I felt that the Midgard Serpent ep was going for something. Something good, but it's all about the execution and it was just off, off, off, off, off. I mean, the animation felt almost unfinished, and the design of the serpent itself felt... Cheap? I can't quite put my finger on it but it seemed subpar to me. I liked a Thor centric story that draws from the myths, but I don't think he really got to shine. When Hulk got flicked away I thought "Ok, now they have to highlight Thor", but no. Also the voice work does not cut it for me. Pasdar is just not right and even if he were, the stuff they have him say either falls flat or is just dull. I am blanking on the name now, but the voice actor for Doom was also not good. I know that actor is a legend among VO artists, but he doesn't fit Doom for a modern cartoon. If anything, that is what this ep was. It's like a SPIDER-MAN AND HIS AMAZING FRIENDS screenplay was found and they "udated" it and changed it to Avengers characters. I was not totally in love with EMH at the start. I was just not fond of the character designs. But I loved the voice work and the writing, and the characters. Cannot say the same for this show.
