I actually liked that Ray was allowed to leave his usual settings (Starling City/Palmer Technologies Office) and join the group in one of their off-seas adventures.

This is probably only the second time in the ENTIRE season where it felt like Ray had something useful to do and probably the first time where he was allowed to shine without Oliver's assistance (let alone get neutered by his character).

I think if you accept the fact that Atom is more Iron Atom and not Shrinking Atom for the time being, then it definitely makes it easier to watch on how they use Ray on the show.

And honestly, Maseo has had more mood swings when it's come to his change in allegiances than my Aunt did when she was Pregnant.lol

Seriously, the guy goes from being cold on Oliver when he's first introduced in the Present Day, only to betray Ra's by saving Oliver's life and contacting Katanna to rescue him.

Then he goes against Oliver once more, only to help Oliver again when Team Arrow tried to sneak Oliver's unconscious body out of Nanda Parbat.

Katanna should have gone with him to Starling to help fight against Brick and she should be the one to train him to fight with a sword.... do you like the Palmer scene where he come out of nowhere and destroy the plane.....it funny how many time his suit has been damage now
yeah agreed she should have went to starling to help them all out . but it was addressed well here about them ot knowing who she was. and Oliver not tellin people stuff details wise . which I said he'd continue to do which the writers said they love the trouble that come out of it. they love it for strain perpose's . it worked out this time though well minus the doubt part . it worked better for the audience I mean. As to the whole sword thing though I feel it's all overly hyped now from the writers .

Not nearly as many as Felicity and Thea.. They're just the worst :whatever:

I agree that Katana should have been developed more in the present day and not in the flashbacks. This season seems more about the supporting characters than Oliver.

Honestly, I wasn't mad that Merlyn betrayed them. They all deserve to die for being stupid and let him run around this whole season.

Really like Maseo's death. That moment had more poignancy than any Quentin Lance or Felicity melodrama this season.

Add Ras to the list too prior to when he finally had his people pick up Malcolm due to thea's calling them. which we still don't know how? it's not like they are easy to find via the yellow pages .

lol It's more about "I can't believe his getting married to her" as Felicity said then it's is about him.

While they're all locked up with no hope of escape for now. Again her priority(well what the writers are pushing as priority with in this show) are very interesting. that's what this season is about mostly the supporting characters fallow it after wards .

I liked seeing Team Arrow without Oliver when they were fighting the League. With Tatsu's husband and child gone, I'm looking forward as to what she will do from there.

Was anyone else a big fan of some of the orchestrated music that was used in tonight's episode? I liked the music that they used/play during Team Arrow's sequence against the League, Katanna mourning over Maseo's death, and Oliver's wedding ceremony.

I get the idea that's supposed to be part of Ollie's plan.

It went hand-in-hand very well.

I think this season was one of wasted opportunities. It could easily have been one of the best runs of the entire show, but they botched it up. According to me, if the plot had flowed like this, it would have been a lot better:

1. Show two episodes of little to no Oliver after the Ra's fight where he is practically struggling to be alive.
2. Have him so weak in the 3rd ep that he gets kidnapped by the LOA while he is trying to return to Starling and is then brought before Ra's.
3. Ra's, seeing that Oliver survived his blade, offers him the position of his heir and Oliver accepts, thinking that it'll give him the chance to dismantle the league once and for all.
4. Show a couple eps of Oliver's training and how, bit by bit, he is losing his humanity. Make it more of an inner conflict wherein we dont actually know what he'll choose to do in the future.
5. Then, show him running a couple missions for the league like encountering a small agent who is a part of HIVE (a set up for season 4) or a mission that brings him back to Starling (maybe Ra's wants Merlyn after all and Ollie has to get him back).
6. This 4-6 episode interval between Oliver and the main characters could be a source of great dramatic foil when he comes back on the aforementioned LOA mission, allowing them to unpack the devolution of his and Dig's relationship.
7. Slowly show how Ollie gets a bit of his conscience back (not through Olicity please).
8. Build up to the final battle between him and Ra's.

Also, he's really a romantic, like we saw when he pushed Felicity to sleep with Oliver, and that time he ordered Oliver to marry and rape his daughter...

I think that's a bit of an overstatement.....I mean I don't defend Ra's forcing these two to marry as being anything but crazy evil (or is it Evil Crazy?),but he's basically setting them up in an "arranged marriage". He expects their (ahem) cooperation in a very "business transaction" kinda way. I don't think he's giving Ollie free rein to abuse Nyssa.

She's clearly not into this "marriage" in the slightest and wouldn't sleep with him for obvious reasons, what else is it then? He told her she didn't have a choice in baring Oliver's child, and by extension sleeping with him. I'm not sure what else this could be but rape.

And he also raped her mother, unless there is any other way to take "You will have no more say in the matter than your mother." (Which makes his attempt at romanticising his relationship with Nyssa's mother all the more messed up when he is reminiscing at her in her room.)

But yeah, I'd love to hear how else you would classify non-consensual sex other than rape. Using the threat of violence is just as bad as using actual violence.

Go figure the best gif I could find of Katanas costume has to be where she is cradling her dead husband, but it was one of the best scenes of the episode and her outfit is my fave at this point.

Despite the fact that we never saw much of this couple in the present day and how they were dealing with their separation and the loss of their son, the actors really delivered in showcasing the tragedy of their relationship.

Plus, as we've seen from last week's episode, Ra's is not against using special drugs to brainwash people into doing and seeing certain things so it's not that hard to believe that would have done the same to his daughter in order for her to comply to his wishes in having his lineage continued.

Heck, in the comics, Talia technically drugged Bruce to sleep with her at one point, which resulted in the conception and birth of Damien Wayne.

I would agree about the marriage thing, but when he emphasized that they would produce a child, it became pretty clear.

Did a single League member in this Episode bother to fire a shot with their bows? "We're being attacked by a person with a machine gun. Let's run straight into him!"

I couldn't be more pissed if Malcolm really is betraying the team. Is it to save himself or because he really means to capture Oliver and have him killed?

It would feel like a downer if he just suddenly turns out to be bad all along.

But I'm still thinking that maybe it's a set up from Oliver and Malcolm both. Anyone else think so?

There's a chance, though I'd prefer it if Malcolm were trying to be good, but he just couldn't help himself when his life was on the line, so he tried to save his own skin.

I don't like that Roy is gone and I still want to see Arsenal. Speaking of Quetin Lance, where is he? Will he be in the finale next week? I want to see how he can change and eventually forgive Laurel and not blame Oliver and if he'll either be brainwashrd again or trust Oliver and become allies? Oliver only followed Laurel's wishes and Quetin has heart problems. Some moment or crisis eent should force Arrow and Quetin to come together again to protect Starling.

We know Oliver has been coning Ra's this whole time and that he hasn't forgotten who he was. As seen in the finale trailer, Team Arrow survives what could be a fake device of the virus.

If anything maybe Malcolm says he's sorry, or it was an attempt to make Ra's think that he was on his side.

I really hope they lighten the show up next season. Not because I want them all to be happy. I just don't want to hear that awful shaky voice EBR does anymore.

Someone should tell her to knock that **** off.
The wavering voice and on the verge of tears every time Oliver is mentioned thing needs to go.
"None of you are particularly good actors."

Fourth wall breaking? :o

I thought the same thing :o:cwink:
