This. There are numerous people on this board expecting TKDR's Selina to be a carbon copy of Return's only with a different, "Nolanized" look. Anything that isn't is considered terrible even though it has been depicted in the comics before.

I would hate it if Selina is just like Pfieffer's Catwoman. I'd like her to be different, just as Aaron Eckhart's Harvey Dent/ Two-Face was different from Tommy Lee Jones's version.

And that, regardless of some similarities some costumes might have to others, they've all more or less had ONE thing in common.

They make Selina resemble a Cat. Save for one or two of the costumes.

This one? The one pictured in the batpod shot? Does not.

If we get more to it, ie a hood with catears on it, awesome. Fantastic. Sensational. Nolan's hit it out of the park.

If not? His Catwoman, as far as being recognizable as Catwoman, has failed.

And it's not just nerds with concerns. 3 major sites have gone on record as saying she doesn't resemble Catwoman. Because she doesn't.

I see it as "Catwoman" is the true Selina Kyle, same for Batman/Bruce.

The "cat" look is a disguise, but the real disguise is the "Selina Kyle" Gotham knows.

So you're right, it's like 2 seperate characters, but I don't think about it like that. Since something that one does affects the other, it's all one in the same for me.

The main characters are Bruce and Selina (but Gotham doesn't know that), Batman and Catwoman are just costumes.

No, because that is the bare minimum and almost like an afterthought in design.

"Oh **** we forgot to make her look anything like Catwoman!"

"Don't panic! What if...hey, what if we just make those little plastic blue light things pivot up onto the top of her head! There! Instant catears! Don't worry about it, they'll eat that **** right up and fall all over themselves to call it genius."

I don't think he did but just worded it very weirdly, hes speaking from Bruce/Selina point of view and then switching to Gotham point of view.

You guys know I had my doubts about Anne's appearance as Selina out of the suit. I will readily admit that given these pictures, they are completely gone.

Bruce was like a child in TDK "She was gonna wait for me" he said to Alfred after Rachel died. So Alfred took her letter away from man-child, so he wouldn't know the truth--Rachel ditched him for good and was going to pledge herself to Dent.

This is a good point , though I would submit Nolan as showing all of these characters with flaws their and many of them viewing the complex world in simple terms . Bruce is naive and in a sense suffers from arrested development . He believed he could become Batman and that there wouldn't be any negative fallout from his choices . Once he walks away he believes that he can live a normal life with Rachel

At the same time , Rachel is clearly in a relationship with Harvey but has not let go of Bruce fully in a romantic sense. She clearly still cares for him and even kisses Bruce . The fact the she even had to make a choice shows it wasn't exactly clear to her who she would commit to be with until the end .

Harvey himself decided to seek revenge on people like Gordon and thus betrayed everything he believed in and ultimately did something I don't think Rachel would have wanted him to do. After Rachel's death , he doesn't continue the fight for justice the way Bruce does, he instead settles personal scores. Harvey was never a white knight, and there was no way he could ever be everything Bruce and Gordon wanted him to be . As a result that placed an impossible burden on him, and lay all their hopes and dreams on him.

Even the Joker believes that anyone could be pushed to be twisted regardless of their beliefs , their morals, and their personalities.

If Nolan can show the same type of complexities in Selina, Bane , and Miranda , that he showed for his characters in the other films, then I think the film will be great.

In my perfect world, she'll be a wild card who's only known allegiance is to herself. You just don't know what's she's going to do. I think that's what makes her so fascinating.

That's exactly how she has to be, otherwise you kill off the essential factor in her relationship with Batman.

Well I see Anne very much there, and she looks absolutely gorgeous. That apple tossing scene is hot.

But yes, she does look like she's worked very hard to become Selina Kyle.
