I hope they don't introduce Roy as a drug addict. I know it's an important story, but I just feel it'll not be very engaging in the show.

And on the subject of mortality, Walter, Diggle and ESPECIALLY Detective Lance are much more likely to bite the dust than Speedy.

It looks like Oliver's sister, Thea is going to play that role.

While I'm enjoying the show, I really wish that the narration would go away. I see what they're going for. I just don't like it very much. Also I'd love a lot more time spent as Green Arrow working on his crime-solving/fighting but I understand that that's something that may have to be developed later. I'm hoping the show eventually follows Nikita's footsteps and focuses more on the action and danger than the interpersonal drama that hasn't been all that interesting so far. I hope Deadshot gets more of a focus than China White did last week.

It would be nice and funny to see Ollie messing up from time to time as arrow instead breaking out already as a full on professional.

I don't dislike the narration, but I don't think it's necessary.

Finally saw the pilot last night (we're a little behind here in the UK), really enjoyed it. Had definite vibes of Batman Begins which wasn't a bad thing IMO. Loved the action, the pacing and tone of the show. Some nice twists in there too a few of which I saw coming. Can't wait for episode 2. 8.5/10

PS. Stephen Amell owns as Arrow

Given the terrible ratings for Nikita I doubt they will edge close in that direction, Ollie's relationships with Thea and Laurel will be very central I think.

Well I watched the pilot last night over here in the UK on Sky One and I thought it was really good. One thing I hope they don't start doing is killing off the bad guys each week. I mean I hope China White and Deadshot get away in the next few episodes so that they can appear later in the series.

The show has great story potential... but I hope it gets some better writers.

Some of the dialogue from the pilot was a bit stiff at times.

The CW’s breakout hit Arrow has received a full season pick up.
Bringing in the network’s biggest ratings in years, The superhero adaptation got a 22 episode order. Looks like star Stephen Amell will be hitting the gym to keep up those amazing abs.

good news that I just ran across, but it looks like someone else beat me to it...

well, good news is always good to hear twice... :woot:

Finally got the pilot here in the UK last night, I really enjoyed it, the action was much better than I was expecting and it was more serious and adult than than I was expecting as well, Amell as Arrow was great as well, I will definately keep watching this.

Nikita has terrible ratings? Is this just the third season that's been getting bad ratings? It's only one episode in.

I understand how important these relationships are. It just feels very much like I've been there with Smallville already. It feels very soap-opera-ish. Guess I'm just used to shows where they'll acknowledge the personal issues that they have but realize "We have more important things right now. We'll finish this later."

Ha, I feel the same way about the dialogue and all that. It does sound Soap-operaish to me too. But, I also think it can get better with time seeing as we are only 2 eps. in. The biggest thing I want is for them to eliminate that BS voice-over from Oliver. Aggrevating and pointless.

That's because you're not actively searching for flaws to pick apart, silly. :o

Nikita has never had particularly high ratings, each time it's been close to not getting another season, apparently it has good numbers in Europe which is why they keep the show on, the fact the premiere dipped below a million for a series low has not helped.

Well 2 eps in I guess is too soon to be sure of anything, but this network as a rule caters more to the audience that prefer the personal issues over the adventure story, Arrow will have to balance things carefully with that in mind.

Haha, Actively searching? Hardly, When the voice-over comes it is quite obvious, so there is nothing to "Search" for. I dislike it, one of the only few things I dislike. If you enjoy it, more power to you, I am happy for you. However, I notice it when it happens and I don't care for it.

So far, it's really only been the henchmen(except for the ring-leader of the masked guy who abducted Oliver in the pilot) I'm sure Oliver won't be able to kill off someone like Deathstroke after one meeting.

I am looking forward to Deadshot.

Yeah, with the voice-overs I'm always thinking "I can see you doing that...You don't have to explain it. You don't need to do the Sin City thing. You're not a detective from the 1930s." After reading The Longbow Hunters again I can see what they're going for but it doesn't jive with the feel of the show. It's very jarring from me to go from Smallville to The Spirit. In fact, I'd go as far as saying it feels like two completely different shows when he's in and out of costume.

I love the show. These are just things that are starting to leap out at me the more that I watch it.

Just had a thought wonder if something happens to dead shots face so that if he ever returns he'll wear a mask
