He did have one of my favorite moments in the movie, when he meet Groot.

“I am Groot!”
“I am Steve Rogers!”

:funny:
OMG that was so funny. At the showing i went to everyone laughed :hehe:

As a casual fan that just started watching comic book movies due to The Dark Knight, this has to be one of my favorite movies of all time. It's still number 2 for me in regards to the comic book movie genre, as TDK will always be #1 for me, but TDK is more of a crime drama, and IW is the definition of a comic book movie.

I'm not too familiar with all the characters, I try to learn about them as the movies come out, but holy crap IW was soooooo good.

My favorite scenes-
Steve Rogers appearance - the avengers against the Black Order, I loved that fight scene, starting with Scarlett Witch.

Thor interactions with the guardians, and I laughed every time when he called rocket a rabbit.

The entire fight sequence at the end, it was sooooo good....

Thors arrival to earth with Groot and Rocket, and Bucky using Rocket as a second gun.

This movie literally had it all, from being dark to comedy, the entire ending was just sad.

I have to watch it again to actually process it. This wasn't really an avengers movie, but it was Thanos' movie which I'm okay with because Josh Brolin as Thanos is ****ing amazing. Between IW, DP2, Sicario, ****, Josh Brolin is going to have a phenomenal year.

My review:

I’m still kind of processing.

Overall I loved it. I’m still trying to figure out where it falls in my list of favorite Marvel films. It is in the top five though. And despite the fact that I’m a Cap fan first and foremost I thought that Thor, Strange, Gamora and Wanda were really the show stealers of the film.

Thanos was intimidating as hell. Understand him or hate him, his presence was felt.

Cap and Black Panther were criminally underused. But I get it, ensemble film and Cap had a lot in Ultron so it was Thor’s turn and I don’t begrudge Thor that, he deserves it.

The film was way more brutal than I expected. Loki’s death but particularly Vision’s (both of them) was just, wow, they really pushed the envelope of that PG-13 rating. Nebula’s torture scene, too, was brutal.

Poor Wanda. She almost looked relieved when dying. Really liked the Vision/Wanda romance. Really well done. And Marvel doesn’t generally do romances well so that was a nice surprise.

I was also surprised that Disney allowed the snap. Which was essentially genocide. Really pushing the envelope there as well. It’s obvious though, as we already know Spider-Man and Black Panther have sequels planned, that it will get undone.

Peter Parker turning to dust killed me. That last ten minutes of the film was devastating.

Red Skull. That he had to escort others into finding the soul stone but never get it himself was poetry. Brilliant.

I’m disappointed that Bruce came in AFTER the video chat with Ross. I really, really want to see Bruce go off on Ross. If they kill Bruce in A4 before that happens I will be ‘Dursley’s never got their comeuppance’ level of pissed.

I am a bit mad at Peter Quill at the moment. It was interesting contrast to Civil War. Where Stark went mad and tried to kill Bucky. Maybe he’ll understand Steve better now that he’s had to be the calm one dealing with hotheads.

T’Challa has now also referred to Bucky as White Wolf, so that confirms that plot direction. Pretty much seals it.

Rhodey calling for Sam after the snap killed me. As did Steve watching Bucky turn to dust. And Okoye’s face when T’Challa turned to dust. Just that last ten minutes, man. So heartbreaking.

Loved the warrior sisters bonding over battle scene with Widow, Okoye and Wanda.

Overall a great film. Haunting. I'm still pondering over everything, still somber, over 12 hours after having watched it, and that, I think, is a sign of excellent film-making.

When it ended at my theater....at first utter silence....then muttering of anger and disbelief. As I referred to, the people behind me started cursing and saying they were done "with this ****" because they killed Black Panther. That's when I felt I needed to tell them that it would be undone in the next Avenger movie. It appeased them a little....but there was still anger there.

If people really think Marvel is going to kill their newest superhero permanently, the one whose movie made over a billion dollars, then they are being completely naive.

Anyone else think they should have given us the title of Avengers 4 at the end?

Thanos will return...
In
"Avengers 4 Title Here"

I was expecting it, a little surprised they didn't

Just wait til A4... :o

Oh, I have always said he MAY die in A4. But, plenty insisted Cap's time was coming in this one. That is where my HA comes in, lol :mnm:

I was ok with it. I think they really wanted everyone to leaving knowing he won.

My whole audience booed at it. :funny:

Yeah, that's what everyone told we Cap fans about Infinity War. :cwink:

Non-Cap fans thought he'd die in Civil War. Didn't happen. Thought he'd die in Infinity War. Again, didn't happen. Not thinking the film makers are really in a rush to off him, especially, as I keep reminding everyone, two of Cap's biggest moments as a character haven't been achieved yet despite them incorporating those corresponding storylines into the MCU. A) picking up the shield again after being Nomad/The Captain/Fear Itself and giving the quintessential "I wear the flag because I support The Dream™, not the government" speech. And Cap coming back after Civil War, following the Secret Invasion/Dark Reign and defeating Osborn (probably Ross in the MCU) becoming Commander Rogers, the new director of SHIELD and overturning the SHRA (Accords) while granting pardons to everyone who served on his side in Civil War.

Until these things are accomplished, Cap's arc is not done.

Yep....they may be naïve, they could have simply been morons....in either case, I am simply relaying something that happened. It made me worry that such things could be happening in other theaters....but so far no one else on here has reported such things.

I would say that at this moment, Infinity War is probably my favorite MCU film. It gets all the basics right... and some things it does exceptionally well.

1) Thanos is the spine of this movie. It was a brave choice, and the right choice. Brolin really does a great job with his face and voice. And yeah, Thanos has a genuine point... we might be hearing something similar in 50 years about our own population overgrowth. I partly think that's why it's so compelling... it's actually relevant to our world a little bit.

2) The pacing, OMG! I have to give the Russos so much credit for not listening to the haters. I'm sure there were plenty of people who said that a movie like this couldn't exist. That you can't rely on audience attachment with only 1-2 drama scenes for each character, and the rest action. But they leaned into the serial nature of these movies, and it pays off! We don't need a lot of scenes, because we are already invested. That gives us permission to go full steam ahead from the get go, and I find it really powerful and fun. Jeeze, those 2.5 hours flew by.

3) The last 30 minutes are just some over the top, awesome fanboy service, that is so appreciated. I'm not sure if I can think of an action piece that really tops it. The Phantom Menace comes to my mind as comparable. It's like they threw a stick of dynamite in the last 30 minutes of the film, and it's powerful.

Negatives.... which are easier to point out, because so much of the movie was good.

Personally, I wasn't a fan of the Storm breaker creation plot. Just me. I didn't like how Thor just survived the Sun with no explanation, and I thought Drinklage's character was a tad too awkward for me.

Hulk was taken out too easily IMO.

Too much joking around in the first half for me.

I feel like the post credits scene creates more questions than answers, and I wasn't a fan.

highlights....
Thor kicking serious butt in Wakanda.
"I am Steve Rogers."
the Soul stone scene was magical
The Titan battle and moon throw, wow.

Well, my concern is that they'll be members of the GA who really aren't into the comics and really will think that they just straight out killed Billion dollar money makers.

We know they're coming back, because Disney/Marvel/ and Sony aren't that stupid or crazy .

But from the pov and people who don't follow this production stuff , the GA in the past two years have been exposed to Superman being killed and Luke Skywalker dying, neither of which have been totally met with positive feedback to put it mildly .

So I can see how the average Joe or Jane could think they weren't coming back, even though that thought has never crossed my mind.

And then they'll go online and all will be revealed.

I heard some dissatisfaction in my theater as well. My concern is that you'll have some bad word of mouth by members of the GA who really think that the film is a bust because, they really think that they're gonna walk away from billions of dollars.

And then they'll find out there's a part 2 and feel stupid.

Came here to say I love everything about Thor on this one. They FINALLY made him a standout in an Avengers film.

I mean, come on, say you're one of these people who is so upset at the "deaths" that they start bad mouthing the movie (probably on social media). And then someone (because someone will) points out that there's a part two as well as all the other movies that are coming out (BP2, Guardians 3, Spiderman 2, etc). Would you not feel like a complete idiot? I would. And anyone reading those comments would.

The Russo are big into New World Order...and it's evident of that in all three films they have done for Marvel.

You seem to be under the impression that all the world thinks like we comic book/superhero fanboys do. WE see or hear something superhero related and run to the internet and search for anything on it. Most of the rest of the world see or hear something superhero related and say COOL or BUMMER and then go back to doing the laundry and turn on NCIS.

I disagree. The world is more online now. Even if someone posts something on their Facebook page about how they're disappointed in the deaths, someone will correct them. It won't take long for everyone who is upset to know that a part two is coming out.

It's why these movies spend so much on marketing. Because people do pay attention.

Came here to say I love everything about Thor on this one. They FINALLY made him a standout in an Avengers film.

And I think we have Waititi to thank 100% for that. This Thor is the one we got in Ragnarok, not the dull, Shakespearean, one dimensional character from every movie before that. He gave Thor a personality, which made him connect with the audience so much more. People now love him, so when he shows up in Wakanda, it’s the best moment of the movie.

Thor is the God of Thunder, basically got some Odin Force in Ragnarok. He is clearly the strongest hero the sun isn't going to incinerate him.

Thanos had the power gem already so everyone should be easy to beat. Love Hulk but he had to be tossed to the side to pump up the wow of Thanos.

What credit scene ever answers? They are always setting up the next thing.

Did we ever see Thanos using the Soul Stone?

Not individually but I expect it will be looked into more. The Soul stone made the snap possible though along with the other stones of course but I don't think the dying could have happen without it.

Quite a few reviews I’ve seen are saying that Thanos is the central character in this movie. It’s his movie, not the Avengers. I completely agree.
