Batman: Arkham Origins - Part 6

I've sent you the pm for whatever reason they did it they said it was clear of issue's and bugs at the time. But they should of done what Ubisoft does and just had been more care full. Despite any complaints from the fan base . They had a short dev time period then most being a new studio and all.

The game is still great besides that. But they should have pushed it back a bit. Being that they are new.

Ubisoft isn't exactly the best example, not after ACIII.

Maybe not but at least they try and that's better than having complaints like this. It was a mistake and hopefully it'll be a lesson to all sides. It's better to have it pushed back then released with bug's.

I agree with you 100% on that. Push it back if you have to. It is why I adore Value. It is done when it is done. I still wonder what would have happened if Uncharted 3 had got the extra time it clearly needed. I hate hard release dates for video games.

Ok course it is more then that, but they didn't build this from the ground up. I have never played the WiiU version of City, but apparently they did the port and it is also buggy.

It is clear they didn't quality test this. It is crazy really.

It doesnt matter. Its still new code they are implementing. Bugs are going to pop up REGARDLESS if you are using existing assets or not.

I agree on the QA portion though. Its evident they didn't spend the time they should have, but that was prob out of their control.

When they fix one thing, it feels like they break something else. You couldn't finish the game for awhile.

And then there is the Worst Nightmare challenges...

That happens quite frequently with bug patching(very frequently in sports titles) and a big reason why MS and Sony both require their own assessment of a patch before they put it out.

So they were basically completely wrong? Because this is extreme. When they fix one thing, it feels like they break something else. You couldn't finish the game for awhile.

And then there is the Worst Nightmare challenges...

I'm locked out of the sonic batarang upgrade because I missed the "opportunities" to progress. So now I can never get it on my main file, locking me out of the trophy. :(

Oh my Zod these worst nightmare challenges. I had to restart a new game to get them, and because I did not get the 4 takedowns (vent, hanging, corner, explosive) in the mall because I did the wrong hanging thing, I have to wait until the freakin' Blackgate takeover until I can get it again, because so few maps have both explosive walls and areas to hang from in the same place!

Anyone know the details of the update I just had to download on Xbox? That fix the corrupt saves?

So, I played 2 Online Matches. Would have been 3, but the 3rd one loaded forever so I just quit. Anyway, played 2 matches and got to be Batman in both of them. I have to admit, the game does get my blood pumping.

I got broken by Bane. :argh:

But I got the bastard back.

Great review,So the gameplay is not refined and as great AC's but is it still good enough?

How would you all rank the Arkham games so far?,I got AA&AC on day 1 and loved them but decided to wait for Origins until Black Friday or some sale in a few months..But I'm getting the itch to try it already,I may be returning COD:Ghosts and so I'm thinking of getting either AC IV or Arkham Origins

Any news on patches for bugs?

I'd actually say the gameplay is even more refined and more exhilarating than AC's. I replayed the beginning recently, and couldn't believe how slow it felt.

I haven't played Asylum in a while, I would have to replay that first to give proper judgment. But at the moment, I prefer Origins to City. The story is just so much better and cohesive in my opinion. And Bane is freaking awesome in this game.

There have been two patches in the last couple days for PC. No clue about the console versions.

- Patch 1.7
- Patch 1.8

My buddy is letting me borrow his copy tomorrow. It'll keep me entertained until PS4 day.

Asylum
City
Origins

Origins is the best written, but it feels so derivative, especially the story, that it doesn't make up in the other areas, where the other two are far superior. Asylum for me still has the best balance overall.

Agreed on all accounts.

I'm really trying to play online, but man, they are not making it easy for me. Either it just keeps loading, goes back to the lobby, or just goes black after it finished loading. When I can get a game going though, it's actually fun. In my last match, I was one of two remaining Joker goons, and we watched each other's back, and made sure that stinking Robin didn't pop out of the ground to perform a takedown on us. We eventually won the match when the last Bane goon, threw a grenade against a wall, back into his face.

I kinda want another origins game. Showing more of Batman's introductions to his foes in this continuity.

And also things like Harvey's Dent's transformation into Two-Face, Black Mask's mask getting stuck to his face, or seeing Penguin's eye get injured hence the monocle he wears in Arkham City.

Just finished my first play through. Honestly, it was fine, but I didn't love it like I do AC. The story was better, as were some boss fights, but it just felt like a rehash, right down to glue bombs being used for freeze bombs and Deathstroke's line launcher. And yet the best weapon from AC, the EMP gun, is replaced by the gloves, which isn't the same.

Another review I read described it best as listening to a cover band play songs from your favorite band. I honestly have no real desire to finish Enigma's side mission since I know I probably know I won't personally be able to fight Riddler.

The Anarky mission as well. I'm going to give this a C.

The way they made Riddler in this, Do you really Expect much of a fight from him? He's into setting in traps or just leaving clues. Not hand to hand just saying.

So the PS3 Knightfall predator maps are re-skinned versions of AC's Police Brutality and Natural Selection maps?

Not but this a third game in a row where you jump through hoops trying to get his stupid trophies and you don't even get to fight him. Mad Hatter isn't a fight either but you still get a satisfying ending with him.

There's no confrontation with him at all once you find all the data packs. Not even a final message with him mocking Batman. All you get is a Riddler trophy.
