Breaking Bad - Part 3

I don't think the time frame of the show is a mistake, I think it's just intentionally vague.

the flip phones are burners. meaning prepaid cellphones which are cheaper.

Was about to post this.

I was pretty quick to accept the elastic time frame of the show. I forget where I read it but somebody said made the simple case that's it more important that a year has passed than it's 2008 or whatever.

Very spoilish review of Season 5 and brought up points from past seasons. Also a skit at the beginning! Hope you guys enjoy!

Everyone nitpicking about the passage of time needs a life, yo!

That's what Jesse would say.

Shut up, Walter. Does it really matter how much time has passed?

That's what Mike would say.

Who doesn't love breakfast?

That's what Walt Jr would say.

I rest my case.

Shame that the last episode didn't go over 3.0

Too many people sad over Mike to watch episode 8.

It was up 40% compared to season four's finale and it was a Sunday on a long weekend, people could've saved it for Monday on their DVRs. Great to see the show keeps on growing and will only continue to grow for their final season. Few if any can say their last season was their most watched. A viewership decline over two seasons can usually end a show. Breaking Bad's growth could keep it going for a 7th season like Mad Men.

Seinfeld's 9th season was their highest. Anyone think of any others? MASH, Friends, The Sopranos peaked in the ratings two seasons before they ended.

How would it get a season 7 when it isn't even getting a 6th season?

I mean, the final 8 episodes next year could be considered the 6th season but it's just like Sopranos last season and broken up into two halves. I don't even like thinking about how we have to wait another year. It's really gonna suck waiting for this **** to come back

My prediction for how it's all going to play out, and I don't expect any of this to be right:

Once Walt finds out that Hank knows, he's forced to make the tough decision and leave his family for a life on the run. That takes us back to where we found him at the start of the season. However, Fat Hugh Jackman, being unable to find Heisenberg, hunts down Jesse and kidnaps him to force him back into cooking. Walt catches wind of this and returns to Albuquerque to rescue Jesse. Todd, who has become the main cook, is killed by Walter in order to save Jesse. Unfortunately, the return to Albuquerque ultimately costs Walter, as Hank is able to catch up to him and arrest him. The last shot of the season is Walter in prison as two neo-Nazis - ostensibly hired by Todd's uncle for the purposes of revenge - approach Walter, armed with shivs. Right before we watch the death of Walter White, the screen goes black. Credits roll.

I'm not a fan either, but at least I'll be distracted by Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, TWD, Sunny, etc etc.

Huh..interesting.

When Walt is meeting with Todd's uncle, there's a reference to the Bin Laden assassination. I'd always assumed the show was taking place in 2007 or 2008, given when it started and how little time has passed for Walt, but that's a much more recent reference. When does this show actually take place?

Vince Gilligan: We do have a few inoncsistencies here and there, to be sure. We try not to set it in any particular time. Going backwards, I don't think we ever say. We do have clues, like in the first episode, Walt's hanidcap placard has the date 2007 on it, which if I had my druthers, I'd go back and change. Every now and then you'll see a license plate or something else, like a plaque in Pollos Hermanos saying it was voted "Favorite Restaurant 2010." As time has progressed, a few of these things have slipped by. But in my mind's eye, this is the present. What I mean by that is, I like people in 2007 thinking this is the present, and now in 2012 thinking this is the present. At a certain point, 20 years from now, it will, based on clothing and technology and cars, it'll begin to feel more of a specific time, but in my mind's eye I see it as continually the present. That's also why we don't ever say what month it is.

The writing staff knew at the beginning of S4, they wanted Tio to kill Gus, but they weren't sure how or how to get there. All they had was an index card that read, "Ding. Boom."

I can see all of that happening, until the part where Hank catches Walt. I think either Walt will kill Hank, or Hank will kill Walt before Walt is arrested. Obviously, Jesse will have to be there when this happens, and I have no idea what he would do in either situation.

How would it get a season 7 when it isn't even getting a 6th season?

If Vince and the cast were open to continue the show and be like most people in TV and just work until the network cancels you then the growth they've seen would get them a 2 year deal from AMC (season 6 and 7). Mad Men has been getting 2 year deals and Breaking Bad is now getting the same numbers of MM. Plus Emmy nominations and wins. Vince wants to go out on top, leaving the audience wanting more. During season three he talked about how the fourth season could be the last one.

Honestly, Vince Gilligan has created the best show on television. The show ending next year will be the best, because it's going to end up on top.

Would anyone's minds be blown if frankie muniz ever made a cameo appearance, preferably as a meth addict?

LMFAO! He could play a grown up Jesse's little brother! Lol
