Antje Traue IS Faora in The Man of Steel - Part 2

Caught some scenes of Pandorum today while it was on TV & I couldn't help but get lost in Antje's beauty. Admittedly, she was the only reason I left it on said channel. :D

The Woman in Gold

"Filming began last week, but that hasn’t stopped director Simon Curtis (MY WEEK WITH MARILYN) adding more to his already impressive cast for THE WOMAN IN GOLD. Along with Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds, Daniel Bruhl, Antje Traue and Tatiana Maslany the film has added Katie Holmes, Elizabeth McGovern, Jonathan Pryce, Charles Dance, Moritz Bleibtreu and Max Irons, all now confirmed."

source ... and many others

Nice.
I'm a little wary of the casting in regards to the film's premise though.
Reeks of typecasting (even if it'd be the first time for Antje), in this case signing a couple of German actors/actresses just to portray some proper Nazis or something along these lines, yet again. Not a big fan of that or that kind of typecasting in general.
I'm probably completely wrong with this assumption considering how little there actually seems to be known about the plot but seeing a few names of the era like 'Heinrich' or 'Therese' assigned to actors/actresses in the (so far) credited cast list is a bit concerning.

In the meantime, here's an update on the progress of the Faora model Pascal Raimbault is working on over at cgfeedback.com:

Of course that is a risk. But the main story line plays in 1998, though I am sure there will be flashbacks to the Nazi times. I assume Antje will play some Austrian person in 1998. Let's face it, Antje is not the "typical nazi woman".
But on the other hand she gets to meet and work with people like Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds, Katie Holmes, etc. which is really good for her career.
It seems that Antje is much more into serious movies than into "popcorn cinema".
So serious topics like Third Reich stuff will cross her way time and again in the future.

brilliant work

The Woman in Gold looks like a great project to be signed onto. With Despite The Falling Snow in post production her career seems finally to be kicking into gear.

Oh God, I wouldn't want to see Antje anywhere near anything Power Rangers related. *shudders*

Dug up a few decent sized red carpet shots from Superman's 75th anniversary event at last year's SDCC:

Doesn't look like there's anything Seventh Son- or Antje-related happening at SDCC this year though.

Beautiful pictures, sef

btw Outlier had its "Team Premiere" and is expected to hit festival screens soon.

Her beauty is nothing but captivating. :hrt:

Could Faora possibly return in a later movie? From what I remember of the ending she was sucked back into the Phantom zone but were they killed also?

You're welcome.
And that's some good news about Outlier. Looking forward to that the most actually, even though it's just a short.

Goyer and Co. always could reintroduce the Phantom Zone as a (Doomsday-related) plot device or as a battleground in the real MoS sequel (or threequel) or in the JL film, which in turn could give way to all sorts of opportunities including the return of Faora and the other remaining Kryptonians.
Bringing them back in that context also wouldn't feel as cheap and more like a surprise (imho) since the general audience didn't necessarily make the connection between the singularity over Metropolis and the Phantom Zone and instead believes Faora and Co. to have perished along Hardy and Hamilton in "some black hole".
From what I remember of the ending she was sucked back into the Phantom zone but were they killed also?
Depends on what the Phantom Zone in the Snyderverse actually is, I guess.
If it's just pitch black, empty nothingness then (prolonged) survival is obviously not an option.
If they'd go with depicting the Phantom Zone as some sort of barren wasteland (as seen in 1984's Supergirl) then there's probably a good chance that the remaining Kryptonians (still charged with Yellow Sun radiation) not only could have survived the collision/explosion of the two Phantom Drives and being sucked into the resulting singularity-like gateway but are now slowly descending into madness while roaming this lovely place.

My take was that Faora, Colonel Hardy and Emil Hamilton are dead, they nose dived into Zod's ship before/as the Phantom Zone opened from what it looked like to me. He kamikazied them, that's why he returned Faora's "A good death is it's own reward" jab at her right before he swung the plane into Zod's ship. Then again, I guess there is a chance Faora could have survived and is stuck in the Phantom Zone, Hardy/Hamilton wouldn't have survived that though. They showed the rest of Zod's crew getting pulled into the vortex, so they are probably still alive.

I would assume that Snyder's Phantom Zone would be similar to Supergirl 84 or the Smallville TV Show. Hopefully at some point we get to see his take on what the Phantom Zone looks like. I'm sure Snyder could do something amazing for those scenes.

This version of the Phantom Zone isn't really anything like what Smallville or the movies did. It's uniquely different, & involves no crystals or people being trapped inside of them. This version seems a bit more technological.
