Batman: Arkham Origins - Part 6

Well, you did get your satisfying ending with Riddler in Arkham City.

Not but this a third game in a row where you jump through hoops trying to get his stupid trophies and you don't even get to fight him. Mad Hatter isn't a fight either but you still get a satisfying ending with him.
Ok I get it you just want to smack him around be for he lands in the slammer. Via your intervention.

Yea, more than anything I want a sequel to this with Two-Face being transformed at the beginning and made the main villain. It's more than time he got his chance to shine in this series and no better time than in an origins sequel.

After 440 trophies!

That's if people have the patience to collect them all. Over at the Arkham City board at gamefaqs, there was a topic every week about someone giving up on the Riddler trophies.

There's no confrontation with him at all once you find all the data packs. Not even a final message with him mocking Batman. All you get is a Riddler trophy.

Thanks. Definitely not going to finish it now then.

I keep saying lot can be done it's just a matter of if the WB boss's will let any of the writers for the game series to actually do that. When it comes to the villains story wise I mean.

I left the Riddler trophies until the very end and actually found them quite fun to collect. It was the last thing I needed to do to get to 100% game completion. *shrugs*

The Anarky mission as well. I'm going to give this a C.

I'd give the Anarky mission a chance. Sure, it's nothing special gameplay-wise, but Anarky in this game is at least a villain with a very credible, interesting motivation. He also delivers a long speech at one point which was really well written.

It's a shame Anarky, in this form, isn't used more in mainstream Bat-media. The Beware The Batman version pales in comparison

I agree. This version of Anarky is very interesting. The character is very credible and even though he has a clearly antagonistic relationship with Batman, too many of the things he preaches ring true for me to think of him as a villain :oldrazz:

At the very least, this game gives us an interesting, modern and fresh take on the character that definitely does him justice. Yes, the quest chain is nothing special in terms of gameplay, but as is the case with the whole game the really valuable thing here is the story and the characterization.

@Rincewind - Agree whole-heartedly, at times I found myself thinking 'Right on! Batman's a totalitarian facist' haha. That's what's cool about this Anarky - he functions (as Batman's best villains do) as a mirror, as a kind of warped opposite to Batman.

I'd describe him as an anti-hero if it wasn't for the bomb planting lol. I really enjoyed the idea of him trying to expose corruption in Gotham and trying to recruit Batman because they have similar goals. Very interesting

So, I played 2 Online Matches. Would have been 3, but the 3rd one loaded forever so I just quit. Anyway, played 2 matches and got to be Batman in both of them. I have to admit, the game does get my blood pumping.

I got broken by Bane. :argh:

But I got the bastard back.

Ahhh, so that's how you can combat the super villains. I refuse to go toe-to-toe with Bane, because he goes straight for the back breaker.

Nice trying to do the some on my first run. Keep me posted!

Finally did the four variation takedowns. It took me longer than it should have for two reasons: the hanging ledge takedown, even after reading the description, was just not clear enough. And the game actively did not want me to do it. Weird glitches I'd never encountered happened on my attempts during the bank level. But, I pulled it off. :yay:

I really like him. It's really interesting reading and listening to the things he has to say, and finding myself agreeing with him....up until the point where he gets all, "We should kill those mother****ers!" Then he loses me. Also, it was pretty funny how he outright says we're all being being fed ****, in one of the Anarky Intel scans. Literally.

You basically fight them like the regular thugs. But it takes 3 takedowns, if I read correctly. And I also haven't tried if every takedown works. So far, I managed two on Bane. One was the inverted takedown, and the other one was where you choke the enemy out from above with your legs.

And I kept thinking that Batman was actually naïve compared to Anarky :funny:
I mean, for all his intelligence, resources and strength, his response to crime is to simply punch criminals in the face. At least Anarky tried to dig deeper than fighting goons and thugs, and went after the heart of the problems that have made Gotham a hellhole.

Unfortunately, the whole thing with the bombs does discredit Anarky, though. And even worse, discredits his ideas and drive to expose the uncomfortable truths. In that Batman was justified in taking him down, but I kept wishing that he would recognize Anarky's ideals. The guy was misguided in his methods, of course, but I feel that many of the things he said were correct and if someone outside the law and the system like Batman had listened, maybe they could have done something more useful for the city rather than fight each other.

So, I beat the game and am now getting into doing the Wanted missions...is there a way I can go back and start the Deadshot mission?

There are some neat Easter eggs in that room, though, including early stages of his riddler trophy traps from Arkham City. But yeah it was pretty anti climactic. I was hoping for a suit display or something at least.

Huh, that's neat. Costumes you unlock on one profile, carry over to another.

I started a new file for the express purpose of getting the Deathstroke and Lady Shiva trophies, and the New 52 and Noel suits are already unlocked.

Finally got the Dark Knight Challenges finished, Worst Nightmare took long enough. Besides wanting to 100% the game I've wanted a nice suit to use, and the Dark Knight one is pretty cool.

Ok, not sure how the combat was pre-patch but I've played for a few hours now and this may very well be my favorite Batman game to date... If not then I'd put it only slightly behind Asylum and a good bit above City.

Sheesh...my game froze twice on my second profile. No warning or lag. Just stopped.

Anyone seen this Skin Mod yet?

If WBM really wants to make it up to us with all the glitches, patches and whatnot, they could save face by giving us this... :woot:

A few more pictures of the mod.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" .... ahhhh The Dark Knight game we never but should've gotten. I would also love to see a Begins suit in that chamber.
