Batman: Arkham Origins

I like this game plus Troy Baker's Joker is awesome.

Well, might as well tell him. It's DLC for the game Arkham Origins. So, first you have to own Arkham Origins, and then you have to go to the store or marketplace on whatever platform you bought the game on (Xbox, Playstation, whatever), find Arkham Origins, and Cold, Cold Heart should be listed as an available add on for the game. If I'm not mistaken, Cold, Cold Heart costs $10.

But, you know, don't buy it unless you already own Arkham Origins. That would be bad.

Edit: I haven't played in a while, but I'm pretty sure they'll let you buy the DLC through Arkham Origins itself. There should be a link on the main menu of the game somewhere.

And another thread that will be closed very soon.

Edit - there we go, moved to the proper thread.

So, I never managed to get the sonic shock batarang, and by extension, the all upgrades trophy. Because I missed all the prime areas in the story to accomplish more of the Worst Knightmare track. These ****ing things suck.

I'm considering redoing the entire campaign and new game plus to get this one trophy. Since you can't get it in challenge maps or free roaming. Do you guys think it's worth doing again for one trophy?

I really wish these games had an option to replay new game plus. I never understood why such an option was never included. I just want to replay the story without having to reacquire all major upgrades or play on a higher difficulty.:csad:

It depends on where you are on the track. I lucked out because I had the cheap mentality to look up tips for track progress online before I completed my original run-through. I capped off whatever I missed early in New Game+. I'd totally do it, but I can be a bit petty and obsessive... and yes, a trophy hunter. :o

I like going through the story multiple times (particularly so I can hand Slade his ass ), so it wasn't all that big of a difference for me. Yeah though, a repeat for scenes/chapters would be appreciated next go around.

I'm pretty low on the track. Only at rank 6. :(

Yeah, that one's a pain and can only be done in maybe 2 or 3 places in the game. I'd just start another game and use a guide to peg what the best spots are to progress on the track.

Give it another run. You show that damn achievement who's boss!

In the absence of making a choice, in decided to DL Cold Cold Heart. It's a shame the XE suit couldn't be used in the regular story mode. Even if it was purely cosmetic, I would still want it.

Funny, I just played through that again over the last couple of days. Freeze's entries are so standout in the series. Heated batarangs and thermal gloves would have been a nice switch in free roam in the main game. I still would have liked to break up some more ice (pointedly by the bridge) in the DLC.

Also, I've decided I like the Injustice skin best out of all the alts. I like it here much better than in the actual Injustice game.

Speaking of skins, why in the hell couldn't we pick our vast array of skins at the beginning of the CCH story? That's pretty lame. I know you switch and need the XE suit fter a certain point, but so what? We can use the default skin for a good deal of the DLC before the switch. It's things like these that just really make me :huh:

This was my favorite suit in the game, the Dark Knight one:

...and then came the damning revelation that you couldn't see it in its full splendor because the damn thing was always battle-damaged.

Boo.

As great as these games are, they never handled skins all that well.

Arkham Asylum had only one skin, and it was for maps only.
Arkham City had a fine selection, but you had to beat normal mode first.
Arkh Origins did the same thing.

I hope Arkham Knight does away with such things. I'd say that Arkham City handled skins the best, many because of the cheat code you could use. It's a shame WB Montreal didn't reactivate it or make it a new one.

It's a good thing, in my opinion, that you could only use the other skins after you beat the game first. This way, you'll experience the game exactly the way the developers wanted. Battle damaged, bruises and all. Then you do as you please.

is there any news of a GOTY version or something like it coming out? You know a version that has all the DLC included. For the last few years I've always been waiting on games since the ones I want usually do that

That's one thing that's kinda annoyed me about all the Arkham games so far. The fact that when you finish the game you have all these alternate skins to choose from but you can't choose the original, undamaged suit.

Hopefully in Arkham Knight we'll have that option, because the new suit looks great.

so I just beat the 100 to 1 challenge map as Batman. Got a 245 combo and a 263,000 final score. Felt pretty damn good. :woot:

So I was (foolishly) playing I Am The Knight mode, and while I failed, I got to wondering. The in-game engine cutscenes, would anyone else have preferred that these be the full scene engine? Rather than the pre-rendered stuff? Extra skins being viewable aside, I actually think they're detailed enough, the models, textures, etc all look just fine. Anyone else agree?

I never understood why the cutscene weren't done with the in-game engine in the first place.

One last thing in regards to in-game cutscenes. This occurred to me a few days ago.

The one scene in Arkham Origins that proved to me the in-game engine was just fine for cutscenes was the Jezebel Plaza scene. There is a moment where Batman stands in front of the moon and creates a nice dark silhouette, with white glowing eyes. All done with the in-game engine. It looked really beautiful. A lot of the skins look fantastic in that scene.
