"Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - Deluxe Edition amplifies the 2.5-D game with new maps, enemy encounters, difficulty levels, batsuits, and enhanced visuals. A companion game to Batman: Arkham Origins, players can continue the storyline of the console version and discover more details of the Dark Knight’s past. Featuring stealth gameplay, free-flow combat, and Batman’s famed arsenal of gadgets, the genuine Arkham experience is reproduced in a deep, action packed side-scrolling adventure."

I'm a little surprised that it, if the rumored March 25 release date is true, it could be released as soon as it seems. Supposedly it's going to have extra levels, and batsuits.

I've heard great things about Blackgate, so I'm in.

This is pretty annoying. I ended up buying a good priced Vita and Blackgate (along with some other games). While I didn't buy the vita for this game, it was nice to know it had something to offer that wasn't on any other system.

While I understand the move, giving extra content is definitely a kick in the face.

I think there was also something leaked about it going to be on Steam, as well.

So, yeah. If it's on 360 and Steam, then it's going to be on PS3. Now, if it'll be on the Wii U, is probably the real question. The DLC being cancelled, for already purchased season pass owners on the Wii U, has me thinking they'll skip it on there as well.

I feel for the Wii U players.

I wanted to play Origins Blackgate on PSV I heard good things about it so I'm glad this is coming on the consoles.

the sad part is most of them have started a boy cot not and this those that did buy it and there's the other half that were waiting for the all DLC to be out before they buy the game (which had alot of other people on game informer and other place's ticked off those doing that.) since publishers are hung up on initial sales. point since the publisher keep cutting something from that system the people that buy on the system keep getting madder about not having the full game lines keep being drawn and between third party publishers and that have be come made them of what their doing and the people caught in the middle are becoming mad at the both of them on that system.

the problem is middle ground there. it seem and only a few from the buyers side are willing to meet there. the publisher are on one side and there's the stubborn side of gamers reacting to how the practice's of the third party publishers have been on the system by boycotting now. until that ends the system is screwed in that area.

There are not enough Wii U owners for it to matter. The size of the other install bases make it a nonentity in the third party arena. It will get to the point that it is more cost effective to just not make Wii U versions anymore. Just look at the Watch Dogs situation.

don't worry I'm not arguing I'm just saying this is the issue as well

I'm really pissed off about this. This will the last time I buy a 3rd party game for WiiU, unless it's exclusive like Bayonetta 2.

      Same here

Bayonetta 2 is second party. Made by third party, published by nintendo.

the new monolith soft game "X" is also probably going to release like that.

But not buying 3rd party games on Nintendo systems is exactly why things like this happen.
No one is buying on Wii U, so no one wants to develop for Wii U.

You're blaming the wrong person here.

    • by thebassclef626Friday, January, 31, 2014 at 02:12
Lol that attitude right there is one of the major reasons the Wii U is in trouble: nobody is buying thrd party games, hence no developers want to make games for it.

    • by RezidentHazard (Skeptical Inquirer)Friday, January, 31, 2014 at 07:59
And that is the EXACT REASON that third parties abandon Nintendo consoles.

Because of this exact attitude. What incentive do they have to stick around if you aren't going to be gamer enough to play anything other than a Nintendo game?

You want 3rd parties to support Nintendo, but you treat them all this way? Explain how this is a mature response. Explain how this solves ANYTHING.

You want 3rd parties to stick around, then you NEED TO SUPPORT THEM. The more of these comments I see, the more confident that I'm right--the problem isn't with 3rd parties or Nintendo. It's with the fans.

No offense, but did you actually purchase this game AND the season pass? Were you actually one of the people who were burned? My guess is probably not, but if you were - it sucks and I'm sorry.

      @RezidentHazard (Skeptical Inquirer):
This actually reminded me of your blog 'Nintendos Biggest Problem.'
Just looking at vgchartz, its clear no one is buying 3rd party on Wii U.

This is why I love Nintendo. I kinda feel bad for them in all this, as it seems that third party developers are bailing on them instead of Nintendo just not working with them.

Little of both if you ask me. It's a vicious cycle and I think WB dipped their toes in, realized they weren't going to make any profit, and then backed out. Sucks for people who purchased the season pass (depending on the terms of agreement for buying it, perhaps a class action lawsuit is warranted), but it is also a blow to the Wii U as well. This kind of thing warns other developers that the people who own the Wii U won't support 3rd party developers.

      @Jessie Scott:
I agree, having said that, I think Nintendo is handling this well.

    • by RezidentHazard (Skeptical Inquirer)Friday, January, 31, 2014 at 07:56
How many Nintendo fans actually bought the games or DLC? Did you?

This is the problem with the Nintendo fan. It's always "blame the developer, blame the publisher, 3rd parties suck just because, they won't give us games!"

These companies will only support to the console to the extent that the FANS SUPPORT THEM. If a company receives no support FROM THE FANS, then WHAT INCENTIVE DO THEY HAVE TO STICK AROUND?

    • by RedQueenFriday, January, 31, 2014 at 03:05
      @RezidentHazard (Skeptical Inquirer):
Uh, I don't even have a Wii U, becuase I can't afford it right now.

Also, I don't appreciate the disingenuous assertion that I somehow always take Nintendo's side and see them as right. I think that they have made some bad decisions, and some good decisions. I enjoy third party titles, and I enjoy first party titles. The console I choose to play my third party titles isn't dictated by the extremely pretentious idea that I somehow need to show support for a company, it's based on the idea that want to enjoy that game with whatever console I think has the best controller. It could be the Wii U, it could be the PS4. This isn't politics, and this isn't economics, this is games. Games are meant to be fun, not a chore to support a company. But, you'll probably think my opinion is inferior to yours no matter what I say, as it seems you have made up your mind that I am a Nintendo Fangirl

As for DLC, I just wait until there is a full version released or GOTY edition, I like having hard copies of all my stuff whenever I can with few exceptions.

same place. other wise I'm saying I agree

My question is why does that matter? The Wii didn't support strong third party games. Now these games sell peanuts on the Wii U. A small minority complaining on a message board or comment section don't charge profits and loses.

it's about some of them boycotting from the start and why they won't buy and the fact that practice from the wii from the publishers making them do so. it's happening on joystiq as well and few other places that aren't an ign swear fest (that place no one really listens to eachother on that one.)

but after this post I'm pretty much done. it's them that have to answer you. I said what I said already both sides have to find middle ground and to stop screwing them selves on that system.

I'm sure rest rather hear about the coming DLC.

How big do you think this "boycott" really is? Honestly now.

This is a misconception. The big publishers don't need Nintendo, especially as Nintendo have positioned themselves as the "other console". The one you get with a PS4 or X-box One, not instead of. The vast majority of consumers will just buy the games in their better iterations else where. That includes PC.

Pesiguy2, I'm talking about additional DLC content, not really patches.

So they were never able to fix the freezing issue?

Guess I can never play this game again. That was $60 well spent .

I think the official answer is, "maybe".

Their qualifier for it is, "If" they work on a patch, that's what they'll work on. Which is one hell of a ****ing qualifier.

I think the game only freezed on me once. Some other minor glitches that are annoying but nothing game breaking on the PS3.

For those interested in comic things, the Batman #28 (released this week) introduced the zip-liner gadget and shock gun for the Batman family.

Funny thing was I never had a freezing glitch until shortly after I read about it online. Then it happen a few times, which only added to my displeasure of the game.

Mine is fine now. I replayed the whole thing last week and it didn't freeze on me at all.

.....crap. I bought the DS version (though I had a DS beforehand), but damnit. How annoying.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? I have finished the game again and Completely gotten EVERYTHING! All my slots say complete...EXCEPT Casefiles...which is wrong because I have gathered up all the escaped blackgate prisoners...and that mission doesn't show up until all casefiles are complete...RIGHT?
So I looked over my files to see what was missing, and found that for some reason the casefile about the the murdered arms dealer that was shot while setting a fire...and then the suspect runs up the walls to the ladder...and then it turns out to be Penguins henchmen...that one for some reason isn't there anymore. BUT I KNOW I FINISHED IT.

anyone else have this problem?

I really don't want to have to replay the whole game again, and find all those datapacks AGAIN. I'm trying to get 100%. and to do that I have to complete everything on story mode and New Game Plus mode...

Anyone?
