I tried getting the no damage trophy during the Shiva fight, failed. Tried it like 15 times in a row. Played around with different tactics as well.

Ignoring Shiva and going for the ninjas.
Ignoring the ninjas and focusing on Shiva only.

Nothing works.

:(

Yes! Managed to get the Deathstroke Trophy for not getting hit once on New Game Plus, which has no icons. Damned hard too.

So NG+ takes away the counter indicator? And here I was thinking I'd have a better shot at getting the Shiva trophy in NG+. I should have waited on that fight.

I think it's the best fot he three. the scope is way bigger, but most of all, it's the only game that is really well written. While I was disappointed by the twist when I read it, it definitely works in the context of the game. I was sick of joker overexposure, but it's not your random joker like in asylum or City. This time, he's a legitimate threat, and he is so well written and played, it's like rediscovering him again for the first time. Imo, we're talking TDK level of brilliance when it comes to Joker and his first encounter with Batman. The writing is really smart and the performance is amazing.

I also love how well written Bane is. He's really scary in this one, and they manage to make him interesting, while giving a reason as to why he's so dumb and uninteresting in the other games.

Origins wouldn't exist without Rocksteady oustsanding work, but WB Montreal made this universe its own, took everything that existed and made it better, especially when it comes to narrative and characterization. Character interactionw are simply awesome. Alfred/Bruce relationship is so emotional. Batman's characterization is incredible, unlike Asylum and City where he was so bland. Gordon feels like a real person as well, and I love how they build their relationship.

I'm truly amazed by how great this game is.

Yeah, people shouldn't be concerned about the Joker re-appearing yet again, because the Troy Baker performance was so great, not to mention the writing is just flatout great. It's Batman's origin in a Hollywood blockbuster way.

Joker hasn't been so interesting since TDK and Morrison's Run. The story is probably what works best in the game. They also changed Joker and Gordon's voice in the french version of the game. Funny thing is that Joker has now his french voice from TDK, and the writing is really similar, so itdefinitely works.

Eh, I'm still annoyed. The Joker in this was fantastic, and the relationship between Batman and Joker, particularly Joker's perception of the freefall scored to the Theiving Magpir, is in my top favourite Joker moments ever. However, the hiring eight assassins thing would have been better as Black Masks plan, which Joker took over later, and the clumsy attempt to retain the Joker at the end as the villain led to a faulty climax in which the 'will Batman kill a man this depraved?' was rehashed for the umpteenth time. A final fight with Bane in the batcave would have been the perfect ending.

The game is still my favourite of the three, but I feel it becomes its most faulty when trying to shoehorn Joker in as the end-game baddie, and in making him responsible for everything in such a way that Black Mask gets nothing. Other than that however, the writing is brilliant.

Has anyone else come across a missing Enigma Data Handler in the Industrial District?
He's the one on the steel mill and directly below the words "Industrial District" when looked at on the map.
He was missing yesterday and again when I loaded up this morning.
Sorry if this has been asked before

So what was Bane's goal here? It seemed like there was more going on for him than just the bounty. Was Ra's Al Ghul testing Bane?

I honestly don't know.

Early on, it seemed really personal. But then Bane's willingness to go along with Joker's weird death plan seemed to be completely out of character with everything he'd done previously.

UK Sales: Batman: Arkham Origins tops charts, sales half those of Arkham City

Batman: Arkham Origins has made its debut at the top of the all-format weekly chart, despite selling half as many copies as its predecessor Batman: Arkham City

Week one Arkham Origins sales are comparable to the original Arkham Asylum release, and well short of LEGO Batman: The Video Game, which remains the best-selling Batman game in the UK.

Regarding Bane:

He wished to kill the Batman as his aristeia, fulfilling his desire for dominance before he died or was destroyed by the venom addiction he could not break. Simultaneously, he was also okay and even hoping for death, so that he could finally meet his end at the hands of an implacable foe, the only acceptable end for Bane, not, again, slow destruction from venom.

which is also some great writing imo. I loved this take on Bane. He was downright scary in this one, instead of a dumb joke.

It doesn't really change the fact that they keep relying on him to carry on the game. He's a "safe bet", which is a shame. Forcing him into the role like that was a blemish in an otherwise well-written game.

Though the true test of it will come in the third Arkham game. It's one thing hijacking the plot in a prequel game, but showing up after his death would just reek of pure hack writing.

I have made my piece with the Joker's inevitable presence in A3. My only requests are that a) Baker returns b) his return mechanism is anything but cloning. I hate clone plotlines.

By the way,I acquired the Riddler trophy at the bottom of Hatter's building, but still have not been able to reach the one on top of the steeple? of the roof. Which building does one have to grapnel boost of to reach it? I am utterly stumped, and this is one of the few trophies that is hindering my progress (I am at 76%.)

I completed the main story and wow. This is by far my favorite Arkham Game. That is saying a lot since I loved Arkham City. I think the storytelling is just so great.

I haven't seen this touted as much but the sequence where Batman goes through what happened at Lacey Towers was awesome.

I also really enjoyed some of the different aspects to Batman' fighting styles. I enjoyed his counters (especially his kicks) and thought his takedowns of the enforcers are pretty great.

I think within their story, things made a lot of sense. I do kind of wish the end would have worked out a bit different with:

Joker leading the Blackgate breakout by himself and Batman and the player thinking that was the end only to arrive at the Batcave to then discover Alfred injured and Bane ready for a confrontation. Even if Batman would've won and his Bane not breaking his back it would've been better as they could've fought to outside Wayne manor with Bane eventually being sent into the water and drifting away as Batman looks out from the cliffs at Wayne Manor looking out to Gotham City to look ahead as his future as Batman with these new kinds of villains and new allies.

Having said that, the end still really worked for me and I think it was really awesome.

Did anyone else really enjoy getting to wail on the Joker?

I've completed all but the Enigma Most Wanted missions and am looking forward to getting to that.

I only had the game freeze once, although it was when I finally defeated Deathstroke. Any of things in terms of framerate I might have missed but otherwise it's played well for me on Xbox 360.

I really hope this isn't the last Batman game we see from WBM as the pre-Asylum era could be really fun to explore.

If Joker is in A3 my guess would be a way of "haunting" Bruce as he fights someone like Scarecrow.

I really want some of these skins, the new 52 especially, but I love the hell out of the default suit. It's prob my fav Batman look save for the Burton suit. It's makes me not ever wanna go back to the Asylum/City look.

Same here.

It kinda looks like a hybrid version of TDK/TDKR and Arkham Asylum/City. I know it'll be unpopular to say, but I think I like the batsuit in this game even more than the previous Arkham batsuit.

And so far, I'm very much enjoying the story in this game. Right now, I've solved the double homicide in Lacy Towers...which has led to an interesting wrinkle in the story they've set up, and now I'm headed to the Bank. I'm really enjoying the characterizations, and just how Bruce seems to be approaching his war on crime right now. His view of the GCPD, and even Gordon, as being an obstacle that's simply in his way and how Alfred voices his opinion that they could be an asset. The young and brash Batman we're getting here is really interesting to me.

The detective/ crime scene investigation stuff is also alot of fun to see unfold.

Sucks to hear about the stability issues people have been having with the game, though. I had the game hardlock on me when I fast traveled out of the Batcave, and had to reboot my system. Aside from that and some weird stuff, like grates not being smashed entirely, I've been fortunate to not have any bugs. I'm on the PS3, as well.

I'm right there with you and I loved the other Batsuit.

I really enjoyed this game. The story was very, very good in my opinion. It is very similar to Arkham City, but I find it better. Maybe not in every way, but it's definitely better.

They never should have flipped L1 and L2. I'm still not used to it. I read a lot of things like there isn't any attention to details, but I see a lot. With how much brighter the game is, I really don't recognize much of the Arkham City half of the game. It looks great to me. Also, the boss fights are the best in the series so far. Makes the game worth it in every way. Very fun game.

Anyone else get the Collector's Edition? Found a secret compartment on the back with a secret evidence bag for end game spoilers. Cool stuff.

He'll be back.

Even if it's not A3, he'll be back. I could see them hinting at it, or there being some twist, in A3 concerning his return...without him being the main or even a villain in the game.

In comics, dead is "dead", not dead.

Theres a building with gargoyles like two buildings away from it, Grapnel boost off the gargoyle, divebomb, then pull upwards, this will give you enough height to glide to the landing where the data pack is.

Hmm. I don't think I'm very far in the game, but so far the story has felt more organic to me. Right now, I'm supposed to head over to the Bank. And the game hasn't felt like a fetch quest at all to me, which I'm happy with. So far, it's basically been Batman solving a crime...and following leads. So, I'll say that so far I haven't felt like errand boy at any point...yet. In Arkham City, I've gotta say I felt like an errand boy at times needing to do some fetching for people. No idea if that holds up the rest of the story, but I've certainly felt like Batman in this. I really enjoyed the Deathstroke fight. I feel like they did that fight, and that character, justice. One of the pitfalls of having a character like Slade go up against a character like Batman, is not making either seem weak because of how good they are at what they do. So, making it a close fight and making it possible for us to get our asses handed to us was impressive to me. That can be a tough boss fight, and it can be a tough one to create, and I was happy with what we got.

And yeah, I got the CE. And I'm really intrigued by that hidden bag in the back of the Joker statue.

And it specifically reads not to open it until you beat the game. Driving me nuts not being able to open it until I do.

Thanx!!!

Agreed, it is very organic. I've only really beaten the main story, but it holds up as so until the end. It's actually the first Arkham game I felt every part of the main story had purpose and had me wanting to see what's next rather than fetching items.
