Oh so they are going to go the lovers route with Laurel and Ted Grant instead of the fatherly-mentor route. Of course they are.

To be frank, I'd actually be more or less okay with Ted Grant being made younger in the series, because the JSA should only be done in their full glory as a parallel universe, probably explored on The Flash. Having a pre-existing super-group in the universe they've created wouldn't feel right to me.

It was never "painfully obvious" that it was going to be Ted Kord. Because the character was listed as "a twenty-something entrepreneur" and Ted Kord had already been somewhat established as probably being older than "twenty-something".
