Is the 3rd Batman movie on track for a 2011 release? I dont think so.

2011 is already too crowded. It's bad enough Paramount is rushing to get TF3 out that summer. No need for WB to do the same for Batman 3. I want Nolan(if he returns) to take his time on this.

Actually this rumor is getting stronger everyday.

I would say 2012. 2010 is around the corner and we have no news what-so-ever. Looks like 2012 at the earlyest!

2012 is definately the earliest. At this point last time (late 2006), casting announcements had already been made, principal photography was about 6 months away, Nolan's inbetween film had been released (The Prestige) instead of him still working in post on Inception. I can't really see Nolan making an official announcement until at least the spring when he is finished with that.

Possibly. I guess it's a case of how big Nolan is thinking, and how long it will take to do.

We're nearly in 2010, and we haven't heard a whisper about any developments on Batman 3. A 2011 release is a pipe dream, IMO.

He came out and said filming on another Batman movie would start next year when he was quizzed on Batman 3. He then later rectified his comments and denied it would start shooting next year.

Either way, coincidence or not, something must of prompted him to say it. Whether it was just a brief conversation or assumption with the relevant parties, or something a little bit more official, we won't know.
