The Dark Knight Rises Call backs.

Gordon's last scene in TDK destroying the bat signal vs Gordon's last scene in TDKR patting a repaired bat signal.

Btw, already mention is Blake surrounded by bats in the cave, but how about Bruce and the bats when Bruce oes his third escape from the pit (and succeeded). Just before the jump, the bats fly because of him.

The cia agent:... Me my men, dr pavel, but only one of you!

Tdk:
The russian: thatswhy we bring dogs! Pity theres only one of you!

Lucious presenting Bruce with a new suit making him lighter and faster. "Separation of the plates makes you more susceptible to KNIVES......."

When Batman appears upside down behind a thug and takes him out. This happened in Batman Begins but the dialogue was slightly reworded , iirc.

That was a nod to Lazarus pit that Batman was reborn and a nod to Batman Begins movie that this is a new beginning. :wow:

And the scene - with burning Bat symbol on the bridge that to indicate Batman's return (as a Bat signal) was a nod to batman Begins scene of Falcone tied to a police search light to create a Bat Signal for the first time.

Miranda talking about "restoring the balance"
Bruce's bed is the same one that was in begins. It's the coolest art deco
bed I have ever seen.

I liked how the new rookie cop shoots the EMP Gun and Batman just looks at him like, "Foo do you know who I am" lol

Miranda's line about "restoring the balance". Also, her stabbing Bruce reminded me of Ra's line about stabbing someone in the heart if they stand in the way of true justice.

Pics of the Waynes and Rachel.

Thomas Wayne "why do we fall?" flashback.

Ra's flashback and dream sequence.

The pit as a parallel to the well in Batman Begins.

Blake stepping into the Batcave, ducking as the bats swarm around him, then standing. Filmed exactly like with Bruce in Batman Begins. They even duck, hold the flashlight, and turn their heads the exact same way.

"and yes, Mr. Wayne, it does come in black"

The new Batsuit leaving him more vulnerable to knives.

The ending
seemed to me to be a call back to Harvey Dent's line, "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

Alfred brings up the letter that he burned.

Also the ending
seems to be reminiscent of how Gordon played things close to his chest in TDK. Not sure if that's the exact quote used.

Yeah, that was all good. I liked Gordon and Bruce's relationship.

Alfred was his heart, Lucious was his mind, and Gordon was his moral compass.

The music played when bats gets gassed in begins as hes calling alfred is the same as the ending in rises. Currently watching begins.

Tumbler jumping from the roof to the freeway like the batpod jumps onto the freeway.

The bickering and confused chatter as the police chase batman.

" He's got a lot of firepower sir."

" What? And you dont?

"Trapped like a rat."

"Sure you have the right animal" or whatever lol

I liked what they did there. In BB, young Bruce falls down the well and becomes frightened and numb. He needed his father to help him out. In TDKR, adult Bruce must embrace fear (the fear of dying heightening his senses, not using the rope) in order to succeed. As said, good parallel.

I like how the conversations between Bruce and Alfred after his parents' death in BB and Rachel's death in TDK mirrored each other, i.e., Alfred bringing in a "bit of" a meal on a tray, Bruce ignoring him, and as Alfred is about to walk out, Bruce stops him and confides in him that he blamed himself for their deaths.

I was wondering if a similar dialog would happen in TDKR, but I didn't catch it.

I thought the burning Bat symbol was more of a reference to The Dark Knight one-sheet:

Talia's death is almost identical to Ra's.

Just change the monorail/armored truck around.

Most of the ones I noticed have already been said, but these others stuck out to me as well...

-Bruce appearing before Gordon wearing a ski mask
("Now we're two." in BB/Hospital in TDKR

-Breaking of the cowl
(Alfred in BB/Bane in TDKR)

-Falling through ice
(Bruce in BB while sparring/Exile in TDKR)

-"Storms comin..."
(Bats to Gordon in BB/Kyle to Wayne in TDKR)

I think some of you are reaching on coincidences being intentional, literary mirrors of previous movies' events.

"If someone stands in the way of true justice, you simply walk up behind them and stab them in the heart."

- Ra's in BB.

Talia doesn't stab Bruce in the heart, but she definitely walks up behind him and stabs him.
