So anyone think that Colin Salmon won't be around for the long haul since he's only listed as a guest star, and is currently taking part in the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing over in the UK, so can't exactly film any new episodes of Arrow, at least for the moment?

Pretty sure Diggle's gonna die. He'll probably say something pithy right beforehand like "I was too slow...you need a partner who is a little...speedier."

And all the casual fans will go "Omigod they're gonna bring on The Flash!" but really it will be Ollie's annoying sister.

Does anyone else cringe every time the words "Starling City" are uttered?

Well Huntress...sure has purple in her costume...and a mask...Yep. That's really all I can say there. I can't expect them to adapt the look from the books. That's just unrealistic. So all I have is a disappointed acceptance for this look. I just wish that they were a little more creative with it. As for all the stuff about keeping Ollie serious and the comic book costume possibly coming off silly in real life and even the name of the superhero not being that important (I can accept Star City as a nickname for Starling City), well...when it comes to live action fare I'm continuing to make mine Marvel. When it comes to the comics, though, I'm a DC guy all the way.

This show is a nice look at a possible reality for Ollie, though. I am enjoying it thoroughly as a fan of just good tv.

people actually want trick arrows? like, the ridiculous boxing glove and sh** like that? I think what we've gotten so far (the hacking signal arrows, the grappling hook arrow) is just fine. maybe some tazer arrows would be cool, but that's as far as I can see them going without it looking stupid.

While I don't want a "Boxing Glove Arrow" specifically (yes that would be pretty stupid for this kind of show) I think something like an arrow that explodes on impact, knockout gas, in addition to the tazer and few we've seen already are not that ridiculous to want at all..

I doubt that anyone wants the boxing glove. Basically the ones you've listed would be best. Maybe a net trap arrow, and a multi-arrow shot.

I dunno... one of the criticisms I have seen some people make is the question of where he gets such specialised gear given his limited technical know-how. In which case, the introduction of other trick arrows would cause them to further call foul. At least with the hacking arrow and the recording device, the technology does exist in real life and could easily be cobbled together simply from commercial products and sticking it at the end of the arrow. But with stuff like gas-releasing arrows and the sort, that's a whole different piece of technology that would require Ollie to be building them from scratch.

Also, with explosive arrows, the amount of explosives that could be attached to an arrow would be so small that it would at best only be able to blow the lock off a door or something to that effect.


Overall, I'd say to limit the use of trick arrows to plot-relevant moments much like the show is currently doing. By only using them sparingly, they retain their novelty and cool factor for longer.

Sure it's TV and there is probably limits to what they can do, but I would think they could make the explosion however big they want when it comes down to it.
As far as when, I agree, it would be pretty ridiculous for him to magically come up with these things by next week, but I don't think it's a stretch to attain them over the course of the season(or next for that matter)

I think Huntress will have Oliver consider wearing a mask that may be part of his journey to become the Green Arrow we know.

We may see a foreshadowing of the Birds of Prey between Dinah and Helena.

I agree that Wildcat Ted Grant needs to be in the show and trains Dinah how to fight. He could teach her the superhero trade, along with stories of her mother.

Huntress could take Dinah to "this guy" she knows to get trained.

Diggle will last, mainly because fans like him.

I don't think Detective Lance and especially Walter will have such luck.

Yeah, They have to kill Detective Lance, like yesterday. Can't stand him. Walter is clearly going to die by virtue of knowing about the shipwreck in the tempest warehouse.

Diggle may be is a casualty down the road but I think he's here for a while.

My predictions.

Walter is killed in the the first season finale before telling Oliver something important about Tempest. The investigation surrounding his death becomes a plot point.

Detective Lance is killed by Merlyn in season 2/season 3, to show off Merlyn's newfound evilness. Of course Ollie is framed.

Diggle, if he dies, it'll be in the final season, in a heroic sacrifice.

I think Walter is probably already dead anyway, long before the season finale, simply because he is currently on Strictly Come Dancing (the original UK version of Dancing with the Stars), and he can't be over here in the UK training each day and doing a whole series if there are still episodes of Arrow being filmed over in the US. He did a couple of high kicks today while in a tuxedo, but looked more like that Spider-Woman villain, Daddy Longlegs.

I like the array of trick arrows we've seen so far:

Hacking Arrow
Recorder Arrow
Grapple Arrow

And this is just the first 4 episodes. They will introduce them later across the season/s, but I would love to see:

Stun Arrows
Sleeping Gas Arrows
Tear Gas Arrows
Explosive Arrows
Acid Arrows
EMP Arrows

All of which are realistic and do-able. Also boxing glove arrows are stupid, but just as a shout out to it, maybe Arrow is lying on the ground out of arrows, and has to make the last one really count but non lethally. He see's a glove, a brick, and some rope. He puts the brick in the glove, ties it around the arrow with the rope, and uses it. Badass, if only once

Moira has to die. She's the villain. The Queen family empire is basically being set up to fall like a deck of cards. It was built on corruption and the suffering of others.

Oliver needs to be the last Queen left, and rebuild.
