I'd love to see Yelchin play Harry.

It's funny. If this happens it will just like James Franco who auditioned for Peter but did get the role of Harry. Now someone who auditioned for Peter could get the role of Harry again.

Oh wow, this would be a pretty good choice, actually. I liked him in Star Trek.

I am not sure how legit since it is CBM but they are saying Matthew Gray Gubler(Criminal Minds ) might be in contention for Harry.

Definitely not the worst choice. I still prefer Yelchin but whatever.

I could see it. Loved him in (500) Days.

This doesn't mean they're doing the entire Harry arc again, does it? Bleh.

I think Anton as Harry is PERFECT!

But i'm basing that entirely on my love of the 90's animated version.

I could see him as Harry, definitely.

Okay I guess, but he won't top Franco anyway.

I haven't seen MGG in anything so I can't compare him to Franco...but I agree that Franco nailed the part. One of the VERY few things that was good in Raimi's trilogy.

There are numerous ways to go with Harry, they don't have to start with him being a hater of Spider-Man or the Green Goblin Legacy at all.

I'd like Yelchin but I'm liking the suggestion of Matthew Gray Gubler. Especially if we are talking a college Spidey.

Yelchin would indeed be awesome. That Gubler dude would be great also! How old is he btw? He's pretty good from what I've seen in Criminal Minds too.

Yeah, thats true (at least I enjoyed his take on the character). I enjoyed Harry in 1, in 2 even more and in 3 well...the worst movie of the trilogy was the best of Franco imo!

Agree! While I disliked Raimi's take on Doc Ock and Sandman (not to mention Peter Parker and Mary Jane), I really enjoyed Harry Osborn and he was done nearly perfect imo. He was the best treated character in the trilogy by far.

I agree. It's too bad everyone else was so off :(
Although, Norman was treated pretty good as well I think. Willem Defoe is the man.

Yeah he was pretty good too but he didn't feel like Spidey's arch enemy at all. I mean, he was killed off in the origin movie

That guy at the top of the page as Harry? I have not seen him in anything, but lookswise he is basically a carbon copy of Franco, I would've liked them to go with a different type this time than the absolutely perfectly carved pretty boy. No matter how good he is, he will not beat Franco's performance, so I'd have liked him to have a different physical vibe, something to distinguish him from the previous series. Someone like Yelchin would have been good for that.

Well, lets not exagerate! There were characters that were treated good: Cliff Robertson as Uncle Ben, Rosemary Harris as Aunt May, Topher Grace as Eddie Brock (he may not have been bulk, but hey, he did brought charisma to the character and he really tried to do his best imo! They screwed Venom, but Grace did his best imo)! Also, Elizabeth Banks as Betty Brant, JK Simmons as JJJ and of course Defoe as Norman Osborn/GG was great imo and I really enjoyed Molina as Ock too! . You can't say these were not treated fairly at least, both in terms of casting and writting.;)

As for the actors, I agree that they were very good. I'm talking about how they were written. Green Goblin didn't come off as Spidey's arch enemy at all, just his first super villain. Doc Ock wasn't like the evil-to-the-bone genious comic book self, JJJ was mostly just for laughs (he was very good at it though) and was hard to take serious. Aunt May wasn't like most of the comic portrayals however I still liked the movie version. Eddie Brock was done justice imo. However, I still prefer him as a big guy. But he was good. Uncle Ben was good (the whole origin itself was among the best things in the franchise imo and was done almost perfectly). Betty Brant was good.

Not to mention that the casting of Gwen was perfect

But screwing up Peter Parker, MJ and imo to some extent Doc Ock and killing off Green Goblin in the origin is unforgivable. Not to mention making Sandman Uncle Ben's killer and retconning the whole origin that already was nearly perfect. You can have the greatest of casts to the other characters but screwing these characters up destroys everything.

I feel you! I understand what you mean, I would've loved if Raimi would have went with Gwen in 1 and have her killed in 2 by GG! He should've built up Osborn in the first movie or something, however, if I give it a second thought, I hope Webb will do that in the new franchise!;)

As for your thoughts on JJJ, I somehow agree too! I wish to see him finally reaching the point where he's about to blow regarding his hatred for Spider-Man, therefore, contributing to the creation of Scorpion!

As for MJ & Peter, I also feel the same! I mean ffs the MAIN characters of the franchise were screwed! First of all, the writting of Dunst's MJ was bad imo, especially in 1&2 but she wasn't a good choice either! As for Tobey, as I said, he was great as Spider-Man, he was meh, let's say I would've been OK with it, cause in SM1 it was quite alright, but then in 2 & 3 they totally wrote him like a wuss and his acting wasn't that great either if you ask me. So I hope that this time around, they make justice for these 2 characters, both casting & writting wise.

Spot on and I can tell that I agree with this post 100%! :woot:
