Breaking Bad - All Bad Things Must Come To An End - The Finale Thread

Man, don't you love how Walt was all stealth ninja throughout the entire episode? He walked right into Gretchen's house like it was nothing. He strolls right up to Todd and Lydia at the diner, he sneaks into Skylar's house without the cops noticing and somehow plants the ricin in her tea (how DID he do that anyway?). Walt was pure gangsta.

Yup, Heisenberg was a badass in this episode. :word:

Classic Heisenberg.

The first scene was glorious.

Elliott and Gretchen get to live the rest of their lives in fear. And the way he was ****ing with them all the while having red sights pointed at their chests. What a boss.

That was honestly the only criticism I had of this episode. It was a little too easy for Walt to do some of those things, especially since Walt was never all that good at them before. Mike even used to point that out specifically to him when Walt tried to tail him once.

I thought it was far too easy for Walt to get near Skylar, and get away without being spotted. But still, that's a small complaint.

I thought the ricin thing was self-explanatory. He knew when and where Lydia meets because of his past dealings with her, as he explained. He also knew about her Stevia habit because of this. She always sat in the same window seat. So all he has to do is get there before Lydia arrives, take out all the Stevia packages, and leave his ricin-filled one. And only his ricin-filled one, so that she can only choose it. And then just let everything run its course.

And now I finished Talking Bad....I can't remember the last time I felt so fulfilled and yet so empty inside. I still cannot believe I missed out on this show for so long.

.
She's a creature of habit. Sits at the exact same table, orders the exact same drink, uses the exact same sugar substitute/whatever the hell that is. He planted it there before she showed up.

The Lydia thing I got. It was getting into the house that I thought was a tad much. I mean, Walt isn't exactly a ninja or anything. Unless there was an unused training montage that was supposed to be included while he was living in that shack.

What I'll say about this ending is that they did the exact thing I was kind of dreading they'd do for a long time...which is to try and give Walt a last minute redemption. And yet, I didn't hate it. In fact, it all pretty much felt right.

I dunno, it was actually a very feel good ending which I found kind of surprising, but there definitely was a part of me hoping the show would end on a darker, more brutal note. I didn't want to root for Walt again, but they made me! I'm torn because I totally see how this was a fitting end to the show.

All in all, great series, great finale. Probably not my first choice for an ending, but it was undeniably satisfying. Breaking Bad will go down as one of the greats, no two ways about it.

Walt entered the home while it was empty. They showed how the security alarm only really protected the inner doors. Gretchen had to deactivate it after entering that second set of doors. Walt waited outside of them, and only entered past once Gretchen turned off the alarm.

Edit: I guess this raises the question "How could Walt know the security system works that way?", so I can see why it's a bit flimsy there.

Nope. Rest of their lives. Because they'll be afraid of what might happen if Walt, Jr gets the money, but they later rat Walt out and get it taken away.

If they don't comply, Badger and Skinny Pete will return to their home armed with crossbows and laser pointers.

Lydia obviously wouldn't recognise Walt either, the way he was looking at the time.

I guess I must have misinterpreted the scene.

I thought Walt basically told them that they were going to die anyway, just sometime down the road when they least suspect it. All giving Walt Jr. the money was going to do was buy them more time.

I was talking about Skylar's house. He got in, and got back out without being caught while the house was under observation.

I don't think so. I mean, who would be left to fulfill this for Walt?

Skinny Pete and Badger don't strike me as the murdering types. It was pure intimidation, that will frighten them enough to give Jr. the money.

That's the great part about the show, it never gives us what we expect. I think, especially after these last several episodes, we were all expecting a shocking dark ending that would leave us curled up in the dark corners of our rooms for weeks--but instead Gilligan decided to give us a "happy" ending. Sure, it could have ended with Jesse dying, or Skylar committing suicide, or Marie killing Walt--but why? I think Gilligna knew that the characters have suffered enough up to this point and it was time to put a period at the end of this story and give everyone what they deserve and throw in some crowd pleasing moments with it (Jesse choking out Todd--F*** YEAH!!).

It wasn't what I expected and I am glad for it. Great ending.

Now that Breaking Bad is over....now what?

Yeah, I thought he just said if you don't do what I'm telling you to do in 10 months you'll die.

Granted, they'll probably still be frightened, just because they know "hitmen" are out there watching, but Walt only indicated they would die if they didn't follow his orders.
