The poll at SHH's front page is worse. Majority of the voters voted for 0%. So I guess it isn't just the critics.

Only if the Oscar commitee likes his muted colors which doesn't give justice to the cinematography's work.

They could, who knows. I mean he would be better in that role.

It's not the critics. I think it was Poni_boy that said that someone calculated the numbers of the audience ratings that came in after the movie had premiered (as a ton was put in before people could see it) and it was in the 40s.

But to be fair, the front page poll at SHH is pretty trollish. I didn't really like the movie but I can't see the majority honestly giving it 0/10.

Wow really? If I didn't know better, I'd swear people think this is the worse movie in the world.

Now folks, honest question. I know some of you guys were disappointed, didn't like it, or maybe even straight up hated it. But I gotta ask, do you guys even think this film, for all it's problems, deserve all the hate it's getting? And please be as neutral as possible, even though I know that's not possible, but try. And I'm mainly asking the one's who were hopeful or at least neutral to begin with in regards to feelings towards this film, not the trolls who sit by idly at the computer refreshing RT every 5 minutes waiting for the score to go lower, because I know some of you guys are out there :nono:. I mean I don't even think GL or FFINO got this amount of crap.

It's all those Marvel fans! It's all their fault! With their Captain Amoorica, Ironing Man and Thorballs. Damn them all!

It's not a terrible movie. It's a movie full of wasted potential and some very cool moments.

No. It's not that bad. I always got the impression that a great many people were waiting for this movie to fail, and now that they've seen it has, they really want to put the boot in. Human nature. It's a 5/10 movie. Nothing more, nothing less.

I want the movie to be successful. I have been following it since the announcement. I have lots of high hopes despite not a big fan of MOS, trusting WB/DC to know what they were doing by going all in with Snyder's vision. All the trailers were honestly great to me. I have high hopes.

Then the reviews came and I revise my lower expectation. Then I watched the movie and was devastated. There is a brilliant movie beneath the awful pacing and all the horrible editing. I couldn't believe how it can get so bad and I consider myself a guy who is easily pleased.

I am angry because of all the wasted potential. I want the movie to be successful but I don't want that to send a message to WB that they can go out with Snyder like this. I want them to drop Snyder and fix the thing because I'm not sure I can survive JL being another disappointment

And I don't believe that most of haters are just people wanting the movie to fail. I believe this movie got so much hate and anger because fans realize how much potential this movie has, and WB/Snyder has totally destroyed it. People won't hate it that much if they don't believe in BvS' potential

People love to hate and kicking down something when it's already down.

It's more than actually quality of the movie. Let's hope this won't end up as trendy thing to hate DC material like hating Transformers, 50 shades of Grey, Twilight etc before watching. It will happen eventually if WB keep it at this rate.

I mean the movie "i saw the light" has 13% and those kinda movies crave for critics rating to be popular enough to make oscar buzz and box office hit. But noone cares because it wasn't as hyped as BvS.

It's all about the critics. They know best.

That's no more likely make my embarrass myself by saying "F the critics" or such than the BvS score is.

The TV ratings are generally not as functional on RT though since far fewer critics do them, especially as the seasons of shows go on. Just as a side note.

I'm not sure what the point of the image is.

I'm not sure what the point of the image is.

Critics hate DC and love Marvel. No wait. Critics are too harsh. No wait. Critics want DC things to fail. No wait. I give up

This place is suddenly so nice to read with all the ignored experts.

Not surprising given the less than mature headline to your review. It's seven syllables though, not three. Oddly fitting though.

Wow. That's, yeah. Wow.

In the same vein, I'll repost this here because I feel it won't fall of deaf ears:

It's easy to understand the "haters" if you shelve your like/dislike of the movie itself and look at what it represents. BvS represents the live action realization of many comics fans most favorite heroes. It's the first time they are ever seen together on the big screen in their history. It's the tent pole of al tent poles to usher in the most famous comic book superteam ever. It comes on the heels of a film that had a lukewarm reception. It comes after a three year wait, one year of which was inexplicable and very frustrating for even a casual fan. It comes with an insane amount of publicity. It comes with an Oscar winning screenwriter who was the Great White Hope of this franchise. It comes on months and months of reports of positive word of mouth, some going as far as to say studio execs gave it standing ovations in test screenings. It comes with equal parts anticipation and skepticism. It's without the doubt the most talked about movie this summer. No matter where you turn there is a promotion for this movie. Everyone knows about it. Grandmothers, priests, neighbors who don't really go to the movies. Over the past few months fans were given a downpour of visual engagement and promises that THIS was the movie they've been waiting forever for and THIS was the movie that would absolutely satisfy them. Amid the whispers and stories of problems surrounding it, hardly anyone gave up hope. Fans waved their BvS banners loud and proud and struck down anyone who tried to even manage their expectations. We're they wrong? Hell no. That is the movie they were sold. But it's not the movie they got.

It doesn't matter if you liked this movie. It doesn't matter if you hated this movi. What matters is understanding that this entire experience was stillborn. Fans are divided almost equally and very brutally. Most haven't even seen this kind of vitriol in Marvel vs DC debates. A movie that was supposed to unite a fanbase has divided it quicker than anything else DC related, quite possibly ever. Think about that. You may have liked the movie. That's for you to decide. But you cannot deny that the entire experience of this movie's production, release and fallout has been a frustrating, exhausting and unsatisfying one for us. We, who it was supposed to champion. It failed us. The filmmakers failed us. And the studio, who obviously knew this was on the horizon, failed us most of all. People aren't hating the movie, they're hating what the movie represents. A waste of a decade or more of hope and promise, leading to an unsure cinematic future. These characters deserved better and so did we.

I think people tend to view the tomatometer with their heart instead of their head. A 1% wouldn't mean that the critics felt it was the worst movie ever, it'd just mean there's a nearly universal consensus that it wasn't a good film.

Serious question, and I say this as someone that has done my share of posting jags in the past... Poni, is posting on these threads the only thing you've been doing for like two to three days straight, day and night? I have a very chill over night job which gives me time to post between 11pm and 7am most days. Have you gotten any sleep or is this out of the ordinary circumstances?

Glad someone noticed :yay: I'll just say no it's not normal circumstances. And yes I'd rather be doing something else.

The one thing that saddens me is it's almost like one side is completely blind as to what is happening. A director is driving a wedge in the DC fan base. Marvel fans, Spider-Man fans, X-men fans, they haven't had to deal with the same issue. The closest I've seen any type of genuine hardline split was with IM3, but that was never about the quality of the film. This is why Snyder needs to go. There needs to be someone to rally around.

29%...

Since Batman Begins I found only SEVEN comic book superhero movies with worse reviews:

Ghost Rider
Punisher: War Zone
Spirit
Green Lantern
Ghost Rider 2
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Fant4stic

He's like that crazy General who just KNOWS he can take a bunker with his new guerilla warfare tactics even though he's guaranteed to lose half his soldiers. And maybe not take the bunker. But he's got a lot of explosives so if we all go down (not him, obviously) we go down spectacularly. He's trying to make history. You don't get to be historic, that's not up to you.

IM3 sure was about the quality of the film for me. Shane Black is the one who should never touch a Superhero movie again

Well, if Snyder is driven out, I will be extremely disappointed and frankly judge his replacement by, to me , his very high standard.

I have to admit this is infuriating since I had to suffer through the Nolan trilogy which besides Begins I really really hate and now I finally get a Batman and Superman I like an its all hate and " he has to go"

Its gotten to the point I want the movie to do well with the general public not only because I want more like it but to show the naysayers who more often than not sound like vicious dogs in the depth of their rage and hatred.
