Really can't blame Diggle. Oliver has been an ass in season 3, doing questionable decisions left and right. Even if it was a ploy, he kidnapped the mother of his kid, endangered her life, and worked together with a known mass murderer instead of his friends. Ollie took their trust and friendship and threw it in the trash. Let the man be angry for a couple Episodes.

I wish it was Felicity in that grave. She's become the Chloe Sullivan of Arrow - she's the IT girl/hacker, she's a corporate secretary, she's a CEO, she loves Oliver, but then Ray, but then back to Oliver. Agh. But, obviously, it won't be. The logical option would be Lance, but that tear Oliver shed? I don't think it fits. Sure, he respects Lance and obviously cares for him, but I don't see him breaking down like that for him. Dig? Could be, although Ramsey is too big a part of the show, same with Felicity, really.

My guess right now is Roy. He's supposed to come back for a few episodes, right?

Anyway, solid premiere.

I gave it a 3. I would have given it a 5 but the grave scene knocked it down 2 marks. All the grave scene told me was the show doesn't have a good plan for the season so they are coming up with a cheap gimmick to try get people interested. Beyond that I wish they would stop having characters from Flash show up on this show(and Arrow characters showing up on Flash), the scenes feel forced.

I thought the villain was good enough and that plot worked. Quentin showing up with the villain was a nice surprise. I could live without the Oliver/Felicity crap.

Can't say I am that excited to watch the season beyond the Oliver on the Island plot

^ It doesn't matter how long it would take him to make the journey; he wouldn't even embark on it - especially if his city were in danger - if he didn't have a close relationship with the deceased, and, like it or not, the only person in Star City with whom he has that kind of relationship is Felicity.

You do realize that typically people don't go to funerals to see the dead. They go to comfort and show support to those left behind.

Perhaps it is Oliver's baby mama who dies?
Felicity does all the computer stuff for Team Arrow so I would be surprised if they killed her off.
Mr Terrific or Ray Palmer could do the computer stuff for Team Arrow next season.

Didn't he meet her in an episode last season? The only reason I remember it is the girl who played his baby's mama was on the show Defiance.

Barely, but we have no connection to her. We saw her once, and not even her relationship to Ollie, but her interactions with Moira. I think it's pretty safe to assume it's one of the main/supporting cast and not a bit part from Season 2.

Oliver's baby mama was in season 2 of Arrow and the first season of The Flash. They could bring her back for a arc this season and then kill her off. It was only a suggestion anyway.

What was the Green Lantern reference? I think I missed it.

What was the Green Lantern reference? I think I missed it.

The first shot of the scene with Oliver and Waller in the bar, you see a guy in a jacket that has "Jordan" written on it, but you don't see the face. The show REALLY wants to get the go ahead to have a Lantern show up eventually.

I have to think the dead person is Thea. Since if Felicity died..You know Oliver would have taken her to the Lazarus Pits to bring her back. Her death would allow some kind of
"You can't come back from the dead twice" rule with the pit.

I thought it was a very good episode. Darhk was very interesting and when he spoke he held my attention. Like Malcolm, Slade, Blood and Ra's before him, I want to see more of him and I want to learn more about him and find out what his goals are. He strikes me as someone who is very charismatic, intelligent, sharp and who knows what they and how they will get it. The manner in which he dispatched one of his "Ghosts" showed his ruthlessness and I get the impression that he has a no nonsense approach to things. His introduction was great and he seemed to be an even more formidable opponent for Oliver than Ra's was.

I am interested to see why Lance is working for him. He must have put on one hell of an act because he does not strike me as the type of person that Lance would be interested in working for. If Lance knew who Darhk was and there was no acting or lies on Darhk's part then Lance must be very desperate to get what he wants (whatever it is) from Darhk.

I doubt they'd show the grave of a character we haven't even met yet.

It'll be the end of the season by the time we see the name on the grave, there are a lot of characters they could put in there with the amount of change that will occur by then for the characters, I think it's possible it could be Oliver's son as well, since set pics make it seem that the plotline is being brought back this season.

Great episode. I'm not going to get my hopes up, as last season had a great start as well, but they threw in plenty to get excited about.

Felicity is back to being how she used to be. Dark was well done and is already a credible threat. Diggle is now pulling an Ollie and keeping secrets. Speedy is finally starting to show signs of the Lazarus Pit (at least I hope it's that). That stinger at the end was damn good. Felicity is too obvious. If I had to guess it's either Lance or Diggle. Speaking of Lance, I wonder what Dark has on Lance that he's willing to work with him. Maybe this is how Sara comes back?

I liked the touch of Ollie and Felicity's home life away from crime fighting. Ollie takes up cooking as his new obsession, a personality trait that will never disappear.

That speech and announcement that he is Green Arrow. I marked out.

I should add that Diggle's helmet did not look anywhere near as bad as I thought it looked in the Arrow promo pictures. I thought it looked silly in them pictures but it looked ok in this episode IMO.

I loved seeing all of Team Arrow back together again. Watching the whole gang leap back into action was a blast.

The Season 4 premiere was very strong all around. Ollie interacting with all his teammates was well-done; Damien Darkh was an exciting villain; and Ollie publicly establishing himself as the Green Arrow was satisfying. All the elements of the episode came together very well.

Glad it was a decent episode, clear step-up from last season. At least they've learnt their lesson from last season about keeping the big-bad in the shadows for too long. Damien Dahrk had quite a menacing presence this episode and was well portrayed by the actor. Let's hope the show keeps up the quality.

One little thing I like about this whole CW DC universe is Ollie and Barry's brotherhood. I like that they're popping up in each other's shows whether its to fight bad guys or show support. The two shows complement each other very well.

"The world is too small for someone like Oliver Queen to disappear." :awesome:

Lots of stuff going on last night. The Green Arrow speech was all the business, although the cynic in me thought they were going to break it off early kinda like at the end of Age of Ultron.

Seems to be a promising start and a shift from Season 3. Hope it continues. My God, no one in the cast annoyed me last night and there wasn't an absence of purpose. Seriously, let's keep that going.

Please don’t be diggle.

and 3. "I'm very pleased [with the bigger role]. A lot of fans have been saying, "Oh, we want to see more Diggle." Obviously, as an actor, I love getting stuff you can sink your teeth into. At the end of the day, I want to get into the game like any other player. I don't want to sit on the bench. I don't know if that's fully the correct analogy -- I don't want to say Diggle was on the bench. His stories weren't as prominent as other characters. Obviously, every character's story facilitates our hero. Outside of Oliver, I think Diggle's story wasn't as pushed as other stories.
Ramsey went on to explain, "As an actor, and someone who has been in this business for a long time, I totally get that. Writers write for the long haul. They are writing for five or six seasons. We can only be so lucky to do something like "Supernatural" or "Smallville" with 10 or 11 seasons. Writers are writing for the long-haul story. I always knew Diggle's time would come and there would be an evolution of his character that people have been waiting for."

Surprisingly enough, I thought the Season 4 Premiere was all around great, especially when compared to Flash'so Season 2 Premiere.

Though they probably should have stayed with the voice effect for Green Arrow when he was giving his big speech because Amell's regular voice felt pretty high pitched and uninspiring.
