Yes I can't imagine why he would be sleeping with the Avatar on board his ship and you would think that he would be wise enough not to open fire on the Avatar, maybe he had his reasons. I just think it's out of his character.

He wasn't trying to kill Aang. He was trying to stop them from escape. Zuko is still trying to get home.

Yes I know, but still. I just think he acts differently than in the rest of the show. At least that's how I see it.

Yeah, the humor is there, not as funny as TLA, but it's there. The romance aspect of the show makes sense though because they are teenagers, and that's what teens go through.

Yeah, I pretty much stated that 'multi-bending' is unlikely though interesting given everything you stated lol.

What do you mean by "'cut it short' like they did in the first episode

When the Eldest Air-bender kid asked about Zuko's mom and Katara goes 'Well that was a very interesting tale -' then younger sister interrupts and cuts it short.

I don't want another interruption, I just want to know lol

On the matter of Iroh, I did find it a bit strange that he always seemed like the kind of person who never does anything rash and always think things through, but in the second or third episode of season one he does open fire on Appa and the gang when Aang is escaping from Zuko.
I always thought that was very un-characteristic of Iroh.

As DarthSkywalker said, Iroh just woke up. Our judgment and coherence probably aren't at their best first thing upon waking up. Plus, he probably hadn't had his tea yet. I know I'm a little grouchy without that first dose of caffeine. :woot:

Speaking of which, I really REALLY want the new Iroh to be seen enjoying a cup of his favourite drink. And that the drink would be [blackout]coffee[/blackout].

Now, that would be a way to differentiate them: TeaIroh and CoffeeIroh.

And it would make sense too! Zuko, trying to pass on his uncle's teachings and habits to his descendents, would try to get them into drinking tea. Except Zuko's tea-making skills suck, given Uncle Iroh's reactions to them. ;)

Well, it is the first season, he is attempting to help his nephew get home. It makes total sense in the very beginning for him to do that by shooting at Appa.

Later in the series, neither of them can go back, and though it's not a drastic shift in mindset, Iroh clearly gets it before Zuko and that's when even though I'm sure he finds it pointless, he just lets Zuko - impulsive as he is- find out the hard way, and offers advice where he can slip it in settling into the Iroh we see for the majority of the series.

How is this considered anime?

It is not made in Japan by a Japanese animation studio.

Just wondering:?

Oh lol...I got you M.Knight...yeah I want to hear the story too.

I'm on the fence about the whole Buffy-esque soul splitting and Amon being an Anti-Bender. I don't see it going there. However, it's obvious from what he says and his powers he does have a connection with the spirit world. Perhaps he is is the offspring of a regular person and a person possessed by a spirit or spirit itself.

I'm sure we will get a reason as to why he was able to resist the blood bending soon enough. Maybe he has less human blood in him because he has injected the blood from animals or spiritual entities.

Heck Amon might be the offspring of the guru guy from TLA. Perhaps he sees the Avatar as being a cause of the world being out of balance seeing as how the guru had some insight into how the universe works and stuff.

Bumi being Iroh's father would be epic...I want to hear some Tea, uncle, pichu, etc. etc.

It's not really, but draws a lot from anime as far as how they represent emotions, pacing, animation etc. I would consider this anime-rica (see, see what I did there, did you see...see, ah nevermind)

TeaIroh & CoffeeIroh...not bad, but I like General Iroh and Admiral Iroh better. Oh well that's not going to happen now.

How about TeaIroh and RumIroh or PaleAleIroh it is the Industrial age after all lol.

It's all good.

I never watched buffy, so if they go with the split-soul thing, that would be satisfactory for me.

I am sure they'll give a reason that makes sense within the avatar universe, since they are going with a new villain in season 2, they have an hour to do it. Hopefully they don't leave it a mystery.

Bumi as Iroh's son.. If that leads to some of the famous Zukoisms then I guess from Nostalgia's standpoint I wouldn't mind, but that's a little too convenient..

I think I may have figured it out. I was watching Book 3 of ATLA and this episode immediately caught me off guard. Then I did a quick Google search and found someone else may have caught on, as well.

I was debating wether or not to post this, because it seems very plausable (and practical) and if it turns out to be true, I don't want it spoiled for anybody on here.

So click at your own risk.

What it the removal of Bending is an illusion created by Amon? I can see it like those crazy Christian groups who hold giant rallys and "cure" people of their illnesses and handicaps. We even see Amon demonstrate this kind of public broadcast in the Season Finale preview.

Mind. Blown.

At this point nothing that happens this Saturday will surprise me. Amon could claim to be a time bending Avatar from the future trying to stop something even worse and I'd believe it.

I had thought about that. It could be a very good illusion and just some very good chi blocking.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was making man believe he didn't exist.

LOL..What if...and this is big...what if...wait for it...what if....you ready...what if...Amon is really....[BLACKOUT]
[BLACKOUT]Momo[/BLACKOUT]
[/BLACKOUT]...just think about it A-mo-n--Mo-mo...i've got it.

Where are Sokka's kids...you know him and ol' girl made use of the Kiyoshi warriors outfit:oldrazz::wow:

I know I know!! Amon is really just Hiroshi Sato's really cool robot!! There is no Amon. Just a man with broken dreams!

I have seen TLA series many many times now and never thought about that..this might be the most intriguing thing I have heard yet that really doesn't sound completely ridiculous lol.

I always thought Amon was chi-blocking(I've debated whether it was permanent or non), but maybe he is this generations Guru (Not related to Pathik, but a guru nonetheless) Maybe chi-blocking gets rid of it initially and blocking of the light chakra makes the people think they've lost it forever so they eventually lose hope and give up. I dunno something liek that.

Intriguing nonetheless.

I loved the joke about Zuko's mom in the first episode. A nice little jab at the fans and their nonstop asking about the very subject.

I also enjoyed the troll moment. Its something I am curious about but its not something I want/need to know.
