It doesn't matter if they have had a close up of GA or Arrow's face before. I remember seeing a skit that Jimmy Kimmel did with NY Mets pitcher Matt Havery in New York. Jimmy sent Harvey out to ask new yorkers their opinion on Matt Harvey. A lot of the people talked about him without even knowing they were being interviewed by him. They probably see his face and jawline in a lot of people on the street.

The difference is that Harvey probably wasn't trying to conceal his identity. He was essentially hiding in plain sight. You also have to factor in the people who probably have no idea what the guy looks like in the first place (AKA me). The Green Arrow, on the other hand, is very obviously trying to conceal his identity, so his resemblance to Oliver Queen would naturally receive a lot more attention.

That really makes little difference because the description of the Unabomber was a hood and sun glasses. That guy stayed active from 1978-1995 when he was caught by his style of writing which was recognized by his family.

I can live with Clark Kents glasses, so I can live with Oliver not getting recognized, I don't see it as an issue worth getting uptight over.

the way I look at it not many people ever had an up close look at him and the closest a cam had on him was when he said his new name as the green arrow. The only one's that ever had a good look were the lances with face to face. so there isn't an issue with me.

Great episode. Oliver running for mayor is a different turn. Speedy going cray out of nowhere was hilarious. Diggle is getting better and better, love his arc.

That really makes little difference...

That's where we disagree.

I can live with Clark Kents glasses...

Not the same thing.

1) Superman hides in plain sight. Oliver/Green Arrow does not.

2) Clark Kent's glasses have metaphorical significance. The mask, hood, and face paint do not.

3) Green Arrow's disguise is a thousand times more believable than Superman's. The audience isn't required to suspend as much disbelief to accept that no one recognizes him as Oliver Queen. All you really have to is prevent anyone from seeing his face. But, as we know, Arrow just broke that role, and it's inconceivable that no one would make the connection.

so I can live with Oliver not getting recognized, I don't see it as an issue worth getting uptight over.

Because it's not. It was an easily avoidable situation that was undermined in the very next episode, but I'll be the first to admit that there are more important things to worry about. It'll just go down in my book as one of the many tiny decisions that will prevent Arrow from ever being truly great.

the way I look at it not many people ever had an up close look at him and the closest a cam had on him was when he said his new name as the green arrow.

Yeah. Exactly.

Super-recognizers.

There's no coming back from his little "I am the Green Arrow" speech.

Oliver should tell Star City that he has been fighting on their behalf at night as Green Arrow and that's why he should be the mayor in a televised debate between him and a HIVE sponsored politician.

Just get it over with. Like ripping a band-aid off.

Despite Laurel thinking it's a good idea to bring Sara back and Quentin being his annoying self, I really liked this episode. The action was great (particularly the Thea/Anarchy fight and Laurel on the zipline), Red Arrow is awesome (I don't care how many times they call her Speedy, she wants to be called Red Arrow, so she's Red Arrow), and Damien Darhk looks to be second only to Slade as villains go. He already has much more presence than Ra's did.

9/10

Another good episode, they kept up the quality of the first episode which is hopefully a good sign for the rest of the season. I love crazy Thea, it's bringing a nice dynamic to the show, and the actio continues to be good.

Darhk is awesome once again, and Anarchy was okay I guess. I couldn't take it seriously when he bested Oliver hand to hand though. Especially with how well trained Oliver is and has been throughout the season. Thea coming to save him and kicking Anarchy's ass was great though.
