I think the only thing that really bothered me in the end was the concept of Batman and Superman fighting. I bought into why but I'm a hero loving guy so it's difficult to watch for me.

Probably because they didn't fight over ideology, it was a manipulation. Which means, ideologically, they still aren't on the same page so the fight was meaningless

Batman and Superman don't kill...on screen. Based on what else I've read here, that doesn't seem right. Is that true?

Batman most certainly killed some thugs. Superman has one definite kill which doesn't really count and one where he may or may not have killed a man. I don't get the impression that he did in the latter scenario, but I can see why some choose to believe so.

The problem is, the film had over 100,000 fan ratings before it even opened in theaters. Clearly, that's over a 100,000 (likely positive) fan ratings from people who never even saw the movie and were just hoping it'd be good. So, yer average rating is already horribly skewed. Imagine if they didn't allow those fan ratings until opening day.

I really don't get why they do that. Once it changes over to audience score it should be N/A.

After seeing the movie I have to say I'm pretty surprised at some of the really strong negative critical reactions. The movie is flawed, no doubt and I don't blame anyone for not liking it. But the level of acidic vitriol for this movie by some critics (and fans) just seems bizarre to me.

It was an ideological battle that was so grim and muddled that I couldn't invest in either side of the argument, and then it didn't matter because it wasn't what the fight was about.

Well saw it and it was worth the price of admission. I could see it getting the same score as MOS but I do think critics are holding this movie to insane standards. Possibly a case of TOO hype for everyone. Director and actors where saying this movie was transcendent and with rhetoric like that you need a masterpiece.

I could be wrong but I have no other idea why it got sooooo much hate. But I thought the same thing about Amazing Spiderman 2....

Yeah, how can anybody claim that the clash between Superman and Batman was about ideology, especially by the way that it ended?

I hope as more people like you, flickchick, and Snow Queen have seen the movie that realized that perhaps the critics weren't really biased or have an agenda against BVS, the less people will blame Marvel for somehow created the bias among the movie reviewers in the first place (an absurd claim that I've seen posted all too often on Facebook and other social media sites).

Agreed. Chalking up the low scores to a "bias" is absurd. It's sloppily executed and stuffed to the brim where no character besides Batman has any room to breathe.

I'm noticing that a lot of people are also claiming that it's a movie "made for comic book fans" but I'm seeing more and more comic book fans say they didn't like it.

People are also glossing over the fact that the audience rating has been falling too.

If it was made for the fans, but critics didn't like it, what about the GA? Is it not made for them? Will they not find the movie a mess and boring and jumbled...saying it's made for the fans is kinda alienating 90% of the GA, at least...by their logic.
