If the spiders were genetically engineered to produce a special type of webbing, why did the spider bite give Peter his powers? It's not like they were radioactive.
Next, with so many spiders, someone else could eventually get bitten and also become a Spider-Man persona.
It should have been only one spider that had been accidentally involved in an experiment (something to do with radiation or whatever) then that specific spider bites Peter and he squashes it, thereby not allowing any other person to be bitten by it.
Yeah gotta agree with that, the execution was just wrong on their part. They had the more epic scene earlier on in the high school. Focusing on a smaller more personal agenda with Connors probably would have played alot stronger and still would have gave the audience and SpiderMan a strong sense of Danger.I also wish that the lizard wouldn't have had that master plan and they would've focused on the personal side of that story. It felt like the Oscorp tower ganali device thing was just because they wanted this movie's scope to feel bigger, but it really even wasn't. I know that Sony is unable to do that, but this movie should've been the "smaller scale movie with a really good plot"
As much as would have liked to see that, it's probably good that they didn't show him fighting the SWAT team. He was already pretty exhausted and could barely swing. And Connors alone was a tough person to fight. A group of Lizards would have probably slaughtered him.

I actually thought they were gonna show more of the effect of what the Lizard was doing to people. His whole plan seemed rushed and shown too quick without going back. Right when people started turning I thought we were gonna get a scene with Spidey having to fight a slew of Lizards in a battle that would rival the High School scene. But nothing happened. I get setiing that stuff up for a showdown/action scene but they didnt take advantage of it all imo.
Yeah I can see your point. Although I would have bought it. Mainly cause I really wanted to see another action scene like the High School fight. It aslo seemed to me like that scene was set up to play a bigger part. Think I saw it in some concept art for the film as well, I could be wrong though. Wasnt to impressed by the last battle.
A But then again, how does Spidey even know that there are people that have to be cured? He never sees the SWAT lizards anyway
Kinda sad that the high school was more impressive than the final showdown
I guess it was the way it was filmed that made me think that. It just seemed like something that would come into play later in the film. Like an action scene set up. Thought they would start terrorizing and Spidey would have to save some people and battle it out with them.
Its because this is an origin story therefore 90% of the story will go to the superhero. It was the same way with Scarecrow and Ras in Batman Begins. The sequels allow for much more story for the villain.I didn't like that how little we got Dr Connors in this movie. It could've even been the central focus of the movie as far as I'm concerned
the theme was "Everybody has a missing piece. It's how you fill that missing piece that how you define yourself", and that sounds brilliant! If this movie would've been that, it would've been mindblowing, but they wasted their chance with the lizard, which really makes me kinda sad
Already answered your question. Genetically engineered Spiders. Getting powers is simply a byproduct. No different from the Spiders in Raimi's Movie, who were genetically engineered Spiders as well.
I view it the same as Hulk and the Gamma Rays. Everyone else might have died from radiation poisoning, but only Bruce turned into the Hulk.
But everyone else that gets bitten might not get the powers. Maybe the will, but turn more into a Spider creature than Peter, or they simply die. Also it's no different from all the multiple Super Spiders in Raimis Movies. Sure, he didn't have as many as this Movie, but there was still more than one Spider.
yeah you can hear the sound effect for the spidey sense then its just at other times when we should have heard it we didnt is what i didnt like. That was one of the rare times we got to hear it.Many were complaining that Spidey didn't sense that the Lizard was above him during the sewer scene. It appears that he in fact did sense it, cos you can clearly hear the sound effect used for Spider Sense at that moment and then Spidey started to slowly turn and look behind him.
I didn't like the fact that he never ran out of web fluid.
actually he did. When he caught the steel girder from the crane lift he did so cause he ran out of web fluid.
Yeah I dont think he would have gone that far either. The Flash in the comics just liked bullying people and making fun of Parker. He wouldnt have gone THAT far.He later on became friends with Peter in the comics so naturally a thing like Peters Uncle dying would make even a jerk like Flash grow up and be more mature towards him.
For me the things I did not like there actually are very few.Unlike the Raimi films this film had far more positives than negatives. The only three things i did not care for was the continuation of the unmasking of him from those horrible Raimi films.I remember once upon a time the green goblin was the only one who knew his identity. Those good old days are overwith as long as sony has their grubby little hands on this franchise.
The only other gripes I have are was it was unnessary for him when getting startled to leap up and stick to the subway ceiling in front of everybody like that.Spider-man had not made his appearance yet but someone down the road would go to the police and an artist could sketch his face and they could identify him in the future when he starts working for The Daily Bugle.bad choice.Should have had him like get startled at home and leap to the ceiling at home or something like that instead. I also was upset they left out the wrestling scene.
Like I said though,at least this film unlike the Raimi films, the positives far outweighed the negatives. so I finally got a much closer thing to the kind of Spider-Man movie i expected to see and had in mind back in 2002.Thank You so much Mark Webb.you delivered.
i thought that was because they couldn't reach....i think if it ran out he would have tried the other one....or not forgotten that he can jump very far
