The fandom for this movie will exist in a vacuum and in their minds. This will not endure. They can enjoy it all they want sure, but to think this will be the next Avengers or is even as good as anything WB wanted is asinine.

And one more question from me: For those who read Andrew Kevin Walker's script for Wolfgang Petersen's Batman vs Superman... Do you think that would make a better movie? I think the main difference was that back in 2002 they tried to make a character-driven movie. Yes, it was another Lex's masterplan but with only him and The Joker involved it was definitely minimalistic, no CGI over-the-top action. I know fans didn't like that Supes was divorced in that version but I think overall both Bats and Superman were much, much closer to their comic book versions. Also they were friends from the beginning and just Batman went berserk so Superman tried to stop him.

To be fair, this site IS a vacuum.

I seriously doubt the general audience is plagued with anxiety over whether Doomsday has the appropriate number of spikes on his back...

I hate to bring the issue of the merit of paid critics, having defended them, but...

when they compare the film to Fantastic Four and Batman Robin, saying it is worse, it is pure hyperbole.

Remember when people were hating Miller's casting for Justice League Mortal... Would you take that movie now?

Yes.

If it was up to me, I'd just try and give the whole thing to George Miller. They could just adapt the Justice League Mortal story so everything fits in this universe (do a timeskip or whatever, **** the DoJ setup).

The party in my vacuum-mind is pretty rad though. You should join in sometime.

Exciting at parts, joyless for the majority.

I can understand those who said younger kids probably wouldn't enjoy it, or older kids/adults.

The kids in my family loved it. My 13-year-old couldn't stop talking about it. She probably liked it even more than I did.

Why is it, it's mostly the relatively new user, low post count guys who are so glowing about this film?
I've been a long time lurker and I just finally decided to get into the conversation. I seem to be in the minority here and enjoyed the movie. This is just really damn fun being able to talk about all these movies and read posts and getting everyone's take on it. I'm glad I finally joined!

I was nearly certain it was him, and it was good to have it confirmed.

Oddly, it's not earth shattering. Back when we had a comic book store, I binged on the Superman spinoff titles -- His Girlfriend, Lois Lane and His Pal, Jimmy Olsen--and appreciated the quirks with the characters and 1950's conventions. But, yeah, I am not feeling any disappointment, anger, or anything. It's more of, "okay."

Did not enjoy it... great moments sprinkle throughout but it does not add up to an even decent whole....

No battle even came close to being as good as any seen in MOS... the last confrontation was a light show and not much else.. Even Batmans best moment happens right as he is first shown...

So what about the long time users here making the same comparisons? Paid off too?

Honestly this feels like DC's equivalent to Star-Lord's "blacklight" joke but vulgar and unfunny. Like, "oh you think that's edgy, well..."

Yeah……someone actually drinking urine is pretty nasty. All I could think of was The Help.

Funny that this is the second urine-drinking movie that Kevin Costner has been in. ;)

Just back from the theater, and i gotta be honest here...

I HAVE NEVER EVER walked out of a theater happier!!! Many man tears dropped down my face in this one, and this has never happened in a movie before. I will give further thoughts later as i have some house work to attend to, but i will say, after the movie i spoke with the man sitting next to me, a hairy faced Harley riding biker looking guy and asked him what he thought. He said he loved it and gave it a solid 8 of 10. My rating, a big thumbs up, solid 9 for me. My wife loved it, i asked her her rating before even telling her how i felt, the wife gave it a 9 aswel.

With MOS i remember walking out dissapointed, this film totally redeemed that feeling 3 years ago! I am just in awe honestly, i loved every minute of it. Yes there were parts that could have been expanded on, and i really can't wait for the extra 30min on the BluRay cut. I honest to god do NOT understand all the hate for this film, it just boggles my mind really. For me this movie was much better then MOS, i am so happy right now. I expected garbage going in and walked out feeling like i found a gem.

And we dressed in STYLE GOING IN baby, lots of fun!!!
