The Dark Knight Based On The Ledger Casting - Who Do You Think Will Be Cast As Dent?

Kind of how I feel about Ledger right now. :( But hopefully my fears will disappear when more stuff comes out.

I think Ledger is a great actor, but I'm not sure how he'll fair as the Joker.

I really doubt he can conjure the same voice talents as Hamil, though.

hold up...who rates Butler enough to consider him over rated, apart from me I don't even think he's been mentioned as a possibility for the role.

Surprisingly, a few other people have mentioned him.

I found his performances in Brokeback Mountain and Casanova to be mumbletastic. :( And he is not how envisioned Joker in my head but we will see.

his performance in Brokeback is heartbreaking. :(
he's also really good in Brothers Grimm, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Lords of Dogtown.

schrieber wont be cast now that ledgers in the movie.

schriebers with heath ledgers ex girlfriend of 3 years, naomi watts, and watts and heath had a big old break up. i dont think schriebers too interested in working with him.

i'm sure he wouldn't let this affect what would be the biggest and best movie of his career...unless he was an idiot

Garrett Dillahunt for Dent Damnit! I wish I could make a manip. But as a huge Deadwood fan his performances as Jack McCall and Francis Wolcott have me convinced he would make an awesome Harvey Dent. It would give him a big career boost.

I’m skeptical about the ledger thing but I have a feeling he will pull it off

I cant say there is any current better choice for the penguin than Phillip Seymour Hoffman I think he's almost perfect for the job if he can pull off the voice acting.

Two Face –is not as hard a role to play as the Joker but its still a hard role. It would be cool if they gave Edward Norton (Primal Fear\Fight Club\American History X\The Score) the role because he definitely has the most experience in this type of character but I don’t think he has the look nor the voice so I don’t know about him (plus his recent roles kinda stunk). J. Phoenix is definitely a good choice he is an amazing actor and at the same time he wont take all the shine away from bale. I think Clive Owen definitely has the look of Harvey Dent and I’m sure he could do an amazing job as Dent but I don’t know about two face his voice acting would have to be improved alot he has no character in his voice, but acting wise I’d say he’s the best for the spot.
#1-Clive Owen\ Edward Norton #2- J.Phonix #3 Guy Peirce #4 Liev Schreiber

how can you say that they don't sound like the character? what do the characters sound like, its from a comic, it's the actors job to create a voice that represents the tempermant of the character and the events they go through.

how's about Dillan McDermott from "the Practice"???

He already has experience playing a lawyer...AND I think he has his law degree in real life.

Plus he looks like HArvey to me

Thats true, they should be able to portray the voice the way they see fit to the scenario

-I still have the Voice from BTAS playing over and over in my head and come to think of it Owens voice would probably match up well with Two-Faces. But if you saw Inside man\ King Arthur\Sin City you can notice that his emotions aren’t expressed so well with his voice at least thats the way I saw it (especially when he was wearing a mask in Inside Man), and he’s never really altered that his tone of voice for a character he’s got the same tone in all his roles. Norton has kind of a weasel like voice and I cant see that as Two Face, but I think Norton’s Voice acting is better than most so you never know, and unlike Owen he’s changed his style of voice acting before (The score\Primal Fear\American History X) but then his regular tone of voice that you can make out in most his roles are more like what he sounds like in Italian Job, Fight Club and 25th hour. I’m an animator so I think voice acting is pretty much the most important key to the success of the character but especially with a character like two face you’re going to have two different personalities and two different voices and so far Owen hasn’t really altered his voice for any of his roles but that doesn’t mean that he cant do it.

I think owen's roles so far have not demanded a need to alter his voice as he's mainly played the strong alpha male and he's voice practically fits it perfectly. Norton on the other hand has played a large variety of roles and is known for being more of a chameoleon method actor a la johnny depp. However for a character like Dent it is not really a change in voice that is needed but a great deal of emotion needs to be expressed through his voice and as I can't see the two face transformation to happen till the next movie we need an actor who can show the gradual decline of Dents psyche , we need an actor who can express an arrogance and vanity yet enough of a heart to empathise and this needs to gradually alter as his scarring effects his mental state and begins to awake the evil in him. If they go the route of an already mentally disturbed Dent

i would love to have Owen or Norton portray Dent.
Norton more so. i think he's a better actor and better looking.

frankly I really can't see either Owen's too overpowering and norton's too puny although I could seen norton alot more given his strong performance in American History

i was just going to say, Norton can pack on the weight easily.
i think that both of them have a right vibe for Dent, but very different ones.

i want Norton more for the role between the two of them because i feel that for my favorite version, he is perfection.

my problem with Norton is I want Dent to be a suave ladies man to show just how much he loses when his face becomes scarred and somehow i can't see Norton bagging all the ladies

i want Dent to be an already fractured soul and the accident just spilts the two personalities.
think a hybrid of TLH and BTAS.

:)

YeaH that’s the only drawback I see from casting Norton as Dent. And I guess his body mass

Yeah, Owen’s roles really haven’t required much voice altering but still to me after seeing his performances (which don’t get me wrong are pretty damn good). He doesn’t seem like an actor that can change the emotions of his voice so well but you never know they could play his regular voice as Two-face (which would par up pretty good ), and he could do a simple tone for his role as Dent

I'm okay with phillipe as Dent....but Hoffman Dammit! for Penguin

I'm really okay with phillipe as Dent, he's truly grown as an actor as his performance in Crash has shown and he was even good in cruel intentions and gosford park, I think the people who are hating him are only saying it because they have only watched his teen films.

Hoffman i don't know really, I think this is another ledger debate as it's going to be Nolan's interpretation which is going to be very different from what we know in the comics so we just have to trust his decisions and his visions

i wouldn't mind Hoffman as Penguin, but i'd prefer Bob Hoskins or Joe Pesci.

eh...his accent wouldn't bother me too much.
seeing as how Batman's world is steep in noir and Pesci did Goodfellas, amongst other crime centric movies, and yadda yadda yadda. baddabing baddabomb.

To be honest I haven’t really seen much of Philippe except crash, but if he gets confirmed as Dent then I guess Ill watch some of his other movies,
I think Hoffman is a really good choice for penguin
Joe Pesci is one of my favorite actors but he’s only good at what he does best (mob movies) but just cause the penguin is a mob boss doesn’t mean he can play the role,he's pretty much the same type of character in Godfellas, Casino and Raging bull and I don’t think that type of character suits the penguin.
If he does the same type of acting he did in Once Upon a time in America then maybe it would work out better.
