Pleasantly surprised by Laurel kicking that club owner's ass. :woot:

They were definitely hinting at her future alter ego with that little bit.

They need to develop the characters and that involves some human interaction, its not necessarily soap stuff. If the show is just action and villains origin it would get boring fast IMO.
I know what you mean, but if they push the "soap" stuff at the expense of just plugging in new victim-er...villain for him to fight in one action scene near the end, then to me,that would get pretty boring.

I definitely agree but since the show is only three episodes in I see why they are choosing to do that. People have to like the main characters if they want the audience to stick with the show.

Something tells me deadshot will be back. DC has a lot of villains but if they keep using one a week they will run out very fast.

I think the best part of this week's episode was the character moments. I was a little disappointed with the action, especially the final showdown with Deadshot. They had him going out like a punk.

I also didn't like Deadshot's outfit/costume. But for the most part I liked the episode. The guy playing Oliver is finally starting to grow on me.

Random Thoughts:

- I didn't mind Laurel coming up behind the rich guy and punching him. It wasn't too out there. Her taking out trained expert assassins though would have been ridiculous.

- Deadshot is dead. He got an arrow in his eye going right into his head. He couldn't survive that.

- Some of the character scenes are good. Others are blatant time fillers (ex: the mother/daughter scenes, the love triangle stuff).

- Felicity Smoak seems to be the "Penelope Garcia" of this series. She's slated to return in many of the future episodes as Oliver's tech consultant. Potential for a recurring character.

- Funny how most of the main white characters have token black sidekicks; Oliver and Diggle, Lance and Roger Cross, Laurel and that annoying girl, Moira and Walter.

- The Thea stuff is getting old. I'm not sure there is anything useful they can do with her character. She's just there to attract certain demographics on the CW. I'm hoping she's axed after Season One.

Good episode. Deadshot's debut in live action was handled well. He seemed like a real threat. 9/10

The show is 80% awesome. 20% CW. Decent ratio. Hoping it improves rather than declines.

Great episode.

Deadshot was good. The Victor Szasz-esque spin they gave him was cool. I really hope he's not dead, though everything indicates he just lost an eye.

Diggle was really developed this episode. We get to know his potential love interest and learned more about his brother, murdered by Deadshot (Another reason why I think Deadshot will be back).

Laurel finally displayed martial skills, and it was great. I also like her relationship with Merlyn, as doomed as it may be.

Felicity Smoak was fun. I guess she'll become Oliver's oracle.

The island was interesting as usual. Yao Fei is a nice addition and we got our first glimpse of Deathstroke.

Thea and Detective Lance are becoming annoying.

Walter is a surprisingly cool guy. I don't even think he's got something to do with Robert's death and Moira's associates.

All in all, this is a show that'd benefit from a longer running time. It could've been much more well-rounded, but it's still good.

I have a feeling that the Russians will also have some relevance later on, with that family-orientated threat and Oliver passing by a Made Man.

I loved Digs coming back at Ollie with the "white knight" line in response to the gentrification of the neighborhood.

ooooh political.

Bludhaven reference next week is a win. :awesome:

Some nice foreshadowing for Laurel in this ep and I really liked this interpretation of Deadshot - although like China White I wish there was just a bit more time spent on him. The fight felt a bit crammed at the end but that's just a minor complaint for what I thought was another good episode.

Loving this show and I'm seriously crushing on Willa Holland (Thea). :o

Another great episode as we learn more about the Queen family, especially with Thea but it is getting too old as we already get that her relationship with Oliver is antagonistic. Their relationship needs to progress towards understanding and love.

Dinah is hinting at her alter-ego, The Black Canary, when she displays skills against the rich guy. Oliver learns of her relationship with Merlyn yet Dinah revealed that he knew about, which is why he didn't blink.

After last week that saw China White, they introduced Deadshot and like last week the fight between he and Oliver was better than Oliver's fight with China White. We learn the differences between Green Arrow and Deadshot.

Diggs has become the first person to know Oliver's secret as Green Arrow and it ends in a cliffhanger. I wonder if all episodes will end in cliffhangers from this point onwards.

so since it has been picked up for a full 22... does that mean Arrow is taking a break after these 12 episodes... then come back for 22, or just come back for 10?

Well, haven't they referred to episode 9 as the mid-season finale?

Nah. It's usually like 9-6-7

i see. thanks. loving this show so far.

Good episode.
I enjoyed the ending too, as in the very last bit - they certainly didn't take their time with that reveal.

i figured the bodyguard would find out soon. his name always slips my mind, diggs? i'd like him to either show Oliver some things or help out in some other way...

So how will Dinah come about her powers on this show, is she already a meta-human or krypton freak?

Alright, I'm hooked. Missed the first two episodes when they aired. Caught them on The CW's website this week. Just finished watching episode #3. I like the interpretation of GA. I like the use of other DC characters. I'm intrigued by the mystery of what happened to Ollie on the island, what went on in Star City while he was away, what his mother is up to, and Digg's background story. I'm sold...I'm in.

Maybe now with another person to converse with they can cut down on the narration. Some of them just make me laugh the way they're delivered.

Another awesome episode.

Does anyone have a preview for next weeks episode.

Another good episode. And I'm really digging Arrow's theme song as well.

why do people continue to watch things they obviously don't like, just to criticize? its weird to me... Like me watching 'Whitney' just to hate on it.
