Sequels Bryan Singer on the Future of the X-Men Franchise...and possibly an X-Men 4

I think the best thing now would be to have Bryan Singer helm all of the X-Franchise. He should be a creative force on X:FC2 and have X:FC3 be about Jean, Cyclops and Ororo. As for X-Men 4, it's just not necessary to retcon anything. Just make it so Jean is nigh unkillable as Phoenix, she could rise from the grave and give out some sort of energy that revives Cyclops, and restores Rogue's powers, with flight and strength. It's just the Wolverine films that are the most messed up.

Jean and Scott are dead, dude. There's tons of X-Men lure left to explore without them and no need to backtrack.

Rogue can easily get her powers back since Magneto moved the chess piece at the end of The Last Stand.

The thing is, that "mess" wasn't a problem to the people outside the comic book circle. The fans didn't like seeing Scott die, but to regular people it added seriousness to the plot. I don't consider myself a purist because I enjoy the movies as much as I enjoy the source material. For me, the execution of The Last Stand was fine. With Scott dead, the threat of Jean's lack of control was solidified. I knew from the moment Scott died that these characters were in serious danger from one of their own. Had you taken that away - then I just would not have been sold on Phoenix being any real threat at all. My ex-wife loved the Cyclops character more than any other X-Man and she still dug what and why they did it. I remember feeling kinda bad for her since her fav guy was killed off but she spent the second half of the movie worried about the fate of the rest of the team - which I'm pretty sure is what the writers and the director wanted you to do. I didn't wanna see Scott go either, I love Jimmy Marsden, but I really felt that sense of danger throughout the movie thanks to his demise.

I would love to see Days of Future Past on film. But not if its an attempt to correct a previous installment in the series.

I see First Class as part one of trilogy.

If Hugh jackman plays wolverine again after The Wolverine it will likely be for X4 or post X2 film since there remains chance first class Is removing Last Stand from contunity.We will know for sure once we see last Stand.

I see X4 or whatever as adaptan of days of future past.While there are always chances for sequels to It.

because first class is a prequel and yet contradicts XO:Wolverine and quite alot of the last stand, and then we got "the wolverine" which again is trying to take itself away from the franchise so...

Assuming The Last Stand In still In cannon I could see Xteam of Wolverine,Rogue,Iceman,Colossus,Angel and possably recasted Beast and Gambit in
a version of days of future past.I see that as most likely sceniro.Now If last Stand were

I think Days of future past Is most likely as starting point for x4(although question remains Is Last Stand still part of contunity) and to finally bring In Sentinles on screen.

I would like to see an epic in the same vein as X2: X-men United, instead of the travesty that was X3: The Last Stand.

I would have it set in the same continuity (it IS workable) and make X4 and X5 as back-to-back stories.

-Bolivar Trask has been introduced in the third film.
- We are introduced to Nathaniel Essex.
- He works for Trask as a scientist, helping him throughout the film.
-After seeing the events on Alcatraz Island, Trask has begun work on "Project Wide Awake".
- Now, without Xavier, the school has moved forward with Beast and Storm as the primary teachers.
-Logan has left the school.
- Angel has stayed.

The X-Men consist of:

- Colossus
- Iceman
- Angel
- Shadow Cat
with Storm and Beast participating in the finale.

We are also introduced to a mysterious character, Remy Lebeau. He's older, in his mid 40's...

He serves as an "ambassador" and acolyte to Magneto, who is still de-powered. He comes to warn the X-men about what Erik has discovered about "Project Wide Awake. Realizing he has little power and options...Magneto joins the X-men...as a tactician and leader.


By films end, Magneto refuses to permanently join the X-men, and now that he has full rage of his powers, leaves them...going on his own--Gambit stays with the X-men.

At the end of the film, the Sentinels turn, beginning to hunt humans, and now the X-men must stop them to save the humans. The mysterious Nathaniel Essex reveals his true self as Mr. Sinister--and he has been spending his time re-programming the Sentinels to do his own bidding....to help unleash the "Age of Apocalypse".

The film ends with a cliff hanger that Mr. Sinister has Scott Summers captive and the films ends with a fight between Cyclops and the younger X-men.

The next film is the X-men racing against the clock to find Sinister and stop him before he is able to release Apocalypse. Cyclops, recovering from his enslavement by Sinister now works to regain the X-men's trust and re-emerge as the leader of the team.

Realizing the severity of the situation, Magneto returns to aid the X-men in stopping Mr. Sinister from releasing Apocalypse. The film ends with one of the final "keys" needed to unleash En Saba Nur being Charles Xavier himself...revealed to be alive, living in Scotland, not fully aware of who he is.

The next film, would just be an all out globe trotting film taking down Apocalypse and having Angel captured and turned into Archangel and maybe introduce Dark Beast as the Judas of the X-men, with the X-men team consisting of:

Cyclops
Iceman
Beast (Until he betrays them)
Shadow Cat
Storm
Colossus
Gambit

And the brotherhood

Magneto
Pyro (returns)
Sabretooth
Mystique
Toad
Avalanche

I think there is still potential to right much of the wrongs from the third film, and still give us entertaining stories....I think X-Men: First Class is a step in the right direction....I would like to, however, see at least a couple films set after X3: The Last Stand to give some characters who were shafted justice.

They are not going to expunge X3: The Last Stand from the film continuity....definitely not.

This is a flick that made the studio $450 million world wide....it wasn't a flop...in fact, it was the fourth biggest film of the year it came out and the TOP earner of the X-men Film Series.

Still, they can work out the issues from the third film if they want to.

Trask WAS Bolivar Trask...plain and simple. Yeah, there are two men with the last name Trask working for the government? Please. They can just have the cure showdown be an "aha moment" for him. Jean caused a lot of destruction and killed a lot of people. He'll see that someone needs to protect the humans in this conflict. He begins work on "Project Wide Awake" and creates the Master Mold.

Xavier can be in Scotland with Moira, not fully knowing who he is or have him taken captive (in his weaken state) by one of the films villains (Mr. Sinister, perhaps).

Scott can also be enslaved by Sinister...this would remain true to the character's history. That, or have Jean moved him somewhere desolate and he finds his way back to the team by the mid point of X-Men 4.

Colossus doesn't need to be recast...Cudmore is a serviceable actor for the part. If they want the accent (which if Singer directs, I don't think he will. After all, Cudmore wanted to use the Russian accent in X2: X-men United but Singer vetoed it).

Magneto, we saw, is regaining his powers....but this will be slow. I think the story options of a de-powered, vulnerable Magneto are cool. They can either give the aging McKellen a break, and not ask him back for the fourth installment, or they can have him come to the X-men for help, now that he is weak....and they are aligned against a common foe. And ultimately have him come back fully powered in the final film of the series.

There are so many villains that we can still see:

- The Morlocks
- Shadow King
- Omega Red
- Mr. Sinister
- A "new Brotherhood": Avalanche, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver
- The Sentinels
- Graydon Creed (And the Friends of Humanity, maybe have Stryker be their inspiration...)
- Bolivar Trask
- Bastion
- Nimrod


And more.


There are some corners that they have been written into, but no more so than they are by the choices of mutants in X-men Origins: Wolverine, or X-Men: First Class.


They don't need to recon....they just need to get creative.

This is one of the few posts I've read lately about X-Men that makes the most sense. All of this could easily be accomplished.

I'm thinking about writing up a treatment for a three film arc that would involve:

- Project Wide Awake, Trask, Graydon Creed and the Friends of Humanity and the Sentinels (Graydon Creed will come to Trask, taking up the mantle of Stryker, looking for Trask to be the savior of the human race after the incident with the Cure on Alcatraz Island.
- Mr. Sinister and Mesmero
- Apocalypse.


I want to wait until after X-men: First Class because I'll have to see the continuity established there as well.

Characters I would like to bring into the fold or existing characters I would like to bring to the forefront are:

- Angel (captured in X5 or X6 becoming Archangel/Death)
- Gambit (as Magneto's protector and one of his Acolytes, along with Pyro, Avalanche and bring back Toad...this is the same Gambit from X-men Origins: Wolverine. He's older now, but has been experimented on by humans and would probably welcome Magneto's cause...later to become an X-man...
- Avalanche would be introduced and Toad would return (great character).
- Rogue would have three picture arc where she gradually gets he powers back and eventual comes to terms with them...embracing them (sadly, no romance with Gambit).
- Colossus would get a larger role: He's such a great character in the comics...a gentle giant, who is almost a pacifist--but will fight for what is right.
- Mr. Sinister as the villain who knows the whereabouts of Scott Summers...maybe introduce a younger Havok as Sinister's right hand man...and reveal that he is Scott's brother who Sinister genetically altered to make him more youthful and in control of his power (Havok from X-men: First Class would be around 70)

Just some ideas I have kicking around my head.

Doing all of this would lead to an epic--globe trotting final film against Apocalypse involving the X-men, a restocked Brotherhood and the Sentinels vs the first mutant.

If X4 happens we can expected 2 things.1 Directed by Bryan Singer and likely a version of Days of Future Past.Beyond that a lot of unknows.

Hugh jackman will be the high paid star to return.Because of that I can see them not bringing back halle Berry.Although she has shown willingness to return If she were to ask for same salary Jackman wanted that could price her out of It.Kelsey Grammer,Ellen Page,and Ben Foster had sequel clauses
In their contracts for last Stand but they may have expired by now.Grammer
may not want to go through the makeup again.And to get Anna Paquin back they may give Rogue Kitty's role In a Days of future past adaptian.

There are going to be Limitians to who Singer could bring back to bring the Sentinles on screen.
