Batman: Arkham Origins - Part 1

Guys, the thugs with the masks from their bosses is straight out of the comics. And as for being over the top...it's Batman, for God's sake. A Batman who is twice the size of a normal man.

I rather see them in masks&face paint than most having the exact same face&body and even hair styles!

It'd probably take a long ass time&work to design every single or even just most thugs differently.

I wouldn't ask for anything that different from what they've already offered us. Even with the masks it's clear there is only so much variation in the goons looks. I think you'd have the same effect if they weren't wearing masks. There still would be a certain amount of variation between goons. I'd just prefer a style that wasn't so 'on the nose' about them being Joker goons or Penguin goons.

Personally I think the Black Mask goons in the pic posted by Craigbfan would look better without the black masks.

So we should have a scene where Batman and Robin are in bed in their pajamas? That's straight out of the comics as well.

But seriously, I don't get what the big deal is about suggesting a different style be used for the goons. The comics themselves have shown many different styles and tones and not every henchman has dressed up in a mask modeled after their supervillain boss.

Yeah it's far from all the batman comics that the goons of the super-villains all wear masks to show their allegiance.

I think it actually sticks out more for Roman's gang due the fact he's one of the less "out-there" villains really despite the mask he wears. He's really just a gangster at heart and i think his guys would look more low-key than joker gang members for example.

I don't mind seeing a specific look for the various villains goons, but there are times I wish they chose a better look. I don't think the grunts need to wear masks that are modeled after the villain they work for. They could just have an overall look that's still clear about who they're aligned with, but doesn't feel so 'on the nose' about it.
well I think it's more of an issue of how street gang's act now and days in the real world too. Most people in them are not really Bright at all, and make them selves well known with what they wear. like certain bandana's and certain tattoos they have on them, and send shout out's as to who they belong to.. It's too common and has been around for a very long time and we still have this

The Warriors rages onto PSN next week as PS2 Classic

The Warriors, Rockstar's 2005 game based on the 1979 cult movie, is coming to PSN next week. As per typical PS Store updates, it arrives in North America on May 28 for $9.99, and then in Europe the day after for £7.99/€9.99.

Rockstar Toronto reportedly worked on a spiritual successor to The Warriors,an Xbox 360 game called We Are The Mods. According to CVG, it was similar in style to The Warriors' urban brawling, but set in mid-1960s England, during the Mods and Rockers era.

Since that never came to fruition, the closest you're going to get to a current-gen Warriors game, outside of CTXM's The Warriors: Street Brawl, is next week's re-release. Like all PS2 Classics on PSN, it's only playable on PS3.
to partially thank for it. it's just how both thugs in fiction and their real life counter parts are. They are not smart. At all and if they are they are not thug's they're the ones running the thugs cause they were smart enough to stay in school longer then those fools . Lets keep that in mind when they come out to playay ya. lol.

I understand the complaints on the masks and I don't like them much either But just personally prefer them than a big group of thugs that has same body builds/faces&hairs as I said before with only difference being cloths,I'd get way more distracted&put off by that.

The game is already over the top in so many ways and so thugs having masks&face paint to represent their bosses is just not a big deal to me.

I guess you haven't heard of Black Mask's False Face Society, then.

I like the masks for super villain gangs. Some unaffiliated criminals won't wear masks, some working with them will. I'd like to see other styles of other gangs along with TwoFace, Joker, Penguin thugs returning. Not all of them, but at least some. I think it'd be awesome if Scarecrow had a gang with more people dressed up like the Easter egg in Arkham City.

Also be cool to see what a Freeze thug looks like (anyone posts a picture of Batman and Robin and I will kill you :oldrazz: )

I don’t mind the gangs wearing masks, a visual identifier for factions. It’s in the comics, and I think it works in a game. Never had a problem with it.

You don't have to kill them - just don't save them. :oldrazz:

Yea from a development standpoint its just easier. You dont have to render that many different faces. It allows them to use that dev time to focus on other areas.

I don't know if this has been discussed, but could this be the "more true-to-the-comics" Bane?

I hope that is "more true-to-the-comics" Bane. He should definitely be one of the assassins Batman has to deal with.

Luchador mask, and you can see what looks like two pipes coming out of the back of his head.

I'd say that's Bane.

Yup Bane to me too and I like it,Looks simple But effective anyway

from what i've read, the Bane in this game is more true to the comics which is great to hear

wasn't really a fan of super mega mutant steroid Bane from the past 2 Arkham games

Glad to hear we are getting a better Bane. He was the only character in the games so far to be bad. Yes, there were some villains that were done better and had more time devoted to them than others, but none of them were bad other than Bane.

Well played, good ma'am or sir.

I hope that is Bane in the picture. I'm surprised the guy's heart didnt give out from his size in the other games. That couldn't have been healthy.

Based on what exactly from that image?
Randomly RE6 looking at this image, cause it has the most recent memory of games with shooting mechanics, and that game could use plenty of improvement

Then thinking this is coming from a studio I never played a game they produced, Warner Montreal.
I won't looks at Rocksteady as a good example to be less concerned, cause their second game (Arkham Asylum) annoyed me plenty of times on both PC and PS3, Arkham City is a massive improvement

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2842418/

I was looking at imdb's page for the game, I saw the cast I saw Chris Cox voicing Deadshot was he confirmed? I wonder who's voicing Deadstroke? And Conroy is voicing older Batman.

I believe anybody (fan or otherwise) can edit IMDB... and thats all guess work or flat out rumours. I noticed somebody has claimed the same thing on Conroy's wikipedia entry.

Not to mention on Twitter, Conroy flat out said he wasn't in ARKHAM ORIGINS.

Roger Craig Smith (Batman) and Troy Baker (The Joker) are the only confirmed actors at the moment.

NEW THEORY

If (and it's a big IF) Conroy is doing some kind of Flashback voiceover..then perhaps this will somehow tie into Arkham 3 in that the prequels will begin being a series that ties into the sequels.

It would make sense if the folks who write Assassin's Creed are writing these. I know the developers are WBM and RockSteady buy Geoff Johns oversees all this from a story/brand perspective and if they want these annually it'd make sense to use them as vehicles for each other.

Yeah true,Plus I'd just be pretty awesome to hear Conroy's Batman narrate the opening&closing cut-scenes in Origins and future prequels.

The bookending voicework would be terrific, but, sadly, it is not happening.

Shame...

WB Montreal just came in a did their own thing entirely. Rocksteady did all the hard work though.

I give them points for trying to make the entry unique, considering how much of the work Rocksteady for them (in terms pre-generated models, maps, and writing.) Off-topic, but I hope there will be a nice clutch of Easter Eggs in the game (I know patient recordings are not going to be present, but I hope the studio will find their own analogue to it. Wiretaps?)
