Breaking Bad - Part 4

Yup. That final scene in episode 5 (well, half of the season), was the clam before the storm. Now we wait for fit to hit the shan.

Okay, I'm relatively new to this series, really started watching until it came on Netflix, I'm halfway into season 3 right now. Love Saul and mike (great additions to the cast) I'm guessing it gets deeper in the fourth season and forward right? I actually saw the ending of the 5th mid season closer so I'm pretty surprised by that.

Second half of season 3 and season 4 is the best chunk of the series (so far). Not sure what you mean by "deeper" though.

Like deeper in crime I guess, I assuming Walt and Jesse will kill again and things of that nature.

I'm in the minority but I think the show has lost some of its touch. It's still fantastic, but having seen Walt change during the first four seasons, it's almost like now he's a comical villain. I can't believe people still have the "LOL he's Heisenberg now" conversations. Walt's been on a dark road for a long time. He's not a schizo. He's done many reprehensible things to save his own ass. He doesn't value the people around him.

I'm rambling. I'm just saying that Walt's turn into basically a drug lord has been great, but I'm glad that the arc is coming to a close. Otherwise we'd potentially see Walt being a caricature of the dark, conflicted character we grew to know.

Yeah, the peak of this show for me, was the second half of the third season and all of season four. Season Five was awesome, don't get me wrong, but I don't know. Feels different.

I always loved how tragically beautiful season 2 was. The stuff with the brothers in season 3 seemed to drag on for ****ing ever.

Seasons two and three had those questions of, "How far will Walt go?"

If there was any question, the end of season 4 showed us he was a near complete monster with little to no humanity left. So, the show loses a great deal of tension because, unlike previous seasons, it's not about watching Walt lose his humanity. It's more about him being a full on villain now.

I have to agree with that. But I'm still rooting for and have been rooting for Walt and I know he won't get away, but I hope so.

I can't stand Walt. I sympathized with him in season 2 and 3, even if I strongly disagreed with his choices, but he's put so many people in harm's way just to keep himself safe it's despicable.

He's truly an awful person LOL.

How could one still root for him after all this time.

because not everthing in life is black and white. sometimes it's grey...walter did some horrible things...but on his way to save his family, he got lost. i feel for him, the pain he will have to suffer will be much more painful than dying because of cancer..

True but the fact that he's had chances to walk away makes it hard to care at all.

no doubt about that, but you have to keep in mind that walter walked away from so many things in life. he always pulled away (grey matter, wasted potential in life, always scared), never took a risk, never went full measure. this guy could have been one of the best scientist off all time, but he never lived up to his full potential. this is something that he realized painful after the cancer diagnosis. this is why he got so desperate and cruel...walter doesnt care if he dies during this process, he prefers to have one great m....fu.cking year, instead of 10 boring years. he's going all in, sadly, he should have been so passionate with things in life before his cancer diagnosis...but sometimes in life, death can be a trigger for something good or bad..

Still my favorite facial reaction from Walt...

I like Walt because he's an entertaining character, but that's as far as it goes. I have zero sympathy for him and very much hope that he's on the receiving end of some epic retribution before it's all said and done.

I wonder the same thing. Interviews from Gilligan himself basically tell us Walt is a bastard and does not deserve any sympathy at this point. People still project their anger onto Skyler for her trying to steer clear of Walt's destruction instead of being angry at Walt for causing so many, so goddamn many problems all for his own ego.

I guess from season the end of season 2 till now its more like a birth of villain, than him becoming a hero of sorts.

There has been no "peak" on this show for me. It's just progressively got more intense as it's gone along. This show is perfect. Anyone that does not agree can take some of that blue meth, shine it up real nice and stick it straight up your...

Hahaha I will agree with you there Retro. It has just gotten better and better.

The only episode that felt off to me (not necessarily a bad thing) was the Fly episode but I get why they did it. It's meant to be a bottle episode. Otherwise it's been growing an growing in intensity and I love it.

that's what i loved about the Fly episode. It played out like a surreal episode of breaking bad.

it was also directed by rian johnson, one of the reasons why im incredibly biased towards it.:oldrazz:
