Batman: Arkham Origins - Part 7

I looked up and saw that the Worst Nightmare skin was removed from the game. Shame.
Did WBM say why? What was the requirement to unlock this suit prior to its removal?

Yes, getting the Worst Nightmare skin would've been cool for beating that mode.

Apparently its available on the PC version but only as a mod.

It's just strange to me that they have these things like a mod where you can play as Deathstroke in the open world and people actually respond to you as Deathstroke and Slade. I mean...stuff like that should be in the console versions. Why can't they figure that out?

No campaign, just go around the and you can beat people up as Deathstroke.

Agreed. I felt the same way with Robin in Arkham City. It was great playing as him in the challenge maps but I would have loved to have been able to use him in free roam. Overall though it's a minor niggle on what have been great games.

It was the same thing with Robin and Nightwing for the PC version of Arkham City.

Apparently there is code where you can go around the city as Nightwing and Robin and they even have alternate dialogue recorded where the thugs respond to you as those characters.

I was just curious if anyone can explain how that works? How the developers were able to build that in but it can only work as a mod for the PC?

I think the modders just take the dialogue from the challenge maps. I remember that it was different for each of the characters. So it's just a job of taking it and putting on the single player campaign.

That makes sense. But I recall in some of the PC videos that the dialogue in the open world mods sounds different from the challenge map dialogue. Though I could be wrong since your explanation makes the most sense.

But the I am the Knight skin also allows for flaming batarangs. So I mean...they had to have written that coding in somewhere.

From what I see and hear about Arkham Origins, it's mostly Arkham City, with a larger city, no people to interact with on streets, more interesting boss fights, and no Riddler
Not to forget the glitches
Guess I'm not missing much by not playing this game, Riddler is my favorite Batman villain, he added a lot to the greatness of Arkham City for me

There is no Riddler, but you still interact with him before he became the Riddler. And instead of Riddler Trophies, you get Data Packages to collect.

Yeah, it's got the first encounter with Riddler!

That's why I'm not missing much by not playing BAO

Because he's not the Riddler yet and only goes by the name of Enigma?

Dude, the data packages you collect are essentially the same thing as the Riddler trophies from Arkham City. They're just about as challenging to complete, as well. But honestly, if you're only interested in playing Arkham games for the Riddler challenges, you're better off not wasting your time or money anyway...

You're missing out by not playing. It's an Arkham series game. There for you're missing out. Some cool new characters. And a well done story and characterizations. But whatever sucks for you if you won't play it.

You're only missing out on the best story in the Arkham City franchse.. As well as the best character design.

But yeah, Not missing much at all I guess...

Has anyone been following the digital prelude comic? I have been enjoying it, altho I am not too pleased with the pricing (99c for 4 pages? It's now raised to 1.99, and I wonder for how many pages...)

As much as I love Arkham City, I'm one of those who thought Arkham Asylum is overrated
Not really convincing to just hear it's Arkham

Did I tell you guys how I distribute score for games? Out of a 100 I give
70% gameplay
10% story
10% Visuals
10% Misc

From my view, I'm not missing much

Yea I agree with that, even if they did re-ruin Bane. Hope for the next Arkham game the Batsuit from this title is an unlockable, or DLC, either way I want it in the game.

Yea, they need to know where you are coming from, which is that Spider-Man 3 the game, should of been mentioned as a Game of the Year contender.

Don't remember thinking that way of Spider-Man 3
But I still don't think it's the bad game many say it is

And that was worth playing over Arkham Origins...why? Because the Riddler isn't the Riddler yet?

LOL, c'mon man, for like an entire month we went back and forth on your views over that game.

It's all good though, just a bit of good natured ribbing.

That's how I reply when people try to convince me to get a game based on its story and visuals
I love to skip cutscenes after the first time, sometimes I'd prefer to not sit through them even the first time

I'm not sure what other people have been preaching to you or what you've heard about the game that's turned you off of it, but the gameplay in AO is solid, as well as the awesome story. If you loved how it felt to play Arkham City, there's no reason why you shouldn't love this. The gameplay is completely familiar with a few enhancements and additions overall. (the crime scene replication is incredible). It's not a revolutionary overhaul of the Arkham gameplay engine, but then again, if it was completely different, it wouldn't be an Arkham game.

Yes, there were glitches when the game was first released (which have been long patched by now), but I bought the game and it's first day of release and did not experience one freeze, glitch, or problem of any kind as I played it through.

It is a little funny that you're so resistant of the AO gameplay when the Spider-man 3 game was a pale imitation of the Spider-man 2 game in every way, shape, and form.
