You Guys Are The Very Definition Of Haters.
I Don't See What The Problem Is. Between Bucky & Jason Todd Coming Back From The Dead & Turning Bad, Spidey Becoming Iron Man's Sidekick And 90% Of The World's Mutants Losing Their Powers, Bp Is Just About The Most Enjoyable Comic On The Shelves These Days.
I hear ya.I hear alot of praise for Priest's run,but the last thing I would want as a comic fan is Hudlin coming in and trying to follow Priest.Just as we wouldn't want Loeb following Millar's style on Ultimates 3.Hudlin's style is different, but it makes for great comics. His knack for romance, comedy, and dialogue have really shown in the last 2 issues. The first arc alone was one of the best and meaningful 6 parters I've read. The whole history of Wakanda and the title of "Black Panther" being brought to the stage was much needed. Before reading it,I could not care less about whatever Wakanda was.
The one thing I love most about Hudlin,is the dude's love for obscure characters. The guy brought back Klaw,Batroc, different versions of Radioactive Man and Black Knight,Red Ghost,Bill Foster aka Goliath,Brother Voodoo,Blade and made Monica Rambeau a saviour all in the book's first year. The guy is a fan,he loves comics.
I'm sick and tired of all these x-junkies saying the book is crap when most of them haven't even read it or even care for Black Panther as a character. All they know is "Storm should be with Forge!" and "OMFG!!!BP wouldn't say that line he said in #7" without having read the book itself.
Hudlin's focus on Wakanda's culture(african culture for that matter)in this book have garnered complaints by some idiotic junkies calling it "ghettoizing",if that's not racist I don't know what is.Not once has T'Challa spoken out of character with the exception of #7,which was even in quotations and completely taken out of context.
Most of all,Hudlin has made T'Challa very down to earth and human.Gone is the calculating and cold Avenger. He smiles now for God's sakes!
My 2 cents.
