800 mil would be good
I'm sure they want the magic billion at least. This is their marquee property and their expectations for the solos and other films might be less.
800 mil would be good
What do you guys think WB realistically expects from BvS?
There's no question they are going for a billion. I think the whole reason for Batman v Superman existing as opposed to Man of Steel part 2 is how far MoS was from reaching that figure.
No matter what WB says they are hoping for a billion. 800 million would arguably be profitable but for the sake of WB and their shareholders this film is supposed to really launch their entire connected DC film universe.
WB doesn't have shareholders. MOS was never going to reach a billion.
This film has a great release date. 400 million domestic and 1 billion WW is the goal.

So this article by Variety is lying?
"During a shareholders meeting on Tuesday, chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara unveiled the studios slate of tentpole features through 2020,..."

That was during the Time Warner shareholders meeting. You can't buy shares of Warner Brothers.
Wouldn't being a shareholder of Time Warner make them shareholders of all the subsidiaries by default?
Being a shareholder of Time Warner makes you a shareholder of Time Warner.
Yes, which is the parent company of WB studios. So the people who run the studio report to Time Warner who in turn reports to the shareholders. Right?

Yes.
Time Warner is a publicly traded company and its Warner Bros. division is a huge chunk of that business.
It's beyond naive to assume shareholders wouldn't care about the profitability of WB?
Like I said BvS is supposed to launch a tent-pole of like 10 films costing hundreds of million of dollars to produce. Its success or lack thereof would be a concern.
I think a lot of people were put off my MoS (myself included), so it could be a case of "once bitten...twice shy" for some.
Unless the reviews and word-of-mouth are absolutely sensational, I don't see it making more than $375 million DOM. $1.3 billion total.
I have no doubt BVS will hit a billion. Its the critical reception that's hard to guess
I feel anyone who believe this film will make anything less than a billion are deluding themselves. F7 cemented that the spring season is quite invaluable, and having practically no competition months apart in both spectrums, WB are expecting nothing less than what TDK made. I can honestly see this thing having the 3rd, maybe even 2nd highest opening of all time. I can see it surpassing Avengers if the WOM is anything like Mad Max Fury Road is getting right now, though that is not very likely.
140 mill increase from MOS? WB would be livid800 mil would be good
