I was definitely not counting on them marketing her as an ally. I was so convinced that they'll market her as a straight up villain.

I was surpised as well, im coming to the conclusion at this point that they wont even have one fight against each other.

Nah, they have one. At least according to those who were at the NJ shoot.

If Nolan has such control over the marketing materials such as the trailers you wouldn't think they'd do this. Here's hoping there's a lot more to the character than just whose side she's on.

That is true, but I also think her finding out about him taking on Dent's crimes, being wanted and hated - giving the City peace for a portion of time without any recognition or any want of reward is what will really help tip it over for her.

Exactly. She must find out the truth about his sacrifice over Dent for Gotham, otherwise she would not be saying he has given them everything if she thought he was a multiple murderer.

I'm pretty convinced she's got more than half of Bat/Bruce's screen time

Perhaps it isn't spoiling at all, since most know Catwoman as a villainess and Batman/Bruce's on-again, off-again lover (so an alliance between the two on screen would actually make sense). Most know that much about her comic book character. The biggest secret is Tate, and it looks like marketing on her is at its all-time low because Nolan doesn't want to spoil anything about her character.

I think they may be going for marketing her as mysterious and untrustworthy, not leaning to villain or ally in the ads.

That is exactly what I was gonna say. It looks like the wild card is Tate in this one. Which I like. Makes her something more that a vessel for revenge.

Other than from what we've seen from the trailers and rumors on set, are we aware of any other possible gadgets Catwoman is using besides her goggles and the Batpod? He has that utility belt that I'm curious about... and the way her high heels are chromed and sticking out from throughout of her black costume... I can't help but think that they may do something. Or at least, I hope they do. :woot:

They do. They're serrated and they function as claws.

The fact that the functionality of the heels was revealed months ago and it's still one of the most asked questions on here astounds me. As closely as people are following all the news about Catwoman I would think that everybody knew by now that they are serrated blades/claws.

Not meant as an insult to anyone but it just shocks me that everybody doesn't know that by now.

And there's always that gun as well...any chance that might be a grapple gun other than, you know, one with bullets?

I'd rather she use a whip for grappling purposes.

Meh, I don't get the whip obsession. Not that I don't dig it but it's not essential for me.

I really hope she has at least one cat though. :D

....because she's Catwoman.

Would you be confused if people would wanted to see Batman use his Batarangs or grapple gun?

No I totally get if people dig the whip and would like to see it. Just speaking from me personally it's not that essential.

I love batarangs and grapple gun is cool. But again, not necessary to tell a great Batman story or show a cool Batman. The grapple-gun also didn't even exist before Burton.

Yes, I know. :cwink:

No, but he had a bat rope, which is just a more simplified version of a grapple gun.

To me Catwoman without her whip is like Penguin without an umbrella. It's their iconic trademark weapon that they always have at hand.
