Whys everyone happy that they can drop the X-books now?

I'm still choosing to ignore these Bendis rumors until there's any kind of official announcement, especially since pretty much no one else besides these guys have reported them.

Bleeding Cool is pretty reliable though. I wouldn't expect an announcement until the end of the summer. I'm sure they'll announce the new writer of the Avengers at the same time.

I respectfully disagree. Sure there have been some lousy books like X-Men, Deadpool, and Uncanny X-Men has been rather average. But Uncanny X-Force and Wolverine & the X-Men are two of Marvel's best books. And I find myself having lots of fun with X-Factor, Wolverine, and New Mutants.

Uncanny X-Men has been on quite an upswing since Fraction left. Gillen's done a fine job on the title.

I honestly feel that almost every X-title is leaps and bounds better than it was a year ago (save Uncanny X-Force, which is still finding its footing in this post-Dark Angel Saga stage).

As for Bendis taking over the X-Men... I'm iffy. I like the idea of him on cosmic better but we'll see how it plays out.

So Bendis is taking over the X-men?As long as it doesn't effect the books I read (UXF,X-men:Legacy and Wolverine) I'm cool with it.I can see him taking over Uncanny and plain X-men.That should be enough for him.

UXF and WATXM have been the bright spots recently. Gischler's X-Men wasn't very good and Gillen's has been underachieving on Uncanny compared to his other works. The problems with the X-line goes way back to the House of M and Decimation.

Uncanny X-men this year for me has been the best X-title. The Gillen/Pacheco combo has been REALLY good for the series. UXF was great last year but it lost me a bit with that Otherworld arc

Otherworld was a good story, the art ruined it.

^I wasn't bothered by the art personally.
I thought it fit Otherworld pretty perfectly.

And I still can't get into Uncanny, even the recent arcs people said were great, I was just kinda "meh" on them. Uncanny has always been my less-favorite X-Book.

Wolverine and the X-men would get my vote for best X-title of the year

I'm not happy about it. In fact, I'm pretty upset. However, rather than moan about it while still planning to read the comics (like 90% of all people wgho read Avengers and hate Bendis do), I've decided it's better to just abandon ship.

i fell x-force is starting to find its footing again. I like the cost of killing that is shown in it as the team starts to unravel. At first i hated the idea of X-force since it seemed to be just about amping up the body count, but it has gotten way better in showing where that can lead. Also love that wolverine has gotten alot of development through it and watxm. Uncanny has been alot better lately as well. I will even go as far as to say that the X-Men franchise has been alot better then anything happening in Avengers in the past year. Which is why the Bendis rumor worrries me. We get him we end up with Logan as a 1 demensional killer again, and storys with no climax or any real impact.

I actually can see a West Coast Avengers revival with half the members consisting of X-men and the other half being Avengers. They could relaunch it as X-Avengers or something like that
