Age of Ultron fell from 22 million to 5 million

Iron Man 3 fell from 20 million to 4 million

So can we at lest keep some perspective for this instead of the doom and gloom responses?

Both of them also made more than BVS despite not featuring Batman, Superman, or Wonder Woman in it.

Also, what DarthSkywalker said.

Oh man this is pretty dire. If the movie drops another 60-70% this weekend then it'll be in a free fall mode, or maybe it is already.

If I was a IT guy I'd find out if Kobra's PC comes from somewhere inside WB. :woot:

You don't know what you're talking about. I've been very critical of the movie. I simply don't support squared views about why the movie didn't make as much as everybody believed it would make. I honestly believe there are a lot more factors that came into play, and i also believe that, while divisive, the majority still enjoyed it. Which isn't to say that's a victory for WB, but let's not pretend the movie is more hated than what actually is.

Iron Man 3 is a Lethal Weapon flick. It is not "family friendly". You do realize TDKR sold as many if not more tickets then IM3 right? 3D. Do you even know what you are talking about?

The only thing that has more mass appeal then Batman is Star Wars. But crappy movies chip away at these things, which is why you have BvS opening huge even with the letdown of MoS. Why TFA being beloved is suddenly the third highest grossing film of all time even with the prequels.

BvS opened huge. It feel off a cliff once people saw it. That is a movie problem. And films are judged solely on quality as seen through the eyes of those that watch it and recommend it. The critics and GA have rejected this movie. Harshly. They don't like it, they don't tihnk it is good.

It fell off a cliff Saturday.

[awaits for jokes to post his image comparing opening weekends]

So, those films had a similar, or smaller drop, but from higher. That's not positive for BvS.

No, you don't know why it dropped. You speculate about it. That's all you can do. You speculate about it. That's why you haven't been able to provide me with a single piece of information that sustained the idea that the majority didn't like the movie. You purely speculate.

Keep an eye out for the new argument from Snyder/BvS defenders. They'll say the poor box office can't be called disappointing or an under performance because It's box office numbers were perfectly appropriate for a movie that critics bashed as much as BvS was. It's a way of arguing against people pointing out the weak numbers and blaming the movies critics for any negativity that may have hurt the film.

How on earth does a movie lose this much with ZERO competition. :funny:

Snyder would then proceed to compare BVS to Iron Man 2 and called it a victory. :D

Grace still in denial and comparing DC fans who hated this to abusers.

I normally think her stuff is pretty harmless and she can even be pretty funny sometimes, but I have no idea where's she's going with this.

I mean does she think that just because it's DC's who's who of comics that this shouldn't have dropped like it did?

Man of Steel made $4,537,163 on it's second monday.

Ouch.

What competition did AoU have? The only movie opening that weekend made 13 million. It made $957,223 on that Monday.
You are right. But AoU also made 5.3m. Lesser in terms of percent and actual money. There is also the fact that AoU was not beloved, and yet still crushed at the box office.

IDK try asking Avengers: Age of Ultron.

AoU made $1.4 bil on the same budget as BVS. I think it's done quite well don't you think?

I used to subscribe to Beyond the Trailer and Movie Magic, but even before BVS Grace's been irritating the hell out of me with her hyperbolic reactions to everything. I unsubscribed both channels and glad I did. Maybe she's Snyder's sister in law or something.

C'mon now, MBFGW2 is out there counterpunching!

(Seriously tho, that movie is probably going to earn more profit at the box office than BvS. That's just ridiculous.)

AoU made $459m domestically. WB execs would be crying tears of joy for that kind of money. Heck, they would be doing so if the entire WW could make the $946m OS gross for AoU. :funny:

Especially a movie with Batman and Superman headlining it. A billion should have been in the bag. If this is not a wake up call to WB about Snyder, then nothing will be.

Seriously, other blockbusters would kill to have 3-4 weeks to themselves. WB should be embarrassed.

Exactly, look how crammed the Wonder Woman film is, having weeks of no major competition is a godsend for every blockbuster films and this film totally botched it!

Right. Completely different circumstances, wouldn't you say? Why did AoU made that much money? Was it because it was an amazing movie and everybody loved it? I think if that's the case, why do we even needs reviews, critics and ratings? We can just look at how much a movie makes to decide whether or not it is good.

Why do people here believe that the masses care so much about Batman fighting Superman? Honestly, i have never seen any evidence of this outside geek forums and sites. Sure, for fans, this is a dream come true. But do you honestly think that for the casual moviegoer this is that big of a deal? I highly doubt it is. A Batman movie with Leto's Joker in it would probably appeal way more to the masses.

I thought it was a rather lame idea when I first heard it. I just went to see it because it was a SH movie.
