Anyone want to predict how much Justice League will make? It comes out in November 2017.

Unless WW and Suicide Squad are mega hits, then lower than many expect....Probably not even 750 million WW... WB blew it with the fans...

Trask is probably sitting at home thanking his lucky stars for Snyder's existence...

For the one person that cares (me), here's the repost of my predictions for the rest of the weekend:

Saturday - $19.4 million
Sunday - $11.5 million

2ND WEEKEND TOTAL - $46.2 million

That's a 66.6% drop sans Thursday pre-shows. And no, I didn't plan it like that.

Snyder has likely signed a pretty significant deal to shot JL Part 1 and 2.

It starts shooting in 9 DAYS!

Snyder has formed the foundation on this movie whether we like it or not.

It would cost WB MORE money to stall production, pay Snyder a boatload of money for work he wouldn't be doing and find a suitable director willing to take on this mammoth production during such an upset.

It's simply not worth it.

You keep Snyder (for now), make sure Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman are well marketed/executed and demand a specific tone for JL. Plus, if need be, have final say on the finished cut.

I keep seeing that "it starts shooting in 9 days" reasoning over and over. Because it is lined up, it can't be delayed

You're looking at it in too much of a micro sense. The conversation is macro. Its not just "Can JL be salvaged with Snyder at the helm?" The question is "Can the DCEU survive a reception of JL similar to BvS?"

Not true. See: SM4, superman lives, JL Mortal, Tron 3

Everytime i see these numbers.... wasted potential... :(

Not surprised about it dipping in it's second weekend but I am surprised about how low it looks like it will go...

Lol I thought I saw a mod named Matt, that was weird.

:hehe: You're right. I resigned yesterday. I am not on the board very often these days. I was only around to help out with BvS's launch, but considering that I am, at best, a recurring figure on these boards (sometimes going months without even checking in), I figured I'd use my brief stay during the BvS release to finally turn in my badge and gun and retire (so to speak).

Not really.

At least Snyder is still a well-liked guy professionally. He didn't alienate his cast and crew during production and get fired off his own movie in post. He just made a bad movie, albeit by following studio notes, is all.

He is not shooting Part 2. They are not filming them back to back. Also, it will cost them more money in the long run to keep him.

Superman Lives was cancelled two weeks before shooting. That's just one example.

Crazier **** has happened in Hollywood. If money is at stake they will do serious ****.

Anything can be delayed... but you do realise how problematic that is?

Actor's schedules would need to be re-worked, affecting their other projects. Affleck is a very busy man and even Adams is gearing up for a TV series with HBO.

The time and effort that went into renting studio space (especially in London) will have been for nothing.

WB are in too deep with this thing. Justice League should have started shooting in the summer. At the very least that would have bought them some time.

Cheaper to delay or cancel. By leaps and bounds.

The notion that some are spewing, that it is cheaper to keep the course than delay it until Warners can find a capable director, blows my mind. This drop is horrendous and unprecedented for a movie of this scale. Between the critical reception and the drop, it is pretty clear how BvS is being received. JL is meant to be the foundation for franchises that will keep Warners afloat for the next 10-15 years. It is supposed to be the franchise that puts them on equal footing with Disney/Marvel. To do nothing because of the administrative hassles of delay, in light of evidence that audiences are not responding to Snyder's vision (to the contrary, are outright rejecting it), is an absurd mentality. It is akin to building a skyscraper and realizing you laid a bad foundation and rather than delaying construction, just stubbornly pushing forward. Delay is cheaper than an entire building collapsing.

The only people who care about these actors are these actors themselves and the people they employ

Yep. It's gonna be an interesting shareholders meeting this summer that's for sure. Vote em all out, I say.

So, third week box office. Drop predictions?

I want to see if Hardcore Henry can somehow beat it. Imagine if that happened. It would probably need another 70% drop for that to happen. I can see it.

Friday got $15.35 million. My time series estimate based on that is $46.2 million for the weekend, but the professional estimates are a bit higher.
Whoa. Looks like, if the multiplier is anything around "normal", it will hit the pesimistic $55M (66.87% drop)

If that vertigo-inducing monstrosity of a movie beats this at the box office, yikes.
