:funny:

That's probably my favorite one I've seen. The Santa ones got kinda played out pretty quickly.

He was just describing the character arc of Walt using easy to understand pop culture references. Although I think he should have maybe used something more contemporary than Mr. Chips. :o

I think some people have taken that statement by vince (which he still makes all the time) a little too literally and try to compare walt to montana and even at walt's worst I don't see much character over-lap between the two.

The Michael Corleone analogy works closer in my mind. Of course the Godfather has pretty much influenced every crime genre piece since its debut so it shouldn't be too surprising.

BB is its own entity but it does owe a lot to past works. Just this past half-season we've had at least two Godfather references, the hank-walt "it was you!" confrontation and the bag of oranges falling to the ground.

I discovered last night that Jesse's ringtone in the last episode is from the beginning of a Hello Kitty song. A nice little touch with his new phone. :yay:

I still have Hank's "Marie" ringtone as my personal ringtone: link.

The intro to the Hello Kitty song totally sounds like porn music. :o

For those of you who might have been left a bit disappointed at last week's episode, I recommend you give it another watch.

I thought it was great, but not on the typical Breaking Bad level. But after rewatching it, it's grown on me IMMENSELY and I can safely say that I was wrong and it is well at and above typical Breaking Bad level.

Like Fly, I think this is an episode that turns people off first because it's so radically different from what's come before. Maybe you just don't like it, that's fine. But if you're on the fence, give it another watch.

i think the pace will change dramatically in the next 4... until now it was pretty much getting all the pieces in line for the big clash..

That's probably the case. I prefer cherishing these relative moments of calm before things get even worse, which is crazy to say since this season has already been so intense. But it's only a matter of time before people start dying.

Did this episode feel very...different? I didn't get that to be honest, it seemed pretty typical BB to me...

Huell doing diarrhea jokes on It's Always Sunny tonight =

Anyone think we'll get the pork pie and shades one last time?

Hank Learns About Marie's New Husband

Poor bastard. :funny:

man can Sundays get any better? BB and Fantasy Football, match made in friggin heaven!

It certainly did to me. I don't remember another episode where we had Act 1 and 2 take place simultaneously, and never overlap on screen. Also considering the breakneck pace these first few three were going, I think many were just surprised at how this episode took its time. And that's not a bad thing at all.

I guess so. The overlap was different, but I don't know, it still kind of felt BBish to me. The series has always had what you would call slower paced episodes, so I didn't think about it.

I think once we start binge watching season 5B like the previous seasons, it wont feel as off. At least that's how I felt watching season 5A after my two marathons early this year.
