Kane, you taking gif requests?

I might but if you're looking for gifs, they can be found on these two blogs. It's where I go to to find them.

Why? I figured some would have that reaction but I don't understand it.
I can't read your blackout text on my tablet, can you just post it? And while you're at it, explain to me why Jesse is so likeable to a lot of people here.

It's not that Jessie was so likable, he was an f-up and caused a lot of heartache. But he was clueless and endlessly manipulated by Walt. So, to me, he became kind of a sympathetic loser. I am glad he was spared in the end.

He was just a messed up kid who was drawn in and from the very beginning imprisoned by Walt to this messed up enterprise.

Gif, 100x100 of quick transformation from Season 1 Walt and Season 1 Jesse to their finale counterparts.

And then if it's possible, after that...last shot of Walt and Jesse together during one of their finer moments.

I gotta say, I'm a bit disappointed.

I don't mind that the only real closure came from Walt's story. It has always been Walt's story. It is fitting that the closure belongs to Walt. My disappointment comes from how cliche Walt's ending is. Creating a greater evil in the form of Nazis, just to give him some redemption...meh. I almost feel like last week's premise was a more fitting end for Walter White. There was nothing special about him. He was just a monster and died alone in a cabin...I feel like that would've been a much more fitting ending for Walter.

Agreed on every point. Walt dying alone with nothing but his money would have been a much finer ending than that. I liked it sure enough, but ultimately it was far too much like early Breaking Bad and less of a character examination and examination everything he has wrought than previous episodes.

I was cringing when everything went off without a hitch.

Except Walter didn't find redemption or salvation. Sure, he got justice and vengeance, was able to provide an inheritance for his son, will be forever remembered, and died according to his own terms, but look at what his actions have wrought over the course of the series. He may be remembered and feared for a long time to come, but everyone who he has ever cared about is either dead or hates his guts. What's more, he's not in the least bit sorry about cooking crystal meth; rather, he's came to terms with the fact that he was the bad guy all along and that everything he did was done for himself more than anything else. You could say that, in the end, he punished himself for what he had done.

That's a good point, but I think it's the universe tends to give Walt a hand when needed, like even earlier in the episode when the car he stole had the keys in them already, or any of the times he's managed to escape death. I think it just shows how lucky Walt freakin' is.

Except this was the finale and, while it's true that Walt was very lucky in some earlier instances on the series (all plausible tho), ending the show on such a lucky coincidence felt a bit of a copout to what could have been a betterly crafted string of events that doesn't involve such a big gamble on Walt's part. Also, in a different note, it didn't help that, when he talked with Lydia on the phone, it felt more like the writers wrapping up a dangling plot string with a line of dialogue than the actual craft we're used to see in BB.

Personally, I'd find it a really ironic/interesting ending if Walt actually lived through all of that shootout unscathed only to have the cancer kill him in those last moments :p

I love that Jack and Hank pretty much died the same way, in mid-sentence. However, Jack died bargaining for his life while Hank died accepting his fate with dignity. I love all the parallels that exist in this show.

Would it be too much if Walt had said "I made up my mind 10 mins ago" before he killed Jack?

This. It really did bring things full circle, but at the same times offered some great parallels.

Too on the nose but that's what everyone was thinking anyways.

Probably, but God, I would've loved it.

Thanks for this. I get where you're coming from.

Probably, but man it would've been great! I think before Jesse cracked Todd's neck, it would've been fitting if he said to him "Just so you know, this is nothing personal".

It would be too on the nose but it would've of worked cause Walt would be saying it as a final f**k you. It would've called back to Hank.

Walter dying in the Meth-Lab. Brilliant. I mean that guy was created in a lab. The lab was his home. He was free in in the lab. It was something he created. His empire. People believing he cooked till the bitter end, is something that Walter wanted. He died in peace.

Brilliant, Vince. Just brilliant.

Agreed. Leaving his bloody stamp on his legacy. Just amazing storytelling.

Oh and welcome to the Hype! :woot:

Less brilliant, and more logical...but people in charge of main stream television act like chickens without their heads. So when someone with sense comes along, it seems brilliant haha.

The final episode was meh its really forgettable to me. I would of liked one more little montage about the aftermath of what happened. I liked Walt but I actually wanted to know what happened to Jesse, Flynn, and Marie. I think it would of been satisfying having Marie spit on his grave or Jesse reuniting with his family, or Flynn getting that check.

I think this series is ultimately about two people. Walter White was ready to die in that cabin, but when he saw that interview, the Heisenberg in him was angered and motivated him to take action. Maybe WW would have been fine with the cancer taking him, but his pride, aka Heisenberg would not accept anything less than a bullet. The episode, as nearly every episode, was a balance between Walter's needs and Heisenberg's greed.

Oh Jesus, I didn't give this episode 10/10 so here comes the sardonic freak to jump me. Roll your eyes all you want, jerk. You don't even know what pleasant means. I'm not even going to bother debating the finale here, because I know how this thread is if you dont love every minute of each episode.

Or you didn't offer up any kind of argument about what you didn't like. You didn't actually offer up any kind of real criticism.
