Wu saving the civilians by singing to the giant badger moles was kind of funny. Finally Mako busts out some lighting bending. The battle against the giant mecha and Korra's final fight with Kuvira were pretty epic. Looking back Korra's growth as a character throughout the series is impressive.

Did Opal die? I remember her going down, but she was never seen again. I gotta watch again to be sure.

It was a good finale, not quite what I envisioned for the end but I enjoyed it. While I enjoyed the fight scenes in the finale, I feel like they were missing one major battle between Korra/Kuvira that would top the Kuvira/Su fight.

Of course this ending pretty much guarantees that Korra/Asami are into each other. The writers showed enough for anyone to get the hint by the end.

I guess they took the call for sisterhood between Korra and Asami after the first couple of seasons a bit... literally. :funny:

She's alive and well. She's seen at the wedding party running to the dance floor with Bolin.

I do question why they don't go all the way. Is Nick really telling them you can't have two characters of the same sex kiss?

It makes me wonder how much Nick knew about this before they were switched Korra to online only. The show finally got great, and they moved it to online only. Considering season 4 was all but done when the announcement came, I wonder if it had anything to do with it.

It wasn't quite Aang and Katara, but it was a very sweet moment. I wish the series as a whole had worked up to it better, but season 4 did a pretty good job.

I'm watching it again on TV. I'm curious to see if there have been any cuts...

Probably because Season 2 happened :P

Because this is still considered to be a "kids" show technically. So a lot of people would throw a hissy fit if they 100% confirmed it (they already are even now). So they went as far with it as they probably thought they could. There's A LOT of implication there, and looking around the vast majority of people seem to have picked up on it. So we have a bisexual POC Avatar in an interracial lesbian relationship. You've always been good at the whole progressive thing franchise, but this was really well played.

As for the other ship, cool with the Varrick/Zhu Li thing. But sex with Varrick must be the weirdest thing ever, and most "inventive:"

Varrick: "Zhu Li, are we going to do the thing with the thing?"

Zhu Li (with devilish smirk): "Oh dear, we're going to do lots of things."

Varrick (with shocked look on his face): "I've never been so utterly terrified yet also completely turned on all at the same time. I like it."

I don't think its Nick telling them that, so much as its the way the ratings system works for a Y-7 show.

As much as it sucks, they likely just can't show that.

It's still a kids show. Showing the same sex kissing is not going to happen.

If anyone is gonna make same-sex love in any media, can it at least be GOOD?

I'm not talking about just Legend of Korra (since I'm way behind on the series), I'm talking about in general.

In fact, bad same-sex stories is one of the reasons I'm wary of certain DC media (other than it being made as bad adult content).

Korra and Asami kissing wouldve been a little much considering how little was shown romantically between the two. There really wasnt much between them until Korra blushed when Asami complimented her. It was more like an ambiguous thing with the letters. If there was more shown then it wouldve been more organic. As it is, holding hands like that seemed more appropriate to me for something new beginning.

Im glad Mako finally used lightning bending. I was beginning to think the writers were just gonna ignore it for some reason. Good hero moment for him.

Did Korra use air bending to protect Kuvira and herself from the energy blast?

Finale was great. Good ending to the series.

Im hoping that they continue exploring the Avatar universe but I wont hold my breath.

I got the sense more that there wasn't much shown because they couldn't show it. They did what they could. Though they really should have started earlier if that was their goal from the start. It seemed like Korra and Asami both just turned gay sometime between Season 3 and 4. Obviously you have people in heterosexual relations before they have a same-sex one, but there wasn't even a hint at it in the first two seasons. So, to me it just seems like another lazy ass pull.

My only complaints are that there wasn't enough Bolin lavabending and there wasn't closure with some of the other characters. I'm glad the show will be recognized for having a the protagonist in an all-but-outright-confirmed same-sex couple.

Now the depression of no more episodes is setting in. We never got to see the Fire Nation or learn who Su's father was [blackout]It has to be Sokka[/blackout].

That was my thing as well. It kind of came out of nowhere and since it happened right when the series was ending, there wasnt much chance to really develop a relationship between the two considering how the series progressed.

I liked the finale, some nice moments all around, a fitting end for this series. And yes, I still want another one, but that's for another time.

Let me put my two cents in on this Korrasami ending.

To me? And only me, this is my opinion. It didn't mean anything. Yes, they held hands, so what? Yes, they looked happily at one another as they entered the Spirit World, again, so what? What's wrong with entering a new world (for Asami anyway) with your best friend right next to you and smiling at them? What's wrong with them holding hands to make sure they're together when they reach the other side? For me? If it was role reversed and it was two guys with their arms around each others shoulders as they entered the portal, would've been no different.

I read an earlier comment that people on "my side" of the fence are in denial. I really don't see it that way. This isn't about denial, or "not wanting" this to happen. I just see it differently. As many have now noted, this has not been a long-term friendship. At best it was started in Book Three, Korra even admitted that she had never had a female friend before, Asami was it, and even then they weren't best of friends yet. That developed as time went on.

Many have noted the blush scene, you're telling me girls don't blush when their female friends praise their looks? Really? I've seen it, plenty of times. Try any dance that they dress up for, or occasion where they are dressed nicely and are told they look radiant by one of their friends. It happens.

To me, again, my opinion, Korra and Asami are the perfect example of the best of friends. It's kind of like a parallel to Mako and Bolin's brotherhood. Korra and Asami are the best kind of friend you can have that's your same gender.

Which brings up my final point. Mako. In this book, both Korra and Asami subtlely showed they still have feelings for Mako, and he for them. This happened right before the Korrasami scene with Mako telling Korra "he'll always have her back", that wasn't a simple friend line. And you could tell Korra felt the same way.

As a friend of mine noted, this ending is open for interpretation. Forget the "this is a kids show" thing, or "Nick wouldn't allow this" throw that out the window and make your own opinion. None can be right or wrong, because they didn't show them kissing, or even leaning forward to do so. They just stood and looked happily at each other. Whatever you believe, believe it, that's our right as fans.

Thanks for reading my monologue, I apologize for it's length. Should anyone have any interest, here is my review of the last two episodes.

Thats another way to interpret it and its perfectly valid, but Im pretty sure the creators meant for the relationship between Korra and Asami to be more than friends in the end.

That's why I'm asking everyone to make their own opinion and stick with it, cause that's what should matter here.

To your ending comment...that's why (if I was to judge that scene in positives and negatives) I really don't want that to be true. Cause I have to ask myself, "WHY did Bryan and Mike make it that way?" I'm not trying to insult anyone, or anything like that, but this would've came out of nowhere to an extent. Book One they were rivals at best, as they both went for Mako. Book Two they honestly didn't interact much, and when they...it was because of Mako. Book Three was when their friendship finally came about, and it was great! Korra needed a female friend, and Asami fit the bill perfectly (for numerous reasons, not the least of which was she rarely got in the main story...). Book Four in my mind only solidified their friendship (and only that), as Korra wrote to Asami, because she knew Asami would respect her wishes and that she could be trusted. What else was there (outside of the blush) to say they were meant to be a couple? That's why I personally can't buy it.

Which brings me back to the question I asked above, "Why did Bryan and Mike make it that way?", or at least if it was meant to be that way. And the only justifiable answer I can think of is...us. The fans, more specifically the shippers who wanted this since Book Three. There's no other reason I can see for it. Now if I was to meet Bryan and Mike, I would ask them about it and get their opinion, but until then, I honestly don't see Asami and Korra being anything more than the pinnacle of true, loyal, friendship.

...dang it! I monologued again. I'm sorry.

it sucks that it's over. i would love to see an animated movie or at least a comic set after the show.

I stopped watching when that little thief kid joined the gang.

So you guys are telling me that Asami and Korra are lesbians? Interesting I guess but that seems to come out of nowhere even without seeing the episodes after that.

Bi probably, unless Mako was just a beard, as I believe the term is.
