I say, why make it What If? If they have a cool idea, make it canon. AC is science fiction, they get poetic license
If it's a fun gameplay experience that contradicts canon stuff, I don't see the problem.I also don't like the idea of "what if?" DLC.
I don't like you.

I agree. It reminds me of tv shows that do "dream" episodes and then the main character wakes up at the end. Not a fan.Well in a game where so much of the experience is engaging story, 'What If?' just seems entirely redundant.
Little torn now. Gamestop is having a special to get $40 in-store credit for a specific 2 games on their list. I was planning to get Skyrim with it as I loved Morrowind. This game looks great though but I've never played an AC game before. Skryim is a safe buy but ACIII seems like it'd be fun without the huge time investment Skyrim needs. Hmm...
I'm down for it just because of how awesome this picture is.look at the picture he has the POE, i think by the ending he gets it and does the right thing , or does he?![]()
From somebody like me, not involved in the Assassins' creed overall story, that DLC is incredibly appealing. I play Assassin's for the really fun gameplay, the story is just a bonus. They can also still make a very interesting story that doesn't necessarily coincide with the canon story. I mean, I can see your point, it just doesn't bother me, particularly.Well in a game where so much of the experience is engaging story, 'What If?' just seems entirely redundant.

New Assassins Creed III Trailer Tells Connors Story
Its no surprise that Assassins Creed III protagonist Conner Kenway has such a grim origin story, but when you consider the ultimate fate of Native Americans, ouch. Thats not promising for anyone.

Theyve said explicitly that that do not want to reveal any Desmond info at all but that it is substantially more Desmond gameplay than ever before
Thats the only thing that could derail this game for me. The Conner stuff looks so damn awesome im afraid as soon as the desmond stuff pops up ill just be counting the seconds until i get back to the Conner stuff. Its been like that for me in all the past AC titles, i just want to get back to playing as Altair or Ezio.
Totally agree. I think the sci-fi element is really cool in theory, but the execution on that stuff is so poor. Every second I'm playing as Desmond, I'm just thinking, "Okay Ubisoft, I get it. Now when I can get back to the good part?"
As long as it's not the same first-person stuff from Revelations, I'm good.
But you bring up a good point Pat, and something I was wondering about earlier. As good as the game looks now, is there anything that would ruin it significantly? Would it be a poor story or resolution for Desmond? Outdated or repetitive controls and gameplay? Short story mode?
