In the EW article, Gilligan calls Lydia "Darth Vader in Louboutins", implying she's this season's Big Bad.

I'm just picturing the start of A New Hope when the stormtroopers board the ship and kill the crew and Lydia emerging from the doorway with one hand over her eyes and the other being held by Todd in stormtrooper armor.

I actually felt sorry for Hank until he made that comment about not caring if Jesse got killed by Walt.

It seemed a bit out of character given how Hank has progressed the last season or so.

I wonder if it was the writers trying to force ambiguity into each character's motives, or if they really want us to not root for Hank as much.

I'm still for Hank busting Walt all the way.

Hank was allways like this when it comes to criminals, it's only when he's the one killing them when he starts to get depressed.

I think it's more a case of Hank just having tunnel vision toward getting Walt. That's what he's focused on, and a druggie who he doesn't particularly like getting wasted just doesn't matter to his overall goal right now.

This is how I interpreted it as well. It didn't seem out of character for Hank at all. Hank is the same guy who was laughing up a storm and posing for pictures with the corpse of one of Tuco's thugs.

I did too, till you realize what jessie would have admitted. He's been an accessory to multiple homicides including a child, helped launch a drug empire and made hank think his wife was in an accident.
