Exactly who in Avatar The Last Airbender was ever animated with epicanthic folds?

If Dragonball Evolution and the Fist of the Northstar feature films weren't enough of a warning that some franchises should NEVER go live-action, I don't know what is.

Zuko, Ozai, Iroh and the fire nation in general always looked "asian" to me.

But the majority of team Avatar? Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph never seemed "asian" to me.

I'd say the Earth nation characters also look East Asian and going back to Asami, her look and style is strongly East Asian to me as someone from Chinese descent; the pale look for females is something that's traditionally coveted over that side of the world especially in high society.

Talking about race, the series is heavily influenced by East Asian culture but I never really thought about them being East Asian until the film debacle; in that instance I didn't have a problem making the fire nation South Asian but I wasn't sure they needed to make both water and air tribe's Caucasian? I didn't see the film so feel free to correct me if the final result wasn't quite down those racial lines; I'm interested to see how badly it turned out!

Azula, Iroh, Zuko, all the Fire Nation characters I can think of had "almond-shaped" eyes. Since the Fire Nation was heavily inspired by Japan, that's hardly surprising. Just compare their faces to Aang's.

I didn't really get the controversy of Dragonball Evolution's casting. Goku is a member of an alien race who seem to be a mix between neanderthals and Kryptonians (and fairly large on average). Though some of the other characters are obviously Asian (or at least from an East Asian-like culture). It was a bad movie, but Goku being white didn't bother me.

The Saiyans never appeared Asian to me, especially with characters with clear Asian features also on the show.

Wow, didn't know this would turn into a huge thing lol. For those of you whom haven't see the live-action...brace yourselves. It's garbage to the highest degree. Anyone who says it wasn't that bad or was okay, is on bath salts, seriously!

That being said, and to wrap up MY thoughts on the race thing. I've always viewed the characters as having some sort of asian/indian (possibly african at times) heritage. I never saw Aang, Sokka, Katarra as caucasian even with their "round" eyes. There are plenty of asians that don't have the assumed almond "epicanthic folds", but that doesn't make them any less asian indian, native american so to say. Along, with Dragonball...yeah Goku is alien, but c'mon now...to me he was always an asian looking alien lol. Who's to say that he has to look "white" to be an alien or because he is an alien he can't look asian? I just find that stupid that when people say oh he's an alien and not asian that he can't look the part, like we are just suppose to assume that humanoid looking aliens tend to look caucasian. We see that in almost every alien movie that the alien beings tend to look like white people rather than any other race. Sorry, but that just gets annoying to me sometimes.

And in all honesty the movie made it worse. There were only about 2 or 3 east asian looking people in it lol and the rest were white, middle eastern or indian. I don't mind the indian or middle eastern characters, but almost everyone was. Bottom line I don't care if the characters are white, black or brown, but don't try to feed me that some characters are/can be white, when everything around them is asian, indian/native american inspired from their names, to the clothes, food, life style etc. This may not be "Earth" but it sure is close.

In the long run, I couldn't give two ****s about the race thing.

The movie sucked. Period.

I think Korra is going Avatar State after she opens he eyes (based off the preview we got). When that happens, eventually, It will be awesome. Other than seeing her airbend, it's the one thing I have wanted to see more than anything lol

Guys, I found out why blood bending didn't work on Amon.
