Breaking Bad - Part 4

Season three was fantastic on the first viewing (and it's still great), but upon rewatches, knowing where the series goes, it feels like it really spins its wheels in the beginning.

"You all know EXACTLY who I am..... Say my name."

That was one of the single most EPIC moments in tv history EVER

I thought it would have been hilarious if they actually didn't know who he was, it would have illustrated perfectly how deluded Walt had become.

Nah man it would have made that moment so dumb. That scene alone is like the culmination of everything this show had been working toward. Walt finally being "on top" and knowing he's won. That scene was ****ing magnificent

When all is said and done, season 3 will be viewed as the best of the series. The cold openings of 3 have never been matched by another season of television, BB or otherwise. The writing is driven, frantic, wildly unpredictable and refreshingly unshackled to standard tv planning tropes. Even higher quality shows like Boadwalk Empire, Justified, and Dexter(being very generous here) have succumbed to the "season long bad guy" and it was shocking and yet entirely logical to have things in 3 play out at a much faster pace. I rewatch episodes from this batch more than any other. It's like if the Coen Brothers directed an entire season of tv.

See that's how I am with 4 and the first half of 5. I've watched them soooo much at this point

I haven't re-watched the first half of season 5 yet. I'm curious how fluid it plays out with the other seasons.

5 is pretty akward so far... Walt seems overly evil and it's pretty jarring, like the reveal that he poisoned Brock was supposed to put him totally over the edge. It just doesn't flow that well, TBH. And Jesse dissappearing is very, VERY noticable.

Aaron Paul is severely underused and it's a ****ing shame.

I think they are saving him for the 2nd half.

we should judge the season 5 not until the full conclusion of the last half. because it's the last season, they had to rush. for example the episode in which the robbed the train, this episode would have been stretched into at least 3 episodes, but not possible cause they needed to go on with the main story. the whole purpose of the first half of season 5 is to show walter white on the throne, his final achievement was the deal with the phoenix crew. he's finished. now the downfall will start....

breaking bad was always about characters, i expect one hell of a final and reading articles and watching the stuff behind the show, vince will go full measure..

vince g. doents believe in hell, walter will face his sins in this lifetime..

I finished episode 5 in season 4. So far, season 2 is my favorite.

But damn, it's really just a matter of time before Hank catches up with Walt. And Skyler is more likeable this season.

I finished season 4 yesterday Holy **** sweet Jesus what a finale! Despite me knowing Gus's death, that entire set up was tense nonetheless. Those last three episode. My God, some of the series best. And how Walt actually poisoned Brock to coax Jesse into action? WOW.

Is season five the last season?

Yep. But only half has aired.

I avoid this thread like the plague. Dont want to accidentally read a spoiler or anything. I dont even know if there ARE spoilers but Im not gonna risk it.

Just that Walter takes the toilet paper so Hank can never leave. Ever.

Whoa. Hank's realization on the toilet.

Hilarious and amazing.

I am now caught up to speed on one of the greatest shows of all time. Bring on the conclusion!

It's objectively a better show than any other I've had the pleasure of watching. Again, it's not my favorite(although it would definitely make my top 10 and might even crack my top 5), but it is the best. It resists the urge to be flashy or full of fanfare and rises well above mere entertainment into meaningful, important art that truly has something to say.

Listen to him, he is serious with his serious objective art.

Aaron Paul just tweeted that the season will premiere on July 14th. That puts the finale on September 1st. Thankfully Labor Day is September 2nd so we can all decompress, complain, rewatch, discuss and soak in.

walt probably dies, but how? should be an amazing conclusion to the best tv show ever.

Nah but I do feel the ricin will be a huge part of the last episode....or maybe the first episode back.

I'm sure none of us will be able to guess what's gonna happen.
