:lmao:

The Joker's earned the right to kill him.

If there is one thing I love about the ending it is that. Not only did he die protecting Jesse, where he died protected Jesse. He went to the meth lab. In the police's eyes, Walt was cooking for the Nazis. Jesse is in the clear. Of course, that raises several questions:

1) Was it Walt's first truly selfless act for Jesse or was it the final selfless act of many?

2) Was it a selfless act at all? Was it about protecting Jesse or preserving the legacy of Heisenberg? Walt was bitter in the car when Badger told him that Jesse was cooking better blue Meth than Walt. Walt's death could be viewed as a way to take credit for the blue meth, solely. No Jesse usurping his throne. Just Walter, Heisenberg, claiming what is his. It isn't like Grey Mater. He isn't sharing with anyone this time nor will anyone steal it from him. It is his legacy alone.

The more I peel back the layers of the finale, the more that I like it.
I think it was a selfless act to protect Jesse. After he saw what they did to him, you could see he had a bit of a mix of emotions. But yes, he died there to protect his legacy.

Now that I can get my thoughts together somewhat...

I couldn't have asked for a better finale. In my eyes, Walt redeemed himself by saving Jesse. I loved that Jesse lived and that he didn't kill Walt. I also loved that Walt finally admitted to Skyler that he enjoyed being in the business and was doing it for himself.

Jack, Todd and Lydia's deaths (even though hers is just implied) were immensely satisfying. I felt like my team won the Super Bowl when Jesse choked out Todd. And that blood splatter headshot....

The ending got to me though. I knew Walt was going to die, but it was still emotional to see the end of a great character. I was a little surprised we didn't see a small montage of what happened to Jesse, Skyler, Flynn and Holly after Walt's death, but it can be assumed that Elliott and Gretchen gave Flynn the money on his 18th birthday and the family turns out okay, and Jesse probably moves someplace far away and gets a clean slate. It was nonetheless a perfect ending.

Now I need that complete series Blu-ray set.

"This one time, I saw a guy on set get killed by a crane. It was hilarious."

~

Bryan Cranston.

Walt's death was a crane shot. You brilliant bastard, Cranston.

This. All of this. Walter White's journey has ended and I could not be happier. A fitting end to easily one of the GREATEST characters in all of fiction.

Jesus, they really are ramming Low Winter Sun down our throats. Give it a rest!

I hear it's pretty decent; lacking in the humor department, but decent. Too bad AMC is doing their best to kill it. :o

Couldn't Lydia go to the hospital and say she was poisoned by ricin? Or was it too late by then?

Eh, I'm fine with the show. They aren't doing anything that wouldn't do with another show. It's not great. Has a couple of really good performances going.

And how beautifully poetic was it when Jesse choked out his "master" Todd with his chains of oppression? Amazing storytelling.

Perfect. If I have any complaint at all, it's the lack of the pork pie hat and shades.

But no. Perfect.

Thank you Vince Gilligan and co. for creating what I believe is the best TV show ever made. As someone who is aspiring to be a filmmaker, this show has taught me a lot. Thank you once again.

The last shot of this series was just perfect as well. 35MM Film FTW!! :D

Well, that's that. I could never have imagined how the finale would turn out, but I was not disappointed. Thanks Gilligan and co. That was some dang good television.
