridiculous characterisation I am assume that you are not English. :cwink:

Good call. I'm with you.

So I'd like Selina's personality to be not far different from Anne's but maybe a little more exaggerated. Anne could be described as a sometimes "naughty" girl. She is still nice and sincere, but she is quite cheeky and gets up to mischief: she moons her co-stars to distract them, she doesn't mind getting her boobs out when necessary, she writes rap songs about the paparazzi, she f... messes with her interviewers lol. She's just lots of fun but still a nice girl at the end of the day.

If Selina is anything like that, then that would be :awesome:

Absolutely. The comparisons in Anne's real life are there and they are dead on for Catwoman. I like the idea of the naughty aspect being there from the start. First off, it's the opposite of the BR version, where they had Selina as a lowly secretary, ignored and abused in a male centric world. Now, if they have origins again, they could still have some of those themes, but the way in which Selina reacts to it could be different. Not as downbeat and dejected. Naughty, carefree and a risk taker who steps things up another level.

Tim Burton sure loves his characters looking pale, sickly and odd. See below for other references :awesome:

They have their own gothic appeal though. But I do agree with you, that we need a more relatable Catwoman, preferably one who has innate kindness and compassion beneath a mischievous or rebellious exterior.

The gripe I had with Michelle's Selina had less to do with her appearance rather than it seemed for most of the movie, that she had little to no control over herself and her actions, and suffered from an extreme case of mental confusion and lost of self-identity. If I did not know the Catwoman of the comics, I would've believed she belonged to Arkham rather than Blackgate.

The Catwoman that I'm familiar with is not only in control of who she is and what she intends to do in each situation, she's even more sure of herself than Batman is. That's perhaps what's so attractive about her to Batman, that she can work behind a mask and still be entirely sane and in control of herself. I hope we see that in Nolan's Catwoman.

Pfeiffer's performance was and is pretty much definitive, moreso than Nicholson's

Certainly, Pfeiffer is still the definitive Catwoman on screen for me also.

The 60' Batman show , for as campy as it was , is a far more faithful Catwoman than the supernatural psychpoath than again Batman seemed to enjoy killing people in Returns as well
