also a great move by walter to get a bit of sympathy from hank, i know the purpose was to bug his office, but it's not bad to get hank on his side.

Mike is still my favorite character on the show. It's really cool that he has a strong sense of honor, regardless of who he sides with.

Just saw the episode, having Dish is a damn pain since this is the only show I follow religiously.

That effing ending....sweet merciful jebus, just that effing ending, my god....:wow::csad::woot::shock.
I really, really thought that one dude might be a deep, deep undercover kinda cop, or the screw up that gives everyone up in the end while they all worry about Lydia. Damn.

There never has been a show like this before. You are quite right about that. No show has ever taken their protagonist and over the course of the series turned him into the main antagonist like this show has and after rewatching every episode in preparation for the new season and getting to remember the whole ride within the last few weeks up until now just WOW! This is as special as Lost and Battlestar Galactica are to me now.

Same sentiments here... this great show has filled the void after Lost for me.

I just want a Mike show now....after he kills Marie, Hank, Skyler, Ted, Walt, Walt Jr's PT loser, Jesse, Badger, that other meth loser, and Saul's secretary.

Mike is my favorite in this show now, but I love Jesse too. If they survive they should go on in their spin off show.

That's what I love about the guy, the nobility in his honor code, he will not betray.

Todd. Awesome.

They said no witnesses. It's the same with Lydia, Mike's self-proclaimed sexism stopped him from killing her initially and, despite insisting there be no witnesses, Jesse clearly didn't seem prepared for the reality of that. If you're going to make rules, you sure better stick to them.

I don't get the Skyler hate. Especially with this season...
A lot of Skyler haters (the annoying ones, anyway) are misogynistic teenage boys that think Walt is always in the right about everything. That's not anyone here, but go to Facebook and IMDb and you'll find the type. I don't get why people ignore a well-written, well-acted and realistic character just because she gets in Mr White's way. :whatever: Those people don't understand the show at all.

I was hoping they'd steal the train with magnets. :csad:

:funny: I seriously thought someone was going to bring up magnets one way or another in that scene.

Seriously, how else do you expect Skyler to react to all that has happened? All the Skyler haters never mention this.

Skyler is worried that her children are going to be murdered....and they would have been, had they been home when the Twins came to kill Walt...or had Tuco gone nuts looking for Walt at any time....or had Gus carried through his threat. Walt is an arrogant bastard for not realizing that he is going to get his children killed, or thinking that he can stop it again. Skyler is right. And she didn't even know the specifics of Tuco, the Twins, or Gus. Walt does know. He is beyond excuses or bullcrap rationalizations.

George Mastras was credited with writing and directing tonight's episode.)Gilligan likely did the final writing edit, he just didn't choose to take a credit like Matthew Weiner, Aaron Sorkin, Daivd E. Kelly do) but still Mastras worked his way up from season one story editor to full time writer and directing one of the most memorable episodes of the entire series!

I loved the way the episode was shot, there were some great shot of imagery, the set ups of the scenes and so on, the way it was edited and put together. Everyone involved this episode did a stellar job.

Damn this show is good fun.

Walt didn't even move an inch, that tells you something.

This.

in some way all three, mike, jesse and walter admitted, knew and stated in this episode that eventually they have to kill someone...

mike: leave no witnesses...
jesse and walter: no one talks/noone can know about it

i also enjoyed the movie reference: heat
also another jesse james reference
and dont forget the spider...

And that's what I love about the show, that the characters don't stick to their rules, simply because they are confronted with circumstances where they can't, and the writers yet again hit Jesse where it hurts. Big time.

Wonder if Jesse is gonna start using again, to avoid his reality now.

just brilliant...
The tarantula serves as a metaphor. Despite looking scary on the outside, the tarantula is a gentle and harmless creature. Walter and Todd are the exact opposite and Jesse, who speaks the most slang and dresses the most like a drug dealer, is the most gentle one.

This is twice now that Jesse James has been mentioned on the show. It's probably best not to forget that James was killed by one of his partners.

So far we got Heat, Scarface, and Jesse James mentioned in this season. Season 5 part 2 is going be something. Also we have 3 more episodes left! :csad:

For anyone that's seen The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford it's pretty ominous that they keep making Jesse James references.

Half of me expects Walt to lay down his guns, gesture at a picture and say "Don't that picture look dusty?" whilst Jesse weeps in a rocking chair.

We were talking about Skyler. Don't use straw men.

The hell, Chase. Everyone likes to whip out the "straw men" card, but here it makes no sense. He legitmally answered your response with more than a "Skyler's a ***** because she's a *****" and you just brush it off. :whatever:

Why does she deserve to die? Still waiting for an answer.

She didn't turn in Walt to BE a good mother. She didn't want her kids knowing that their father went to jail for manufacturing meth. Now, she realizes that that was the wrong choice to make, but it's too late because she's already become an accomplice and will be punished as well, which would put the kids in an even worse position than she ever thought.

She isn't being a *****, or a terrible mother. She's conflicted.

That's not being a good mother. That's being selfish. You are saying that she can't turn in Walt now because she will go to jail too and her kids will be raised by someone else..........when she wants her kids to be currently raised by Hank and Marie at her own request. She hates Walt for putting them in harm's way yet she does nothing to stop him except theatrics in front of Hank and Marie. She also cheated on Walt back when he was still a sympathetic character. Skyler empowers Walt to continue what he is doing. She could have left long ago. She could have turned him in every single day of her life. Not turning in Walt is not being a hero. She chooses saving Walt face in front of their kids over possible death of her kids and herself? Skyler has been nothing but annoying the entire series. I think I read somewhere that the reason there are no strong female leads in this show is because all the writers are men or something along those lines. That's fine... I don't care but it shows why Marie and Skyler are so damn annoying.

And yes...Walt deserves to die.

What a perfect episode. What a perfect piece of TV.
The last 15 minutes I was like : O
Awesome. Just awesome.

Why is this show ending? WHYYYY.

There for a while I was thinking that last season Skylar was gonna make Carmela Soprano and Nancy Botwin look like Martha Stewart and Rachel Ray. She really seemed like she was about to step up and be a total badass but after what happened with Ted she has just crumbled. I kinda do wanna see her die, I understand her reasoning but yea there is no reason she shouldn't have turned him in by now. Or at the very least she should understand that Walt has done everything he has for the family. Now though he's just gone off the deep end and I think we are really gonna see just how bad he has fallen the next 3 episodes

With all of the Scarface/Jesse James talks

I hope Gilligan does not go the copy a historical route in dealing with Walt.

I am certain now Walt is going to get killed at the end of the series...I just hope its not the cancer that kills him, that would be kind of lame.

that was the first time her actions "hurt" someone. that was something she never before experienced.

in the beginning, i think skyler did understand why walter got into the drug business, but what she didnt expect were the massiv side effects..

especially after the death of gus fring walter became another person. gus fring was the one only person who kept walter in his " jail-cell". he was someone that was on the same "level" like walter. probably even smarter than walter in some terms, and that's something walter wasnt used. he was always the guy who told other people what to do, but that wasnt the case with gus fring. that changed after he killed him, he knew that the only guy who was capable to beat him, is not there anymore. he won. now, it's time for him to dictate things..the worst thing for skyler was that gus fring died...

Good lord that ending, I was a suspicious on Todd (thought he was a narc) but this definitely rule that one out. This will no doubt cause a dispute between the group and I can't wait to see the fallout. Also, Flynn, didn't Walt Jr. stop going by that nickname back in season 3 or am I mistaken?
